1CXiu, kiu kredas, ke Jesuo estas la Kristo, naskigxis el Dio; kaj cxiu, kiu amas la Naskinton, amas ankaux la naskiton el Li.
1Every one that believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God; and every one that loves him that has begotten loves also him that is begotten of him.
2Per tio ni ekscias, ke ni amas la infanojn de Dio, kiam ni amas Dion kaj plenumas Liajn ordonojn.
2Hereby know we that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.
3CXar jen estas la amo al Dio:ke ni observas Liajn ordonojn; kaj Liaj ordonoj ne estas pezaj.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous.
4CXar cxio, kio el Dio naskigxis, venkas la mondon; kaj jen estas la venko venkinta la mondon:nia fido.
4For all that has been begotten of God gets the victory over the world; and this is the victory which has gotten the victory over the world, our faith.
5Kaj kiu estas la venkanto de la mondo, krom tiu, kiu kredas, ke Jesuo estas la Filo de Dio?
5Who is he that gets the victory over the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6CXi tiu estas la veninto per akvo kaj sango, Jesuo Kristo; ne sole en la akvo, sed en la akvo kaj en la sango.
6This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus [the] Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, for the Spirit is the truth.
7Kaj la Spirito estas la atestanto, cxar la Spirito estas la vero.
7For they that bear witness are three:
8CXar tri estas la atestantoj:la Spirito, kaj la akvo, kaj la sango; kaj la tri en unu konsentas.
8the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three agree in one.
9Se ni akceptas la ateston de homoj, pli granda estas la atesto de Dio; cxar jen estas la atesto de Dio:ke Li atestis pri Sia Filo.
9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God [which] he has witnessed concerning his Son.
10Kiu kredas al la Filo de Dio, tiu havas en si la ateston; kiu ne kredas al Dio, tiu faris Lin mensoginto, pro tio, ke li ne kredis la ateston, kiun Dio atestis pri Sia Filo.
10He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness which God has witnessed concerning his Son.
11Kaj jen estas la atesto:ke Dio donis al ni la vivon eternan; kaj tiu vivo estas en Lia Filo.
11And this is the witness, that God has given to us eternal life; and this life is in his Son.
12Kiu havas la Filon, tiu havas la vivon; kiu ne havas la Filon de Dio, tiu la vivon ne havas.
12He that has the Son has life: he that has not the Son of God has not life.
13CXi tion mi skribis al vi, por ke vi sciu, ke vi havas vivon eternan; al vi, kiuj kredas al la nomo de la Filo de Dio.
13These things have I written to you that ye may know that ye have eternal life who believe on the name of the Son of God.
14Kaj jen estas la kuragxo, kiun ni havas antaux Li:ke se ni ion petas laux lia volo, Li nin auxskultas;
14And this is the boldness which we have towards him, that if we ask him anything according to his will he hears us.
15kaj se ni scias, ke kion ajn ni petas, Li nin auxskultas, ni scias, ke ni havas la petojn, kiujn ni petis de Li.
15And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
16Se iu vidas sian fraton pekantan pekon ne al morto, tiu petos, kaj Li donos al li vivon, por la pekantoj ne al morto. Ekzistas peko al morto; ne pri tio mi diras, ke li petegu.
16If any one see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life, for those that do not sin unto death. There is a sin to death: I do not say of that that he should make a request.
17CXia nejusteco estas peko; kaj ekzistas peko ne al morto.
17Every unrighteousness is sin; and there is a sin not to death.
18Ni scias, ke cxiu naskito el Dio ne pekas; sed la naskito el Dio sin gardas, kaj la malbonulo lin ne tusxas.
18We know that every one begotten of God does not sin, but he that has been begotten of God keeps himself, and the wicked [one] does not touch him.
19Ni scias, ke ni el Dio estas, kaj la tuta mondo kusxas en la malbonulo.
19We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the wicked [one].
20Kaj ni scias, ke la Filo de Dio venis kaj al ni donis komprenon, por ke ni ekkonu la Verulon; kaj ni estas en la Verulo, en Lia Filo, Jesuo Kristo. Tiu estas la vera Dio, kaj la vivo eterna.
20And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding that we should know him that [is] true; and we are in him that [is] true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21Infanetoj, gardu vin kontraux idoloj.
21Children, keep yourselves from idols.
