¹Sur Azarjan, filon de Oded, venis la spirito de Dio.

¹And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded.

²And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: Jehovah is with you while ye are with him; and if ye seek him he will be found of you, but if ye forsake him he will forsake you.

³Dum longa tempo Izrael estos sen la vera Dio, sen instruanta pastro, kaj sen instruo;

³Now for a long while Israel [was] without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law;

⁴sed en sia mizero ili returnos sin al la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael; kaj ili sercxos Lin, kaj Li trovigos Sin al ili.

⁴but in their trouble they turned to Jehovah the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found of them.

⁵En tiu tempo ne havos pacon la eliranto nek la eniranto, cxar grandaj tumultoj estos cxe cxiuj logxantoj de la landoj.

⁵And in those times there [was] no peace to him that went out nor to him that came in, but great disturbances were amongst all the inhabitants of the countries.

⁶Nacio disbatos nacion kaj urbo urbon, cxar Dio konfuzos ilin per diversaj malfelicxoj.

⁶And nation was broken against nation, and city against city; for God disturbed them with all manner of distress.

⁷Sed vi estu kuragxaj, kaj ne faligu viajn manojn; cxar ekzistas rekompenco pro viaj faroj.

⁷But as for you, be firm and let not your hands be weak; for there is a reward for your deeds.

⁸Kiam Asa auxdis tiujn vortojn kaj la profetajxon de la profeto Oded, li kuragxigxis, kaj eljxetis la abomenindajxojn el la tuta lando de Jehuda kaj de Benjamen, kaj el la urboj, kiujn li venkoprenis sur la monto de Efraim; kaj li renovigis la altaron de la Eternulo, starantan antaux la portiko de la Eternulo.

⁸And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of Jehovah, that was before the porch of Jehovah.

⁹Kaj li kunvenigis cxiujn Jehudaidojn kaj Benjamenidojn, kaj la kun ili logxantajn enmigrintojn el la tribo de Efraim, de Manase, kaj de Simeon; cxar ili en granda nombro transiris al li de Izrael, kiam ili vidis, ke la Eternulo, lia Dio, estas kun li.

⁹And he assembled all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon; for they fell away to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that Jehovah his God was with him.

¹⁰Kaj ili kunvenis en Jerusalemon en la tria monato de la dek-kvina jaro de la regxado de Asa.

¹⁰And they assembled themselves at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

¹¹Kaj ili alportis en tiu tago oferojn al la Eternulo el la militakirajxo, kiun ili venigis:sepcent bovojn kaj sep mil sxafojn.

¹¹And they sacrificed to Jehovah in that day, of the spoil that they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.

¹²Kaj ili faris interligon, ke ili strebados al la Eternulo, Dio de iliaj patroj, per sia tuta koro kaj per sia tuta animo,

¹²And they entered into a covenant to seek Jehovah the God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul,

¹³kaj ke cxiu, kiu ne turnos sin al la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael, devas morti, cxu tio estas malgranda, cxu granda, cxu viro, cxu virino.

¹³and that whoever would not seek Jehovah the God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

¹⁴Kaj ili jxuris al la Eternulo per lauxta vocxo, per gxojkriado, per trumpetoj kaj kornoj.

¹⁴And they swore to Jehovah with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

¹⁵Kaj cxiuj Judoj gxojis pri la jxuro, cxar ili jxuris el sia tuta koro, ili sercxis Lin kun plena fervoro, kaj Li trovigis Sin al ili. Kaj la Eternulo donis al ili trankvilecon cxirkauxe.

¹⁵And all Judah rejoiced at the oath; for they took the oath with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them. And Jehovah gave them rest round about.

¹⁶Kaj ecx Maahxan, la patrinon, la regxo Asa senigis je sxia titolo de regxino, pro tio, ke sxi faris idolon por Asxtar. Kaj Asa dishakis sxian idolon, dispecigis gxin kaj forbruligis cxe la torento Kidron.

¹⁶And also Maachah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol for the Asherah; and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burned it in the valley Kidron.

¹⁷Tamen la altajxoj ne estis forigitaj cxe Izrael; sed la koro de Asa estis perfekta dum lia tuta vivo.

¹⁷But the high places were not removed from Israel; only, Asa's heart was perfect all his days.

¹⁸Li enportis en la domon de Dio la konsekritajxojn de sia patro, kaj siajn proprajn konsekritajxojn, argxenton kaj oron kaj vazojn.

¹⁸And he brought into the house of God the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

¹⁹Kaj ne estis milito gxis la tridek-kvina jaro de la regxado de Asa.

¹⁹And there was no war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
