¹Cetere, fratoj, ni sciigas al vi la gracon de Dio, kiu estas donacita en la eklezioj Makedonaj;

¹But we make known to you, brethren, the grace of God bestowed in the assemblies of Macedonia;

²nome, en grava provo per suferado, la abundo de ilia gxojo kaj ilia profunda malricxeco abundis al la ricxo de ilia malavareco.

²that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty has abounded to the riches of their [free-hearted] liberality.

³CXar mi konstatas, ke laux sia povo-jes, kaj super sia povo-ili donis memvole,

³For according to [their] power, I bear witness, and beyond [their] power, [they were] willing of their own accord,

⁴petegante nin per multe da petado fari tiun komplezon kaj la komunan helpservadon al la sanktuloj;

⁴begging of us with much entreaty [to give effect to] the grace and fellowship of the service which [was to be rendered] to the saints.

⁵kaj ne kiel ni esperis, sed unue ili sin dedicxis al la Sinjoro, kaj al ni per la volo de Dio.

⁵And not according as we hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord, and to us by God's will.

⁶Tiel, ke ni instigis Titon, ke kiel li antauxe komencis, tiel same li perfektigu en vi cxi tiun pluan gracon.

⁶So that we begged Titus that, according as he had before begun, so he would also complete as to you this grace also;

⁷Sed kiel al vi cxio abundas:fido kaj parolo kaj scio kaj fervoro kaj via amo al ni, tiel abundu al vi ankaux cxi tiu graco.

⁷but even as ye abound in every way, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in love from you to us, that ye may abound in this grace also.

⁸Mi parolas ne ordonante, sed provante per la fervoro de aliaj la sincerecon de via amo ankaux.

⁸I do not speak as commanding [it], but through the zeal of others, and proving the genuineness of your love.

⁹CXar vi scias la gracon de nia Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo, ke kvankam li estis ricxa, tamen pro vi li farigxis malricxa, por ke vi per lia malricxeco farigxu ricxaj.

⁹For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sakes he, being rich, became poor, in order that *ye* by *his* poverty might be enriched.

¹⁰Kaj en tio mi donas mian opinion; cxar cxi tio utilas por vi, kiuj unuaj komencis, antaux unu jaro, ne nur fari, sed ankaux voli.

¹⁰And I give [my] opinion in this, for this is profitable for you who began before, not only to do, but also to be willing, a year ago.

¹¹Sed nun kompletigu la faradon ankaux; tiel ke, kiel estis la volonteco voli, tiel ankaux estu la plenumo el via havo.

¹¹But now also complete the doing of it; so that as [there was] the readiness to be willing, so also to complete out of what ye have.

¹²CXar kie ekzistas la volonteco, gxi estos akceptita laux la havo, ne laux la nehavo.

¹²For if the readiness be there, [a man is] accepted according to what he may have, not according to what he has not.

¹³CXar mi diras tion, ne por ke aliaj estu faciligataj kaj vi premataj,

¹³For [it is] not in order that there may be ease for others, and for you distress,

¹⁴sed laux egaleco:via abundo nuntempe farigxu por ilia manko, por ke ilia abundo farigxu por via manko, por ke estu egaleco;

¹⁴but [on the principle] of equality; in the present time your abundance for their lack, that their abundance may be for your lack, so that there should be equality.

¹⁵kiel estas skribite:Tiu, kiu kolektis pli, ne havis superflue, kaj tiu, kiu kolektis malpli, ne havis mankon.

¹⁵According as it is written, He who [gathered] much had no excess, and he who [gathered] little was nothing short.

¹⁶Sed danko estu al Dio, kiu metas en la koron de Tito la saman zorgon pri vi.

¹⁶But thanks [be] to God, who gives the same diligent zeal for you in the heart of Titus.

¹⁷CXar li ja akceptis la instigon; sed estante mem tre fervora, li ekiris al vi memvole.

¹⁷For he received indeed the entreaty, but, being full of zeal, he went of his own accord to you;

¹⁸Kaj ni sendis kune kun li la fraton, kies lauxdo en la evangelio disvastigxas tra cxiuj eklezioj;

¹⁸but we have sent with him the brother whose praise [is] in the glad tidings through all the assemblies;

¹⁹kaj krom tio, li ankaux estis elektita de la eklezioj, por vojagxadi kune kun ni rilate al cxi tiu graco, kiun ni administradas al la gloro de la Sinjoro, kaj por elmontri nian volontecon,

¹⁹and not only [so], but [is] also chosen by the assemblies as our fellow-traveller with this grace, ministered by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and [a witness of] our readiness;

²⁰evitante tion, ke iu riprocxus nin rilate al cxi tiu monhelpo, kiun ni administras;

²⁰avoiding this, that any one should blame us in this abundance [which is] administered by us;

²¹cxar ni celas aferojn konvenajn ne nur antaux la Sinjoro, sed ankaux antaux homoj.

²¹for we provide for things honest, not only before [the] Lord, but also before men.

²²Kaj ni sendis kune kun ili nian fraton, kiun ni ofte pruvis fervora en multaj aferoj, sed nun multe pli fervora pro la granda fido, kiun li havas al vi.

²²And we have sent with them our brother whom we have often proved to be of diligent zeal in many things, and now more diligently zealous through the great confidence [he has] as to you.

²³Se iu demandas pri Tito, li estas mia kunulo kaj mia kunlaboranto rilate al vi; se pri niaj fratoj, ili estas apostoloj de eklezioj, la gloro de Kristo.

²³Whether as regards Titus, [he is] my companion and fellow-labourer in your behalf; or our brethren, [they are] deputed messengers of assemblies, Christ's glory.

²⁴Vi do elmontru al ili antaux la eklezioj la pruvon de via amo kaj de nia fanfaronado pro vi.

²⁴Shew therefore to them, before the assemblies, the proof of your love, and of our boasting about you.
