¹CXar pri la servado al la sanktuloj estas por mi superflue skribi al vi;

¹For concerning the ministration which [is] for the saints, it is superfluous my writing to you.

²cxar mi scias vian volontecon, pri kiu mi fanfaronas pro vi al la Makedonoj, ke la Ahxaja lando jam antaux unu jaro pretigxis; kaj via fervoro instigis la plimulton el ili.

²For I know your readiness, which I boast of as respects you to Macedonians, that Achaia is prepared since a year ago, and the zeal [reported] of you has stimulated the mass [of the brethren].

³Sed mi sendis la fratojn, por ke nia fanfaronado pro vi ne farigxu vanta rilate al cxi tio, sed, kiel mi diris, por ke vi estu pretaj,

³But I have sent the brethren, in order that our boasting about you may not be made void in this respect, in order that, as I have said, ye may be prepared;

⁴por ke, se venus kune kun mi iuj el Makedonujo kaj trovus vin ne pretaj, ni (por ne diri, vi) ne hontu pro cxi tiu fido.

⁴lest haply, if Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, *we*, that we say not *ye*, may be put to shame in this confidence.

⁵Mi do opiniis necesa, peti la fratojn, ke ili antauxe iru al vi, kaj antauxe pretigu vian de longe promesitan helpmonon, por ke tio estu preta, kiel volonte donita, kaj ne kiel eldevigita.

⁵I thought it necessary therefore to beg the brethren that they would come to you, and complete beforehand your fore-announced blessing, that this may be ready thus as blessing, and not as got out of you.

⁶Sed jen:Tiu, kiu semas sxpare, ankaux rikoltos sxpare; kaj tiu, kiu semas malavare, ankaux rikoltos malavare.

⁶But this [is true], he that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that sows in [the spirit of] blessing shall reap also in blessing:

⁷CXiu faru laux tio, kion li intencas en la koro, ne domagxante, nek pro neceseco; cxar Dio amas donacanton gxojan.

⁷each according as he is purposed in his heart; not grievingly, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

⁸Kaj Dio povas abundigi cxe vi cxian gracon, por ke vi, havante cxiam en cxio cxian suficxecon, abunde rilatu al cxia bona faro;

⁸But God is able to make every gracious gift abound towards you, that, having in every way always all-sufficiency, ye may abound to every good work:

⁹kiel estas skribite: Li sxutis kaj donis al la malricxuloj; Lia justeco restas eterne.

⁹according as it is written, He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor, his righteousness remains for ever.

¹⁰Kaj Tiu, kiu donas semon al la semanto kaj panon por nutrajxo, donos kaj multobligos vian semotan semon, kaj plimultigos la fruktojn de via justeco;

¹⁰Now he that supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating shall supply and make abundant your sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness:

¹¹dum vi pliricxigxos en cxio al cxia malavareco, kiu efikas per ni dankdonadon al Dio.

¹¹enriched in every way unto all free-hearted liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God.

¹²CXar la administrado de cxi tiu servado ne nur kompletigas la mezuron de la bezonoj de la sanktuloj, sed ankaux abundas per multaj dankoj al Dio;

¹²Because the ministration of this service is not only filling up the measure of what is lacking to the saints, but also abounding by many thanksgivings to God;

¹³cxar provinte vin per cxi tiu administrado, ili gloras Dion pro la obeo de via konfeso al la evangelio de Kristo, kaj pro la malavareco de via donaco al ili kaj al cxiuj;

¹³they glorifying God through the proof of this ministration, by reason of your subjection, by profession, to the glad tidings of the Christ, and your free-hearted liberality in communicating towards them and towards all;

¹⁴dum ili mem ankaux, per petado por vi, tre sopiras al vi pro la grandega graco de Dio en vi.

¹⁴and in their supplication for you, full of ardent desire for you, on account of the exceeding grace of God [which is] upon you.

¹⁵Danko estu al Dio pro Lia neesprimebla donaco.

¹⁵Thanks [be] to God for his unspeakable free gift.
