¹Ijob respondis kaj diris:

¹And Job answered and said,

²Kiel vi helpas al tiu, kiu ne havas forton! Kiel vi subtenas tiun, kies brako estas senforta!

²How hast thou helped the powerless; how saved the arm that is without strength!

³Kian konsilon vi donas al tiu, kiu ne havas sagxon, Kaj kiel grandan prudenton vi montras!

³How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, and abundantly declared the thing as it is!

⁴Al kiu vi parolas vortojn? Kaj kies spirito eliras el vi?

⁴For whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

⁵La mortintoj tremas sub la akvo, Kaj ankaux tiuj, kiuj vivas en gxi.

⁵The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof;

⁶SXeol estas malkovrita antaux Li, Kaj la abismo ne havas kovron.

⁶Sheol is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.

⁷Li etendis la nordon super la malpleno, Li pendigis la teron sur nenio.

⁷He stretcheth out the north over empty space, he hangeth the earth upon nothing;

⁸Li ligas la akvon en Siaj nuboj, Kaj nubo ne krevas sub tio.

⁸He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not rent under them.

⁹Li kovras la tronon Kaj etendas cxirkaux gxi Sian nubon.

⁹He covereth the face of his throne, he spreadeth his cloud upon it.

¹⁰Li faris limon sur la akvo, GXis la loko, kie finigxas la lumo kaj la mallumo.

¹⁰He hath traced a fixed circle over the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.

¹¹La kolonoj de la cxielo sxanceligxas Kaj tremas de Lia krio.

¹¹The pillars of the heavens tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.

¹²Per Sia forto Li kvietigas la maron, Kaj per Sia sagxo Li frakasas Rahabon.

¹²He stirreth up the sea by his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

¹³Per Lia spirito belegigxis la cxielo; Lia mano trapikas la tordigxantan serpenton.

¹³By his Spirit the heavens are adorned; his hand hath formed the fleeing serpent.

¹⁴Jen tio estas parto de Liaj vojoj; Kaj nur iometon ni auxdis pri Li. Kiu povas kompreni la tondron de Lia potenco?

¹⁴Lo, these are the borders of his ways; but what a whisper of a word do we hear of him! And the thunder of his power, who can understand?
