¹Kaj li diris al siaj discxiploj:Ne povas esti, ke faliloj ne venos, sed ve al tiu, per kiu ili venos!

¹And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come!

²Pli bone estus por tiu, se muelsxtono estus pendigita cxirkaux lia kolo, kaj se li estus jxetita en la maron, ol se li metus falilon por unu el cxi tiuj malgranduloj.

²It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.

³Gardu vin; se via frato pekos, admonu lin; kaj se li pentos, pardonu lin.

³Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.

⁴Kaj se li pekos kontraux vi sep fojojn en la tago, kaj sep fojojn turnigxos al vi, dirante:Mi pentas; vi lin pardonu.

⁴And if he should sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times should return to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.

⁵Kaj la apostoloj diris al la Sinjoro:Aldonu al ni fidon.

⁵And the apostles said to the Lord, Give more faith to us.

⁶Kaj la Sinjoro diris:Se vi havus fidon kiel semeron de sinapo, vi dirus al cxi tiu morusarbo:Estu elradikigita, kaj estu plantita en la maron; kaj gxi obeus al vi.

⁶But the Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye had said to this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.

⁷Sed kiu el vi, havante serviston plugantan aux pasxtantan, diros al li, kiam li envenis de la kampo:Tuj venu, kaj sidigxu, por mangxi?

⁷But which of you [is there] who, having a bondman ploughing or shepherding, when he comes in out of the field, will say, Come and lie down immediately to table?

⁸CXu li ne diros al li prefere:Preparu ion, por ke mi verspermangxu, kaj zonu vin, kaj servu al mi, dum mi mangxos kaj trinkos; kaj poste vi mangxos kaj trinkos?

⁸But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink?

⁹CXu li dankas la serviston, cxar li faris tion, kio estis ordonita?

⁹Is he thankful to the bondman because he has done what was ordered? I judge not.

¹⁰Tiel ankaux vi, kiam vi faris cxion, kio estas ordonita al vi, diru:Ni estas senutilaj servistoj; ni faris tion, kion fari estis nia devo.

¹⁰Thus *ye* also, when ye shall have done all things that have been ordered you, say, We are unprofitable bondmen; we have done what it was our duty to do.

¹¹Kaj dum ili vojiris al Jerusalem, li trapasis tra la mezo de Samario kaj de Galileo.

¹¹And it came to pass as he was going up to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

¹²And as he entered into a certain village ten leprous men met him, who stood afar off.

¹³And they lifted up [their] voice saying, Jesus, Master, have compassion on us.

¹⁴And seeing [them] he said to them, Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass as they were going they were cleansed.

¹⁵And one of them, seeing that he was cured, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice,

¹⁶and fell on [his] face at his feet giving him thanks: and *he* was a Samaritan.

¹⁷Kaj Jesuo responde diris:CXu ne la dek estis purigitaj? sed kie estas la naux?

¹⁷And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but the nine, where [are they]?

¹⁸CXu ne trovigxis revenantoj, por doni gloron al Dio, krom cxi tiu fremdulo?

¹⁸There have not been found to return and give glory to God save this stranger.

¹⁹Kaj li diris al li:Levigxu kaj iru; via fido vin savis.

¹⁹And he said to him, Rise up and go thy way: thy faith has made thee well.

²⁰Kaj kiam la Fariseoj demandis al li, kiam venos la regno de Dio, li respondis al ili, dirante:La regno de Dio ne venas kun observado;

²⁰And having been asked by the Pharisees, When is the kingdom of God coming? he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation;

²¹kaj oni ne diros:Jen cxi tie, aux:Jen tie! cxar jen la regno de Dio estas inter vi.

²¹nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.

²²Kaj li diris al la discxiploj:Venos tagoj, kiam vi deziros vidi unu el la tagoj de la Filo de homo, kaj vi ne vidos.

²²And he said to the disciples, Days are coming, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see [it].

²³Kaj ili diros al vi:Jen tie! Jen cxi tie! Ne foriru, nek sekvu;

²³And they will say to you, Lo here, or Lo there; go not, nor follow [them].

²⁴cxar kiel la fulmo, kiam gxi fulmas el unu subcxiela flanko, lumas gxis alia subcxiela flanko, tiel estos la Filo de homo en sia tago.

²⁴For as the lightning shines which lightens from [one end] under heaven to [the other end] under heaven, thus shall the Son of man be in his day.

²⁵Sed unue li devas multon suferi, kaj esti malsxatata de cxi tiu generacio.

²⁵But first he must suffer many things and be rejected of this generation.

²⁶Kaj kiel estis en la tagoj de Noa, tiel estos en la tagoj de la Filo de homo.

²⁶And as it took place in the days of Noe, thus also shall it be in the days of the Son of man:

²⁷they ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all [of them];

²⁸and in like manner as took place in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

²⁹but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed all [of them]:

³⁰after this [manner] shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.

³¹Kiu estos sur la tegmento en tiu tago, kun liaj havajxoj en la domo, tiu ne malsupreniru, por ilin forporti; kaj kiu estas sur la kampo, tiu ankaux ne revenu.

³¹In that day, he who shall be on the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not go down to take it away; and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

³²Memoru la edzinon de Lot.

³²Remember the wife of Lot.

³³Kiu penos gajni sian animon, tiu gxin perdos; sed kiu gxin perdos, tiu savos gxin viva.

³³Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall preserve it.

³⁴Mi diras al vi:En tiu nokto estos du viroj sur unu lito; unu estos prenita, kaj la alia lasita.

³⁴I say to you, In that night there shall be two [men] upon one bed; one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.

³⁵Du virinoj estos muelantaj kune; unu estos prenita, kaj la alia lasita.

³⁵Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.

³⁶Du viroj estos sur kampo; unu estos prenita, kaj la alia lasita.

³⁶[Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be seized and the other let go.]

³⁷Kaj ili responde diris al li:Kie, Sinjoro? Kaj li diris al ili:Kie estas la kadavro, tien ankaux kolektigxos la agloj.

³⁷And answering they say to him, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Where the body [is], there the eagles will be gathered together.
