¹Kaj la Eternulo ekparolis al Moseo, dirante:

¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²Faru vengxon pro la Izraelidoj sur la Midjanidoj; kaj poste alkolektigxu al via popolo.

²Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.

³Kaj Moseo ekparolis al la popolo, dirante:Armu inter vi virojn por milito, ke ili iru kontraux Midjan, por fari vengxon de la Eternulo sur Midjan.

³And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.

⁴Po mil el tribo, el cxiuj triboj de Izrael, sendu en militon.

⁴Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

⁵Kaj oni eligis el la miloj de la Izraelidoj, po mil el cxiu tribo, dek du mil armitojn por milito.

⁵And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

⁶Kaj Moseo sendis ilin, po mil el tribo, en militon, ilin kaj Pinehxason, filon de la pastro Eleazar, en militon, kaj la sanktaj vazoj kaj alarmaj trumpetoj estis en lia mano.

⁶And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.

⁷Kaj ili militis kontraux Midjan, kiel la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo, kaj ili mortigis cxiujn virseksulojn.

⁷And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.

⁸Kaj la regxojn de Midjan ili mortigis inter la aliaj mortigitoj:Evin, Rekemon, Curon, HXuron, kaj Reban, la kvin regxojn de Midjan, kaj Bileamon, filon de Beor, ili mortigis per glavo.

⁸And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

⁹And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;

¹⁰and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.

¹¹And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;

¹²Kaj ili venigis al Moseo kaj al la pastro Eleazar kaj al la komunumo de la Izraelidoj la kaptitojn kaj la prenitajxon kaj la rabitajxon en la tendaron sur la stepoj de Moab apud la Jerihxa Jordan.

¹²and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.

¹³And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.

¹⁴And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;

¹⁵Kaj Moseo diris al ili:Vi lasis vivi cxiujn virinojn!

¹⁵and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

¹⁶Jen ili estis ja por la Izraelidoj, laux la vortoj de Bileam, instigo por deturnigxi de la Eternulo al Peor; kaj pro tio estis ja la punfrapado en la komunumo de la Eternulo.

¹⁶Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.

¹⁷Kaj nun mortigu cxiun virseksan infanon; kaj cxiun virinon, kiu ekkonis viron sur kusxejo de viro, mortigu.

¹⁷And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,

¹⁸Sed cxiun infanon virinseksan, kiu ne ekkonis kusxejon de viro, lasu viva por vi.

¹⁸but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.

¹⁹Kaj vi restu ekster la tendaro dum sep tagoj; cxiu el vi kaj viaj kaptitoj, kiu mortigis homon, kaj cxiu, kiu ektusxis mortigiton, pekpurigu sin en la tria tago kaj en la sepa tago.

¹⁹And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.

²⁰Kaj cxiun veston kaj cxiun objekton el felo kaj cxion faritan el kapra lano kaj cxiun lignan vazon pekpurigu.

²⁰And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.

²¹Kaj la pastro Eleazar diris al la militistoj, kiuj iris en la militon:Tio estas la legxa instrukcio, kiun la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo:

²¹And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

²²Nur oron, argxenton, kupron, feron, stanon, kaj plumbon,

²²Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

²³cxion, kio povas iri en fajron, trairigu tra fajro, kaj gxi estos pura, tamen per puriga akvo oni gxin pekpurigu; cxion, kio ne povas iri en fajron, trairigu tra akvo.

²³everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.

²⁴Kaj lavu viajn vestojn en la sepa tago kaj farigxu puraj, kaj poste vi povas veni en la tendaron.

²⁴And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.

²⁵Kaj la Eternulo ekparolis al Moseo, dirante:

²⁵And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁶Kalkulu la kvanton de la prenita kaptitajxo, kiel de la homoj, tiel ankaux de la brutoj, vi kaj la pastro Eleazar kaj la estroj de la familioj de la komunumo.

²⁶Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;

²⁷Kaj dividu la prenitajxon po duono inter tiuj, kiuj partoprenis en la milito kaj iris batali, kaj inter la tuta komunumo.

²⁷and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.

²⁸Kaj prenu imposton por la Eternulo de la militistoj, kiuj iris batali, po unu animo el kvincent, kiel el la homoj, tiel el la bovoj kaj el la azenoj kaj el la sxafoj.

²⁸And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.

²⁹Prenu tion el ilia duono, kaj donu al la pastro Eleazar, kiel oferdonon por la Eternulo.

²⁹Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.

³⁰Kaj el la duono, apartenanta al la Izraelidoj, prenu po unu kaptito el kvindek, kiel el la homoj, tiel ankaux el la bovoj, el la azenoj, kaj el la sxafoj, el cxiuj brutoj, kaj donu ilin al la Levidoj, kiuj plenumas la oficojn en la tabernaklo de la Eternulo.

³⁰And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.

³¹Kaj faris Moseo kaj la pastro Eleazar, kiel la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo.

³¹And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

³²Kaj la kvanto de la kaptitajxo, krom la rabitajxo, kiun rabis la militistoj, estis:da sxafoj sescent sepdek kvin mil;

³²And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,

³³kaj da bovoj sepdek du mil;

³³and seventy-two thousand oxen,

³⁴kaj da azenoj sesdek unu mil;

³⁴and sixty-one thousand asses,

³⁵kaj da homoj, el virinoj, kiuj ne ekkonis kusxejon de viro, la nombro de cxiuj estis tridek du mil.

³⁵and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.

³⁶La duono, la parto de tiuj, kiuj iris en la militon, estis:da sxafoj tricent tridek sep mil kvincent;

³⁶And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,

³⁷kaj la tributo por la Eternulo estis el la sxafoj sescent sepdek kvin;

³⁷and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;

³⁸kaj da bovoj estis tridek ses mil, kaj el ili la tributo al la Eternulo sepdek du;

³⁸and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;

³⁹kaj da azenoj estis tridek mil kvincent, kaj el ili la tributo al la Eternulo sesdek unu;

³⁹and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;

⁴⁰kaj da homoj estis dek ses mil, kaj el ili la tributo por la Eternulo tridek du animoj.

⁴⁰and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.

⁴¹Kaj Moseo donis la tributon, la oferdonon por la Eternulo, al la pastro Eleazar, kiel la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo.

⁴¹And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

⁴²Kaj el la duono, apartenanta al la Izraelidoj, kiun apartigis Moseo de la viroj, kiuj militis

⁴²And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,

⁴³(kaj la duono, apartenanta al la komunumo, estis:da sxafoj tricent tridek sep mil kvincent,

⁴³(now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,

⁴⁴kaj da bovoj tridek ses mil,

⁴⁴and thirty-six thousand oxen,

⁴⁵kaj da azenoj tridek mil kvincent,

⁴⁵and thirty thousand five hundred asses,

⁴⁶kaj da homoj dek ses mil) -

⁴⁶and sixteen thousand human persons,)

⁴⁷Kaj Moseo prenis el la duono, apartenanta al la Izraelidoj, unu prenitajxon el kvindek, kiel el la homoj, tiel ankaux el la brutoj, kaj li donis ilin al la Levidoj, kiuj plenumas oficojn en la tabernaklo de la Eternulo, kiel la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo.

⁴⁷... of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

⁴⁸Kaj aliris al Moseo la estroj de la miloj da militistoj, la milestroj kaj la centestroj;

⁴⁸And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,

⁴⁹kaj ili diris al Moseo:Viaj servantoj kalkulis la militistojn, kiuj estis komisiitaj al ni, kaj mankas el ili neniu;

⁴⁹and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.

⁵⁰tial ni alportas oferon al la Eternulo, kion cxiu el ni trovis, orajn vazojn, cxenetojn, braceletojn, ringojn, orelornamojn, kaj kolringojn, por pekliberigi niajn animojn antaux la Eternulo.

⁵⁰So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.

⁵¹Kaj Moseo kaj la pastro Eleazar prenis de ili la oron en la formo de diversaj objektoj.

⁵¹And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.

⁵²Kaj la kvanto de la tuta oro oferdona, kiun ili oferdonis al la Eternulo, estis dek ses mil sepcent kvindek sikloj de la milestroj kaj de la centestroj.

⁵²And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.

⁵³(The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.)

⁵⁴Kaj Moseo kaj la pastro Eleazar prenis la oron de la milestroj kaj centestroj, kaj alportis gxin en la tabernaklon de kunveno, kiel memorigajxon de la Izraelidoj antaux la Eternulo.

⁵⁴And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
