¹David konsiligxis kun la milestroj, centestroj, kaj cxiuj cxefoj;

¹David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.

²kaj David diris al la tuta komunumo de Izrael:Se placxas al vi, kaj se tio estas de la Eternulo, nia Dio, ni dissendu cxiuflanken al cxiuj ceteraj niaj fratoj en cxiujn regionojn de Izrael, kaj samtempe al la pastroj kaj Levidoj en la urbojn de ilia logxado, ke ili kolektigxu al ni;

²David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us;

³kaj ni transportu al ni la keston de nia Dio, cxar ni ne turnis nin al Li en la tempo de Saul.

³and let us bring again the ark of our God to us. For we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”

⁴Kaj la tuta komunumo diris, ke oni tiel agu; cxar la afero placxis al la tuta popolo.

⁴All the assembly said that they would do so; for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

⁵Tiam David kolektis la tutan Izraelon, de SXihxor la Egipta gxis HXamat, por ke oni venigu la keston de Dio el Kirjat-Jearim.

⁵So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor the brook of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.

⁶Kaj David kun la tuta Izrael iris en Baalan, en Kirjat-Jearimon, kiu trovigxas en Judujo, por venigi de tie la keston de Dio, de la Eternulo, kiu sidas sur la keruboj, kie estas vokata Lia nomo.

⁶David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God Yahweh that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.

⁷Kaj oni veturigis la keston de Dio sur nova veturilo el la domo de Abinadab, kaj Uza kaj Ahxjo kondukis la veturilon.

⁷They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.

⁸Kaj David kaj cxiuj Izraelidoj ludis antaux Dio per la tuta forto, kun kantoj, harpoj, psalteroj, tamburinoj, cimbaloj, kaj trumpetoj.

⁸David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with stringed instruments, and with tambourines, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

⁹Kiam ili alvenis al la drasxejo de Kidon, Uza etendis sian manon, por subteni la keston, cxar la bovoj klinpusxis gxin.

⁹When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

¹⁰Tiam ekflamis la kolero de la Eternulo kontraux Uza, kaj Li mortigis lin pro tio, ke li etendis sian manon al la kesto; kaj li mortis tie antaux Dio.

¹⁰The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Uzza, and he struck him, because he put forth his hand to the ark; and there he died before God.

¹¹Kaj afliktigxis David pro tio, ke la Eternulo frapis Uzan, kaj li donis al tiu loko la nomon Perec-Uza, gxis la nuna tago.

¹¹David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken forth on Uzza; and he called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.

¹²Kaj David ektimis Dion en tiu tago, kaj diris:Kiamaniere mi enportos al mi la keston de Dio?

¹²David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?”

¹³Kaj David ne transportigis la keston al si, en la urbon de David, sed li direktis gxin en la domon de Obed-Edom, la Gatano.

¹³So David didn’t move the ark to him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

¹⁴Kaj la kesto de Dio restis kun la familio de Obed-Edom en lia domo dum tri monatoj; kaj la Eternulo benis la domon de Obed-Edom, kaj cxion, kio apartenis al li.

¹⁴The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months: and Yahweh blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he had.
