1Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.

2David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel’s sake.
3Kaj David prenis ankoraux edzinojn en Jerusalem, kaj David naskigis ankoraux filojn kaj filinojn.
3David took more wives at Jerusalem; and David became the father of more sons and daughters.

4These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5kaj Jibhxar kaj Elisxua kaj Elpelet
5and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,
6kaj Noga kaj Nefeg kaj Jafia
6and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7kaj Elisxama kaj Beeljada kaj Elifelet.
7and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8Kiam la Filisxtoj auxdis, ke David estas oleita kiel regxo super la tuta Izrael, tiam cxiuj Filisxtoj iris, por sercxi Davidon. David auxdis pri tio, kaj li eliris kontraux ilin.
8When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.
9Kaj la Filisxtoj venis kaj okupis la valon Refaim.
9Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
10Kaj David demandis Dion, dirante:CXu mi iru kontraux la Filisxtojn? kaj cxu Vi transdonos ilin en mian manon? Kaj la Eternulo diris al li:Iru, cxar Mi transdonos ilin en vian manon.
10David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11Kaj ili iris al Baal-Peracim, kaj David venkobatis ilin tie. Kaj David diris:Dio disbatis miajn malamikojn per mia mano, kiel oni disbatas akvon. Tial oni donis al tiu loko la nomon Baal-Peracim.
11So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
12Kaj ili lasis tie siajn diojn; kaj David ordonis, ke oni forbruligu ilin per fajro.
12They left their gods there; and David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire.

13The Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.
14Tiam David denove demandis Dion, kaj Dio diris al li:Ne iru post ili, deturnu vin de ili, kaj venu al ili de la flanko de la morusarboj;
14David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them over against the mulberry trees.
15kaj kiam vi ekauxdos la sonon de pasxoj sur la supro de la morusarboj, tiam komencu la batalon; cxar Dio eliris antaux vi, por frapi la tendaron de la Filisxtoj.
15It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
16Kaj David faris, kiel ordonis al li Dio; kaj ili venkobatis la tendaron de la Filisxtoj de Gibeon gxis Gezer.
16David did as God commanded him: and they struck the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17Kaj la nomo de David farigxis fama en cxiuj landoj; kaj la Eternulo faris lin timata de cxiuj nacioj.
17The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.
