¹Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?

²I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

³Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

⁴CXu vi vane tiom suferis? se ja tio estas vana.

⁴Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?

⁵CXu do Tiu, kiu donas al vi la Spiriton kaj faras cxe vi miraklojn, tion faras per faroj de la legxo, aux per la auxdado de fido?

⁵He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

⁶Tiel same, kiel Abraham kredis al Dio, kaj tio estis kalkulita al li kiel virto.

⁶Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

⁷Sciu do, ke tiuj, kiuj rilatas al fido, estas filoj de Abraham.

⁷Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham.

⁸The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.” Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18

⁹Tial do tiuj, kiuj rilatas al fido, benigxas kun la fidela Abraham.

⁹So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

¹⁰CXar cxiuj, kiuj rilatas al faroj de la legxo, estas sub malbeno; cxar estas skribite:Malbenita estas cxiu, kiu ne persistos en cxio, kio estas skribita en la libro de la legxo, por plenumi gxin.

¹⁰For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.” Deuteronomy 27:26

¹¹Sed ke neniu pravigxas antaux Dio per la legxo, estas evidente; cxar:La virtulo vivos per fido;

¹¹Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:4

¹²kaj la legxo ne rilatas al fido; sed:Kiu plenumas ilin, tiu vivos en ili.

¹²The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.” Leviticus 18:5

¹³Kristo elacxetis nin el la malbeno de la legxo, farigxinte malbeno pro ni; cxar estas skribite:Malbenita estas cxiu, kiu pendas sur lignajxo;

¹³Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” Deuteronomy 21:23

¹⁴por ke venu sur la nacianojn la beno de Abraham en Kristo Jesuo; por ke per fido ni ricevu la promeson de la Spirito.

¹⁴that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

¹⁵Fratoj, mi parolas laux homo:Konfirmitan interligon, ecx nur homan, neniu nuligas nek prialdonas.

¹⁵Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.

¹⁶Sed al Abraham kaj al lia semo la promesoj estis parolitaj. Li ne diras:Kaj al semoj, kvazaux pri multaj; sed kvazaux unu:Kaj al via semo, kiu estas Kristo.

¹⁶Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn’t say, “To seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “To your seed,” Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7 which is Christ.

¹⁷Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.

¹⁸CXar se la heredajxo estas de la legxo, gxi jam ne estas de promeso; sed Dio gxin donis al Abraham per promeso.

¹⁸For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.

¹⁹Kio do estas la legxo? GXi estis aldonita kauxze de eraroj, gxis venos la idaro, al kiu la promeso estas donita; ordigite per angxeloj en la mano de interulo.

¹⁹What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

²⁰Interulo ne estas de unu, sed Dio estas unu.

²⁰Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.

²¹CXu do la legxo kontrauxstaras al la promesoj de Dio? Nepre ne! cxar se estus donita legxo, kiu povus vivigi, efektive justeco estus per la legxo.

²¹Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.

²²Tamen la Skribo kune ensxlosis cxion sub peko, por ke la promeso per fido al Kristo Jesuo estu donata al cxiuj, kiuj fidas.

²²But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

²³Sed antaux ol fido venis, ni estis gardataj sub la legxo, ensxlositaj por la fido malkasxota.

²³But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

²⁴Tial la legxo farigxis nia pedagogo, kondukanta al Kristo, por ke ni pravigxu per fido.

²⁴So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

²⁵Sed nun, post kiam la fido alvenis, ni jam ne estas sub pedagogo.

²⁵But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

²⁶CXar vi cxiuj per la fido estas filoj de Dio en Kristo Jesuo.

²⁶For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

²⁷CXar cxiuj el vi, kiuj al Kristo baptigxis, surmetis al si Kriston.

²⁷For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

²⁸Ne estas ja Judo nek Greko, ne estas sklavo nek liberulo, ne estas ja vira kaj virina; cxar vi cxiuj estas unu en Kristo Jesuo.

²⁸There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

²⁹Se do vi apartenas al Kristo, vere vi estas la idaro de Abraham, kaj heredantoj laux la promeso.

²⁹If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.
