¹Jen estas la vorto, kiu aperis al Jeremia de la Eternulo:

¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

²Starigxu en la pordego de la domo de la Eternulo, kaj tie proklamu cxi tiun vorton, kaj diru:Auxskultu la vorton de la Eternulo, cxiuj Judoj, kiuj venas en cxi tiun pordegon, por adorklinigxi al la Eternulo.

²“Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of Yahweh, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.

³Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Dio de Izrael:Plibonigu vian vojon kaj vian konduton; tiam Mi logxigos vin sur cxi tiu loko.

³Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

⁴Ne fidu la mensogajn vortojn, kiam oni diras al vi:CXi tie estas la templo de la Eternulo, la templo de la Eternulo, la templo de la Eternulo.

⁴Don’t trust in lying words, saying, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.

⁵Nur se vi plibonigos vian vojon kaj vian konduton, se vi agos juste unu rilate la alian,

⁵For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;

⁶se vi ne premos fremdulon, orfon, kaj vidvinon, se vi ne versxos senkulpan sangon sur cxi tiu loko, kaj ne sekvos aliajn diojn por via malfelicxo:

⁶if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:

⁷tiam Mi logxigos vin sur cxi tiu loko, en la lando, kiun Mi donis al viaj patroj, cxiam kaj eterne.

⁷then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forevermore.

⁸Jen vi fidas la mensogajn vortojn, kiuj neniom helpas.

⁸Behold, you trust in lying words, that can’t profit.

⁹SXtelante, mortigante, adultante, jxurante mensoge, incensante al Baal, kaj sekvante aliajn diojn, kiujn vi ne konas,

⁹Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,

¹⁰vi poste venas kaj starigxas antaux Mi en cxi tiu domo, kiu estas nomata per Mia nomo, kaj vi diras:Ni savigxis-kvankam vi plue faras cxiujn tiujn abomenindajxojn!

¹⁰and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations?

¹¹CXu cxi tiun domon, kiu estas nomata per Mia nomo, vi rigardas kiel neston de rabistoj? Mi bone vidas tion, diras la Eternulo.

¹¹Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Yahweh.

¹²Iru do al Mia loko en SXilo, kie Mi antauxe logxigis Mian nomon, kaj rigardu, kion Mi faris al gxi pro la malbonagoj de Mia popolo Izrael.

¹²But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

¹³Kaj nun, cxar vi faras cxiujn tiujn farojn, diras la Eternulo, kaj Mi de frua mateno cxiam parolas al vi, kaj vi ne auxskultas, Mi vokas vin, kaj vi ne respondas:

¹³Now, because you have done all these works, says Yahweh, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you didn’t hear; and I called you, but you didn’t answer:

¹⁴tial al la domo, kiu estas nomata per Mia nomo kaj kiun vi fidas, kaj al la loko, kiun Mi donis al vi kaj al viaj patroj, Mi faros tiel, kiel Mi faris al SXilo.

¹⁴therefore will I do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

¹⁵Mi forpusxos vin de antaux Mi, kiel Mi forpusxis cxiujn viajn fratojn, la tutan idaron de Efraim.

¹⁵I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

¹⁶Kaj vi ne pregxu por cxi tiu popolo kaj ne direktu por ili supren krion kaj pregxon kaj ne klopodu antaux Mi, cxar Mi ne auxskultos vin.

¹⁶Therefore don’t pray for this people, neither lift up a cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.

¹⁷CXu vi ne vidas, kion ili faras en la urboj de Judujo kaj sur la stratoj de Jerusalem?

¹⁷Don’t you see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

¹⁸La filoj kolektas la lignon, kaj la patroj ekbruligas la fajron, kaj la virinoj knedas la paston, por fari kukojn por la regxino de la cxielo, kaj ili faras versxoferojn al aliaj dioj, por cxagreni Min.

¹⁸The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

¹⁹Sed cxu Min ili cxagrenas? diras la Eternulo; cxu ne sin mem, por hontigi sian vizagxon?

¹⁹Do they provoke me to anger? says Yahweh. Don’t they provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?

²⁰Tial tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo:Jen Mia kolero kaj indigno elversxigxos sur cxi tiun lokon, sur la homojn kaj sur la brutojn kaj sur la arbojn de la kampo kaj sur la fruktojn de la tero; gxi ekflamos kaj ne estingigxos.

²⁰Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

²¹Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Dio de Izrael:Aldonu viajn bruloferojn al viaj bucxoferoj, kaj mangxu la viandon;

²¹Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat meat.

²²cxar Mi ne parolis al viaj patroj kaj Mi ne ordonis al ili pri bruloferoj kaj bucxoferoj en la tago, kiam Mi elkondukis ilin el la lando Egipta;

²²For I didn’t speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

²³nur cxi tion Mi ordonis al ili:Auxskultu Mian vocxon, kaj Mi estos via Dio, kaj vi estos Mia popolo, kaj iru laux la tuta vojo, kiun Mi montros al vi, por ke estu al vi bone.

²³but this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.

²⁴Sed ili ne auxskultis kaj ne alklinis sian orelon, ili agis laux siaj propraj pensoj, laux la obstineco de sia malbona koro, kaj ili iris malantauxen, ne antauxen.

²⁴But they didn’t listen nor turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

²⁵De post la tago, kiam viaj patroj eliris el la lando Egipta, gxis la nuna tago Mi sendadis al vi cxiujn Miajn servantojn, la profetojn, cxiutage Mi sendis;

²⁵Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

²⁶sed ili ne auxskultis Min kaj ne alklinis sian orelon, ili obstinigis sian nukon, agis pli malbone ol iliaj patroj.

²⁶yet they didn’t listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.

²⁷Kaj kiam vi diros al ili cxion cxi tion, ili ne auxskultos vin; kiam vi vokos ilin, ili ne respondos al vi.

²⁷You shall speak all these words to them; but they will not listen to you: you shall also call to them; but they will not answer you.

²⁸Diru do al ili:Jen estas popolo, kiu ne auxskultas la vocxon de la Eternulo, sia Dio, kaj ne akceptas moralinstruon; la kredo malaperis kaj estas ekstermita el ilia busxo.

²⁸You shall tell them, This is the nation that has not listened to the voice of Yahweh their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

²⁹Detondu viajn harojn kaj forjxetu ilin, kantu funebran kanton sur la altajxoj; cxar la Eternulo forrifuzis kaj forpusxis la generacion, kiun Li koleras.

²⁹Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Yahweh has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

³⁰CXar la filoj de Jehuda faras malbonon antaux Miaj okuloj, diras la Eternulo; siajn abomenindajxojn ili metis en la domon, kiu estas nomata per Mia nomo, por malpurigi gxin.

³⁰For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, says Yahweh: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

³¹Ili arangxis altajxojn de Tofet en la valo de la filo de Hinom, por bruligi siajn filojn kaj siajn filinojn en fajro, kion Mi ne ordonis kaj kio neniam estis en Miaj pensoj.

³¹They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I didn’t command, nor did it come into my mind.

³²Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.

³³Kaj la kadavroj de cxi tiu popolo estos mangxajxo por la birdoj de la cxielo kaj por la bestoj de la tero, kiujn neniu fortimigos.

³³The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.

³⁴Kaj Mi cxesigos en la urboj de Judujo kaj sur la stratoj de Jerusalem la sonojn de gxojo kaj la sonojn de gajeco, la vocxon de fiancxo kaj la vocxon de fiancxino; cxar la lando farigxos dezerto.

³⁴Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.
