¹En tiu tempo, diras la Eternulo, oni eljxetos el iliaj tomboj la ostojn de la regxoj de Judujo kaj la ostojn de gxiaj princoj kaj la ostojn de la pastroj kaj la ostojn de la profetoj kaj la ostojn de la logxantoj de Jerusalem;

¹At that time, says Yahweh, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;

²kaj oni disjxetos ilin antaux la suno kaj antaux la luno kaj antaux la tuta armeo de la cxielo, kiujn ili amis, al kiuj ili servis, kiujn ili sekvis, kiujn ili sercxis, kaj al kiuj ili adorklinigxis; oni ne kolektos ilin kaj ne enterigos ilin, sed ili estos kiel sterko sur la suprajxo de la tero.

²and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the army of the sky, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried, they shall be for dung on the surface of the earth.

³Kaj preferos la morton ol la vivon cxiuj restintoj, kiuj restos el tiu malbona gento, kiuj restos en cxiuj lokoj, sur kiujn Mi dispelis ilin, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.

³Death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places where I have driven them, says Yahweh of Armies.

⁴Kaj diru al ili:Tiele diras la Eternulo:CXu se oni falis, oni ne levigxas? cxu se oni devojigxis, oni ne volas reveni?

⁴Moreover you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: Shall men fall, and not rise up again? Shall one turn away, and not return?

⁵Kial do cxi tiu popolo en Jerusalem defalis per defalo obstina? ili forte sin tenas je la malverajxo kaj ne volas sin konverti.

⁵Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

⁶Mi atentis kaj auxskultis, sed ili parolas nenion gxustan; neniu pentas sian malbonecon, dirante:Kion mi faris? CXiu fordonis sin al sia kurado, kiel cxevalo, kiu flugrapide kuras en la batalon.

⁶I listened and heard, but they didn’t speak aright: no man repents him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.

⁷Ecx cikonio sub la cxielo scias sian tempon, turto, hirundo, kaj gruo observas la tempon, kiam ili devas veni; sed Mia popolo ne scias la legxon de la Eternulo.

⁷Yes, the stork in the sky knows her appointed times; and the turtledove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people don’t know Yahweh’s law.

⁸Kiel vi diras:Ni estas sagxuloj, kaj ni havas antaux ni la instruon de la Eternulo? GXi farigxis ja mensogajxo per la mensoga skribilo de la skribistoj.

⁸How do you say, We are wise, and the law of Yahweh is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.

⁹Per honto kovris sin la sagxuloj, konfuzigxis kaj implikigxis; jen ili forrifuzis la vorton de la Eternulo, kian do sagxecon ili havas?

⁹The wise men are disappointed, they are dismayed and taken: behold, they have rejected the word of Yahweh; and what kind of wisdom is in them?

¹⁰Tial Mi fordonos iliajn edzinojn al aliuloj, iliajn kampojn al venkintoj; cxar de malgrandulo gxis grandulo ili cxiuj estas profitavidaj, de profeto gxis pastro ili cxiuj faras malhonestajxon.

¹⁰Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall possess them: for everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.

¹¹Kaj la vundojn de la filino de Mia popolo ili kuracas per facilanimigo, dirante, ke cxio estas en bona stato, kvankam ne estas bona stato.

¹¹They have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

¹²CXu ili hontas, ke ili faras abomenindajxon? ili tute ne hontas, ili ecx ne povoscias rugxigxi; tial ili falos inter la falantoj, ili renversigxos, kiam Mi vizitos ilin, diras la Eternulo.

¹²Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among those who fall; in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, says Yahweh.

¹³Mi plene sxirkolektos ilin, diras la Eternulo; ne restos beroj sur la vinberbrancxo nek figoj sur la figarbo, kaj la folioj forvelkos, kaj Mi donos al ili plenan pereon.

¹³I will utterly consume them, says Yahweh: no grapes shall be on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

¹⁴Por kio ni sidas? kolektigxu, kaj ni iru en la fortikigitajn urbojn, kaj ni tie pereu; cxar la Eternulo, nia Dio, pereigas nin kaj trinkigas al ni akvon maldolcxan pro tio, ke ni pekis antaux la Eternulo.

¹⁴Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.

¹⁵Ni esperis pacon, sed venas nenio bona; ni esperis tempon de resanigxo, sed jen estas teruro.

¹⁵We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!

¹⁶El la regiono de Dan oni auxdas spiregadon de iliaj cxevaloj; de la blekegado de iliaj fortaj cxevaloj tremas la tuta tero; ili iras, kaj ili formangxos la teron, kaj tion, kio estas sur gxi, la urbon kaj gxiajn logxantojn.

¹⁶The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones the whole land trembles; for they have come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it; the city and those who dwell therein.

¹⁷CXar jen Mi sendos sur vin serpentojn, vipurojn, kiujn oni ne povas sorcxligi, kaj ili pikos vin, diras la Eternulo.

¹⁷For, behold, I will send serpents, adders, among you, which will not be charmed; and they shall bite you, says Yahweh.

¹⁸Mia malgxojo estas super cxiuj malgxojoj, mia koro en mi doloras.

¹⁸Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! My heart is faint within me.

¹⁹Jen mi auxdas kriadon de la filino de mia popolo el lando malproksima:CXu jam ne ekzistas la Eternulo en Cion? cxu gxia Regxo ne estas en gxi? Sed kial ili kolerigis min per siaj idoloj, per fremdaj vantajxoj?

¹⁹Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: isn’t Yahweh in Zion? Isn’t her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign vanities?

²⁰Pasis la rikolto, finigxis la somero, sed ni ne ricevis helpon.

²⁰The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

²¹La malfelicxo de mia popolo min afliktas, mi malgxojas, mi sentas teruron.

²¹For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt: I mourn; dismay has taken hold on me.

²²CXu ne ekzistas balzamo en Gilead? cxu ne ekzistas tie kuracisto? kial do ne venas resanigxo al la filino de mia popolo?

²²Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? why then isn’t the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
