¹Kaj denove li komencis instrui apud la maro. Kaj kolektigxis al li tre granda homamaso tiel, ke li eniris en sxipeton, kaj sidis sur la maro; kaj la tuta homamaso estis sur la tero apud la maro.

¹Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea, and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea.

²Kaj li multe instruis ilin per paraboloj, kaj diris al ili en sia instruado:

²He taught them many things in parables, and told them in his teaching,

³Auxskultu:jen semisto eliris, por semi;

³ “Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow,

⁴kaj dum li semis, iuj semoj falis apud la vojo, kaj la birdoj venis kaj formangxis ilin.

⁴ and it happened, as he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds TR adds “of the air” came and devoured it.

⁵Kaj aliaj falis sur sxtonan lokon, kie ili ne havis multe da tero; kaj tuj ili ekkreskis, cxar ili ne havis profundecon de tero;

⁵ Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil.

⁶kaj kiam la suno levigxis, ili brulsekigxis, kaj cxar ili ne havis radikon, ili forvelkis.

⁶ When the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

⁷Kaj aliaj falis inter dornojn, kaj la dornoj kreskis kaj sufokis ilin, kaj ili ne donis frukton.

⁷ Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

⁸Kaj aliaj falis en la bonan teron, kaj donis frukton, kreskante kaj multobligxante, kaj produktis tridekoble kaj sesdekoble kaj centoble.

⁸ Others fell into the good ground, and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some brought forth thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much.”

⁹Kaj li diris:Kiu havas orelojn por auxdi, tiu auxdu.

⁹He said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

¹⁰Kaj kiam li estis sola, tiuj, kiuj alestis kune kun la dek du, demandis lin pri la paraboloj.

¹⁰When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

¹¹Kaj li diris al ili:Al vi estas donite scii la misteron de la regno de Dio; sed al tiuj, kiuj estas ekstere, cxio estas farata per paraboloj;

¹¹He said to them, “To you is given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables,

¹²por ke, vidante, ili vidu, sed ne rimarku; kaj auxdante, ili auxdu, sed ne komprenu; por ke neniam ili konvertigxu kaj pardonigxu.

¹² that ‘seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’” Isaiah 6:9-10

¹³Kaj li diris al ili:CXu vi ne scias cxi tiun parabolon? kiel do vi povos kompreni cxiujn parabolojn?

¹³He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?

¹⁴La semisto semas la vorton.

¹⁴ The farmer sows the word.

¹⁵Jen do tiuj, kiuj estas apud la vojo, kie estas semata la vorto; kaj kiam ili auxdis, tuj venas Satano, kaj forprenas la vorton, en ili semitan.

¹⁵ The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which has been sown in them.

¹⁶Kaj tiel same jen la semitaj cxe la sxtonaj lokoj:ili auxdas la vorton, kaj tuj kun gxojo akceptas gxin;

¹⁶ These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy.

¹⁷kaj ili ne havas en si radikon, sed restas nur portempe; kiam do venas sufero aux persekuto pro la vorto, tuj ili falpusxigxas.

¹⁷ They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.

¹⁸Kaj jen la semitaj cxe la dornoj:tiuj, kiuj auxdis la vorton;

¹⁸ Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word,

¹⁹sed la zorgoj de la mondo kaj la trompo de ricxo kaj la deziroj al aliaj aferoj, enirante, sufokas la vorton, kaj gxi farigxas senfrukta.

¹⁹ and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

²⁰Kaj jen la semitaj cxe la bona tero:tiuj, kiuj auxdas la vorton kaj akceptas gxin, kaj donas frukton, jen tridekoble, kaj jen sesdekoble, kaj jen centoble.

²⁰ Those which were sown on the good ground are those who hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, some thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times.”

²¹Kaj li diris al ili:CXu lampo enportigxas, por esti metita sub grenmezurilon aux sub liton, kaj ne por stari sur la lampingo?

²¹He said to them, “Is the lamp brought to be put under a basket literally, a modion, a dry measuring basket containing about a peck (about 9 litres) or under a bed? Isn’t it put on a stand?

²²CXar nenio estas kasxita krom por tio, ke gxi estu malkasxita; nek io estas sekreta krom por tio, ke gxi estu aperigita.

²² For there is nothing hidden, except that it should be made known; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light.

²³Se iu havas orelojn por auxdi, tiu auxdu.

²³ If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.”

²⁴Kaj li diris al ili:Atentu, kion vi auxdas; per kia mezuro vi mezuras, laux tiu sama oni mezuros al vi, kaj ecx faros al vi aldonon.

²⁴He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you who hear.

²⁵CXar al tiu, kiu havas, estos donite; sed for de tiu, kiu ne havas, estos prenita ecx tio, kion li havas.

²⁵ For whoever has, to him will more be given, and he who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.”

²⁶Kaj li diris:Tia estas la regno de Dio, kvazaux homo jxetus semojn sur la teron,

²⁶He said, “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed on the earth,

²⁷kaj dormus kaj levigxus nokte kaj tage, kaj la semoj burgxonus kaj kreskus, li ne scias kiel.

²⁷ and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he doesn’t know how.

²⁸Auxtomate la tero donas frukton, unue folion, poste spikon, poste plenan grenon en spiko.

²⁸ For the earth bears fruit: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

²⁹Sed kiam la frukto estas preta, li tuj svingas la rikoltilon, cxar venis la rikolto.

²⁹ But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

³⁰Kaj li diris:Al kio ni komparu la regnon de Dio? aux per kia parabolo ni montru gxin?

³⁰He said, “How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it?

³¹Al sinapa semeto, kiu, kiam gxi estas semita sur la teron, estas pli malgranda ol cxiuj aliaj semoj, kiuj estas sur la tero,

³¹ It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth,

³²tamen semite, kreskas kaj farigxas pli granda ol cxiuj legomoj, kaj elmetas grandajn brancxojn, tiel ke sub gxia ombro povas eklogxi la birdoj de la cxielo.

³² yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”

³³Kaj per multaj tiaj paraboloj li parolis al ili la vorton laux tio, kiel ili povis auxskulti;

³³With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it.

³⁴kaj sen parabolo li ne parolis al ili; sed private li klarigis cxion al siaj discxiploj.

³⁴Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

³⁵Kaj en tiu tago, kiam vesperigxis, li diris al ili:Ni transiru al la alia bordo.

³⁵On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side.”

³⁶Kaj forsendinte la homamason, ili kondukis lin kun si, kiel li estis en la sxipeto. Kaj aliaj sxipetoj akompanis lin.

³⁶Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him.

³⁷Kaj okazis granda ventego, kaj ondoj batis en la sxipeton, tiel ke la sxipeto estis jam plenigxanta.

³⁷A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.

³⁸Kaj li estis dormanta en la posta parto sur la kuseno; kaj ili vekis lin, kaj diris al li:Majstro, cxu vi ne zorgas pri tio, ke ni pereas?

³⁸He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?”

³⁹Kaj vekite, li admonis la venton, kaj diris al la maro:Silentu, kvietigxu. Kaj la vento cxesigxis, kaj farigxis granda sereno.

³⁹He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

⁴⁰Kaj li diris al ili:Kial vi estas timemaj? cxu vi ankoraux ne havas fidon?

⁴⁰He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?”

⁴¹Kaj ili timis treege, kaj diris unu al alia:Kiu do estas cxi tiu? cxar ecx la vento kaj la maro obeas al li.

⁴¹They were greatly afraid, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
