¹Tiam alvenis al Jesuo el Jerusalem Fariseoj kaj skribistoj, dirante:

¹Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,

²Kial viaj discxiploj transpasxas la tradicion de la antauxuloj? cxar ili ne lavas siajn manojn, kiam ili mangxas panon.

²“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”

³Kaj li responde diris al ili:Kial vi ankaux transpasxas la ordonon de Dio per via tradicio?

³He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

⁴CXar Dio diris:Respektu vian patron kaj vian patrinon; kaj:Kiu malbenas sian patron aux sian patrinon, tiu nepre mortu.

⁴ For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9

⁵Sed vi diras:Se iu diros al sia patro aux al sia patrino:Oferdono estu tio, per kio vi povus profiti de mi,

⁵ But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”

⁶tiu ne devas respekti sian patron aux sian patrinon. Kaj vi vantigis la vorton de Dio per via tradicio.

⁶ he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.

⁷Ho hipokrituloj, bone profetis Jesaja pri vi, dirante:

⁷ You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,

⁸CXi tiu popolo honoras Min per siaj lipoj, Sed ilia koro estas malproksime de Mi.

⁸ ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

⁹Sed vane ili Min adoras, Instruante kiel doktrinojn ordonojn de homoj.

⁹ And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’” Isaiah 29:13

¹⁰He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.

¹¹ That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”

¹²Then the disciples came, and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?”

¹³Sed li responde diris:CXiu kreskajxo, kiun mia cxiela Patro ne plantis, estos elradikigita.

¹³But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.

¹⁴Lasu ilin; ili estas blindaj kondukantoj de blinduloj. Kaj se blindulo kondukos blindulon, ambaux falos en fosajxon.

¹⁴ Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

¹⁵Kaj Petro responde diris al li:Klarigu al ni tiun parabolon.

¹⁵Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”

¹⁶Kaj li diris:CXu vi ankaux estas ecx ankoraux sen kompreno?

¹⁶So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?

¹⁷CXu vi ne konscias, ke cxio, eniranta en la busxon, pasas en la ventron kaj estas eljxetata en apartan lokon?

¹⁷ Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and then out of the body?

¹⁸Sed tio, kio eliras el la busxo, elvenas el la koro, kaj profanas la homon.

¹⁸ But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.

¹⁹CXar el la koro eliras malvirtaj pensoj, mortigoj, adultoj, malcxastajxoj, sxteloj, falsatestoj, blasfemoj:

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.

²⁰jen tio, kio profanas la homon, sed mangxi kun manoj nelavitaj ne profanas la homon.

²⁰ These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”

²¹Kaj elirinte de tie, Jesuo foriris en la regionojn apud Tiro kaj Cidon.

²¹Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

²²Kaj jen virino Kanaana, veninte el tiuj limlandoj, kriis, dirante:Ho Sinjoro, filo de David, kompatu min; mia filino estas terure turmentata de demono.

²²Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely demonized!”

²³Sed li ne respondis al sxi ecx unu vorton. Kaj alveninte, liaj discxiploj petis lin, dirante:Forsendu sxin, cxar sxi krias post ni.

²³But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”

²⁴Kaj li responde diris:Mi ne estas sendita, krom al la perditaj sxafoj el la domo de Izrael.

²⁴But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

²⁵Sed sxi venis kaj adorklinigxis al li, dirante:Sinjoro, helpu min.

²⁵But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”

²⁶Sed li responde diris:Ne decas preni la panon de la infanoj kaj jxeti gxin al la hundetoj.

²⁶But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁷Sed sxi diris:Jes, Sinjoro; cxar ecx la hundetoj mangxas el la panpecetoj, kiuj falas de la tablo de iliaj sinjoroj.

²⁷But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

²⁸Tiam responde Jesuo diris al sxi:Ho virino, granda estas via fido; estu al vi, kiel vi volas. Kaj sxia filino estis sanigita de post tiu horo.

²⁸Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

²⁹Kaj transirinte de tie, Jesuo venis apud la maron de Galileo; kaj suprenirinte sur la monton, li sidigxis tie.

²⁹Jesus departed there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.

³⁰Kaj alvenis al li grandaj homamasoj, havante kun si homojn lamajn, blindajn, mutajn, kriplajn, kun multaj aliaj, kaj metis ilin apud liajn piedojn; kaj li sanigis ilin;

³⁰Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,

³¹tiel ke la homamaso miris, vidante mutulojn parolantaj, kriplulojn sanaj, kaj lamulojn piedirantaj, kaj blindulojn vidantaj; kaj ili gloris la Dion de Izrael.

³¹so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, injured whole, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.

³²Kaj Jesuo, alvokinte al si siajn discxiplojn, diris:Mi kortusxigxas pro la homamaso, cxar jam tri tagojn ili restas cxe mi, kaj nenion havas mangxi; kaj mi ne volas forsendi ilin fastantaj, por ke ili ne lacigxu sur la vojo.

³²Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”

³³Kaj la discxiploj diris al li:De kie ni povas ricevi en la dezerto tiom da panoj, por satigi tiom da homoj?

³³The disciples said to him, “Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”

³⁴Kaj Jesuo diris al ili:Kiom da panoj vi havas? Kaj ili diris:Sep, kaj kelkajn malgrandajn fisxojn.

³⁴Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”

³⁵Kaj li ordonis al la homamaso sidigxi sur la tero;

³⁵He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;

³⁶kaj li prenis la sep panojn kaj la fisxojn; kaj doninte dankon, li dispecigis ilin, kaj donis al la discxiploj, kaj la discxiploj al la homamasoj.

³⁶and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.

³⁷They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

³⁸Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

³⁹Kaj forsendinte la homamasojn, li eniris en la sxipeton, kaj venis en la regionojn de Magadan.

³⁹Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
