¹Kion do, ni diros, trovis Abraham, nia praavo laux la karno?

¹What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?

²CXar se Abraham pravigxis per faroj, li havas ion, pri kio fieri, sed ne antaux Dio.

²For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God.

³CXar kion diras la Skribo? Kaj Abraham kredis al Dio, kaj tio estis kalkulita al li kiel virto.

³For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:6

⁴Al tiu, kiu laboras, la salajro estas kalkulata ne kiel favoro, sed kiel sxuldo.

⁴Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.

⁹CXu do cxi tiu felicxo apartenas al la cirkumcidularo, aux al la necirkumcidularo ankaux? CXar ni diras, ke al Abraham la fido estis kalkulita kiel virto.

⁹Is this blessing then pronounced on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.

¹⁰Kiel do gxi estis kalkulita? kiam li estis en cirkumcido, aux en necirkumcido? Ne en cirkumcido, sed en necirkumcido;

¹⁰How then was it counted? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

¹¹kaj li ricevis la signon de cirkumcido, kiel sigelon de la virto de la fido, kiu ekzistis en lia necirkumcido; por ke li estu la patro de cxiuj, kiuj ankoraux en necirkumcido kredas, por ke virto estu kalkulata al ili;

¹¹He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they might be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might also be accounted to them.

¹²kaj la patro de cirkumcido al tiuj, kiuj ne nur estas anoj de la cirkumcido, sed kiuj ankaux sekvas la pasxojn de tiu fido, kiun nia patro Abraham havis dum sia necirkumcido.

¹²He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.

¹³CXar ne per la legxo farigxis la promeso al Abraham aux al lia idaro, ke li estos heredanto de la mondo, sed per la virto el fido.

¹³For the promise to Abraham and to his seed that he should be heir of the world wasn’t through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

¹⁴CXar se tiuj, kiuj estas laux la legxo, estas heredantoj, la fido nuligxis, kaj la promeso vantigxis;

¹⁴For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.

¹⁵cxar la legxo elfaras koleron; sed kie ne ekzistas legxo, tie ankaux ne ekzistas transpasxo.

¹⁵For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

¹⁶GXi do estas el fido por tio, ke gxi estu laux graco; por ke la promeso estu firma al la tuta idaro, ne nur al tiu, kiu estas el la legxo, sed ankaux al tiu, kiu estas el la fido de Abraham, kiu estas la patro de ni cxiuj

¹⁶For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

¹⁷As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” Genesis 17:5 This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.

¹⁸Li ekster espero kredis en espero, por ke li farigxu patro de multe da popoloj, laux la diritajxo:Tiel estos via idaro.

¹⁸Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, “So will your seed be.” Genesis 15:5

¹⁹Kaj ne senfortigite en fido, li pripensis sian propran korpon jam pereintan (estante preskaux centjara), kaj la senvivecon de la utero de Sara;

¹⁹Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

²⁰tamen pri la promeso de Dio li ne sxanceligxis en nekredemo, sed fortigxis per fido, donante la gloron al Dio,

²⁰Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God,

²¹kaj plene certigite, ke tion, kion Li promesis, Li povas ankaux fari.

²¹and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.

²²Tial gxi estis kalkulita al li kiel virto.

²²Therefore it also was “reckoned to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:6

²³Kaj ne por li sola estis skribite, ke gxi estis kalkulita al li;

²³Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone,

²⁴sed ankaux por ni, al kiuj gxi estos kalkulata, kaj kiuj kredas al Tiu, kiu levis el la mortintoj Jesuon, nian Sinjoron,

²⁴but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead,

²⁵kiu estis transdonita pro niaj pekoj kaj estis relevita por nia pravigo.

²⁵who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
