¹Ja ta ütles Moosesele: 'Astuge üles Issanda juurde, sina ise, Aaron, Naadab, Abihu ja seitsekümmend Iisraeli vanemaist, ja kummardage eemalt!

¹And he said to Moses, Go up to Jehovah, thou and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship afar off.

²Mooses üksi liginegu Issandale, teised aga ei tohi lähedale tulla ja rahvas ei tohi minna üles koos temaga!'

²And let Moses alone come near Jehovah; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.

³Ja Mooses tuli ning jutustas rahvale kõigist Issanda sõnadest ja kõigist seadlustest. Ja kogu rahvas vastas ühehäälselt, öeldes: 'Me tahame teha iga sõna järgi, mis Issand on rääkinud!'

³And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words that Jehovah has said will we do!

⁴Ja Mooses kirjutas üles kõik Issanda sõnad. Ja ta tõusis hommikul vara ning püstitas mäe alla altari ja kaksteist sammast vastavalt Iisraeli kaheteistkümnele suguharule.

⁴And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁵Ja ta läkitas Iisraeli laste noori mehi ohverdama põletusohvreid ja tapma härjavärsse tänuohvriks Issandale.

⁵And he sent the youths of the children of Israel, and they offered up burnt-offerings, and sacrificed sacrifices of peace-offering of bullocks to Jehovah.

⁶Ja Mooses võttis poole verest ning pani kausikestesse, aga teise poole verest ta piserdas altarile.

⁶And Moses took half the blood, and put [it] in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

⁷Siis ta võttis seaduseraamatu ja luges rahva kuuldes. Ja nad ütlesid: 'Kõik, mida Issand on käskinud, me teeme ja võtame kuulda!'

⁷And he took the book of the covenant, and read [it] in the ears of the people; and they said, All that Jehovah has said will we do, and obey!

⁸Ja Mooses võttis verd ning piserdas rahva peale, öeldes: 'Vaata, see on selle lepingu veri, mille Issand teiega on teinud kõigi nende sõnade põhjal!'

⁸And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled [it] on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant that Jehovah has made with you concerning all these words.

⁹Seejärel Mooses, Aaron, Naadab, Abihu ja seitsekümmend Iisraeli vanemaist läksid üles,

⁹And Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up;

¹⁰ja nad nägid Iisraeli Jumalat: tema jalge all oli nagu safiiridest tehtud põrand - otsekui taevas ise oma selguses.

¹⁰and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were work of transparent sapphire, and as it were the form of heaven for clearness.

¹¹Aga ta ei tõstnud oma kätt Iisraeli laste ülemate vastu, vaid need võisid Jumalat vaadata ning süüa ja juua.

¹¹And on the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: they saw God, and ate and drank.

¹²Ja Issand ütles Moosesele: 'Tule üles minu juurde mäele ja ole siin, siis ma annan sulle kivilauad ning Seaduse ja käsud, mis ma olen kirjutanud neile õpetuseks!'

¹²And Jehovah said to Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the commandment that I have written, for their instruction.

¹³Ja Mooses läks teele koos oma teenri Joosuaga; ja Mooses läks üles Jumala mäele.

¹³And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant; and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

¹⁴Aga vanemaile ta ütles: 'Jääge teie siia, kuni me tuleme tagasi teie juurde! Ja vaata, Aaron ja Huur on teie juures. Kellel on mingi põhjus, mingu nende juurde!'

¹⁴And he said to the elders, Wait here for us, until we return to you; and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matter, let him come before them.

¹⁵Ja Mooses läks mäele ning pilv kattis mäe.

¹⁵And Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

¹⁶Ja Issanda auhiilgus laskus Siinai mäele ja pilv kattis seda kuus päeva; seitsmendal päeval hüüdis ta pilve seest Moosest.

¹⁶And the glory of Jehovah abode on mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

¹⁷Ja Issanda auhiilguse ilmutus oli Iisraeli laste silmis otsekui hävitav tuli mäetipus.

¹⁷And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain, before the eyes of the children of Israel.

¹⁸Mooses läks pilve keskele ning tõusis üles mäele. Ja Mooses oli mäe peal nelikümmend päeva ja nelikümmend ööd.

¹⁸And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and ascended the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
