¹Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.

²Nõnda öelgu Issanda lunastatud, keda tema on lunastanud kitsikusest

²Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

³ja on kogunud võõrailt mailt, hommiku poolt ja õhtu poolt, põhja poolt ja lõuna poolt.

³And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

⁴Nad ekslesid kõrbes, tühjal maal, ega leidnud teed linna, kuhu asuda.

⁴They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

⁵Neil oli nälg ja janu, nende hing nõrkes nende sees.

⁵Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

⁶Aga oma ahastuses nad kisendasid Issanda poole ja tema kiskus nad välja nende kitsikustest

⁶Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,

⁷And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

⁸Tänagu nad Issandat ta helduse eest ja tema imeliste tegude eest inimlastele,

⁸Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

⁹et ta kosutas janunevat hinge ja täitis nälgiva hinge heaga.

⁹For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

¹⁰Nad istusid pimeduses ja surmavarjus, olid vangis viletsuses ja raudus,

¹⁰Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

¹¹sest nad olid tõrkunud vastu Jumala sõnadele ja olid põlanud Kõigekõrgema nõuannet.

¹¹Because they had rebelled against the words of ùGod, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...

¹²Siis ta alandas nende südant vaevadega; nad komistasid, ja ei olnud aitajat.

¹²And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

¹³Aga oma ahastuses nad kisendasid Issanda poole ja tema päästis nad nende kitsikustest.

¹³Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;

¹⁴Ta viis nad välja pimedusest ja surmavarjust ning rebis katki nende köidikud.

¹⁴He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

¹⁵Tänagu nad Issandat ta helduse eest ja tema imeliste tegude eest inimlastele!

¹⁵Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

¹⁶Sest tema on katki murdnud vaskuksed ja puruks raiunud raudriivid.

¹⁶For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

¹⁷Nad olid meeletud oma üleastumise tee tõttu ja nad said näha vaeva oma pahategude pärast.

¹⁷Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

¹⁸Iga toit oli neile jäle ja nad olid juba surmaväravate lähedal.

¹⁸Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

¹⁹Aga oma ahastuses nad kisendasid Issanda poole ja tema päästis nad nende kitsikustest.

¹⁹Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;

²⁰Ta läkitas neile oma sõna ja tervendas nad ning päästis nad haua veerelt.

²⁰He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

²¹Tänagu nad Issandat ta helduse eest ja tema imeliste tegude eest inimlastele

²¹Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

²²ja ohverdagu tänuohvreid ning jutustagu tema tegusid hõiskamisega!

²²And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

²³Nad sõitsid laevadega merel ja toimetasid asju suurtel vetel.

²³They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

²⁴Nad nägid Issanda tegusid ja tema imetöid meresügavustes.

²⁴These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

²⁵Sest ta ütles sõna ning laskis tõusta marutuule ja tõstis merelained kõrgele.

²⁵For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

²⁶Need tõusid üles taeva poole ja vajusid alla sügavikesse, nende julgus hääbus hädaohus.

²⁶They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

²⁷Nad taarusid ja tuikusid nagu joobnud ja kogu nende tarkus oli ära neelatud.

²⁷They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

²⁸Aga oma ahastuses nad kisendasid Issanda poole ja tema päästis nad nende kitsikustest.

²⁸Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

²⁹Ta muutis maru vaikseks ilmaks ja vete lained jäid vakka.

²⁹He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

³⁰Siis nad rõõmustasid, kui lained soiku jäid, ja ta viis nad igatsetud sadamasse.

³⁰And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

³¹Tänagu nad Issandat ta helduse eest ja tema imeliste tegude eest inimlastele

³¹Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

³²ning ülistagu teda rahvakogus ja kiitku vanemate koosolekul!

³²Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

³³Tema tegi jõed kõrbeks ja veelätted kuivaks maaks,

³³He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

³⁴viljamaa soolanõmmeks tema elanike kurjuse pärast.

³⁴A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

³⁵Tema tegi kõrbe järveks ja põuase maa veelätteks,

³⁵He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

³⁶ja pani sinna elama näljased, ja need asutasid linna, kus elada.

³⁶And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

³⁷Ja nad seemendasid põldusid ja istutasid viinamägesid, ja nad said hea viljasaagi.

³⁷And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

³⁸Ja tema õnnistas neid, ja neid sai väga palju, ka nende loomi ta ei vähendanud.

³⁸And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

³⁹Aga siis nad vähenesid ja raugesid õnnetuste ja murede läbi.

³⁹And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

⁴⁰Kuid tema, kes valab põlgust vürstide peale ja paneb nad eksima tühjal maal, kus ei ole teed,

⁴⁰He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

⁴¹tema ülendas vaese viletsusest ja pani tema suguvõsa sigima nagu lambakarja.

⁴¹But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.

⁴²Õiglased näevad seda ja rõõmustavad, ja kõik ülekohus peab oma suu kinni.

⁴²The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

⁴³Kes tark on, see pidagu seda meeles, ja Issanda heldust pandagu tähele!

⁴³Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.
