¹Halleluuja! Õnnis on mees, kes kardab Issandat, kellele väga meeldivad ta käsud.

¹Hallelujah! Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

²Võimsaks saab tema seeme maa peal, õiglaste sugu õnnistatakse.

²His seed shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

³Vara ja rikkus on tema kojas ja tema õigus püsib ikka.

³Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house; and his righteousness abideth for ever.

⁴Pimeduses tõuseb õiglastele valgus, armuline ja halastav ja õige.

⁴Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

⁵Õnnis on mees, kes on armuline ja annab laenuks, kes oma asju ajab õigluses.

⁵It is well with the man that is gracious and lendeth; he will sustain his cause in judgment.

⁶Sest ta ei kõigu iialgi; igaveseks mälestuseks jääb õige.

⁶For he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

⁷Ei ta karda õnnetuse sõnumit, tema süda on kindel, ta loodab Issanda peale.

⁷He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed confiding in Jehovah;

⁸Tema süda on toetatud, ta ei karda, kuni ta viimaks parastab oma vaenlasi.

⁸His heart is maintained, he is not afraid, until he see [his desire] upon his oppressors.

⁹Ta jagab välja rikkalikult ja annab vaestele; tema õigus püsib ikka, tema sarv on kõrgel au sees.

⁹He scattereth abroad, he giveth to the needy; his righteousness abideth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.

¹⁰Õel näeb seda ja saab pahaseks, ta kiristab hambaid ja nõrkeb. Õelate igatsused lähevad tühja.

¹⁰The wicked [man] shall see [it] and be vexed; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
