¹{A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.} Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

²Issand, ära nuhtle mind oma vihas ja ära karista mind oma vihaleegis!

²For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand cometh down upon me.

³Sest sinu nooled on alla tulnud mu sisse ja su käsi vajub mu peale.

³There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; no peace in my bones, because of my sin.

⁴Ei ole midagi tervet mu lihas sinu pahameele pärast; ei ole rahu mu kontides mu patu pärast.

⁴For mine iniquities are gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

⁵Sest kõik mu pahateod ulatuvad üle mu pea; nagu raske koorem on need läinud rängemaks, kui ma suudan kanda.

⁵My wounds stink, they are corrupt, because of my foolishness.

⁶Mu haavad haisevad ja mädanevad mu jõleduste pärast.

⁶I am depressed; I am bowed down beyond measure; I go mourning all the day.

⁷Ma olen küürus ja kõnnin kummargil, ma käin kurvalt kogu päeva.

⁷For my loins are full of burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

⁸Sest mu puusad on täis põletikku ega ole midagi tervet mu lihas.

⁸I am faint and broken beyond measure; I roar by reason of the agitation of my heart.

⁹Ma olen jõuetu ja puruks pekstud koguni; ma oigan oma südame ägamise pärast.

⁹Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my sighing is not hid from thee.

¹⁰Issand, kõik mu igatsus on sinu ees, ja mu ohkamine pole peidetud sinu eest.

¹⁰My heart throbbeth, my strength hath left me; and the light of mine eyes, it also is no more with me.

¹¹Mu süda peksleb väga, mu ramm on mu hüljanud ja mu silma selgustki ei ole mul enam.

¹¹My lovers and mine associates stand aloof from my stroke; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

¹²Mu armsad ja mu sõbrad hoiduvad eemale mu hädast ja mu omaksed seisavad kaugel.

¹²And they that seek after my life lay snares [for me]; and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all the day long.

¹³Kes mu hinge püüavad, need seavad mulle võrke, ja kes mulle paha otsivad, need kõnelevad hukatusest, ja nad mõtlevad pettusele kogu päeva.

¹³But I, as a deaf [man], hear not; and am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

¹⁴Ent mina olen nagu kurt, ei ma kuule, ja nagu keeletu, kes ei ava oma suud.

¹⁴Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

¹⁵Ja ma olen nagu mees, kes ei kuule ja kelle suus ei ole vasturääkimist.

¹⁵For in thee, Jehovah, do I hope: *thou* wilt answer, O Lord my God.

¹⁶Sest sind, Issand, ma ootan; sina, Issand, mu Jumal, vastad!

¹⁶For I said, Let them not rejoice over me! When my foot slipped, they magnified [themselves] against me.

¹⁷Sest ma ütlen: Ärgu minust rõõmustagu need, kes mu jala vääratusel suurustasid mu vastu!

¹⁷For I am ready to halt, and my pain is continually before me.

¹⁸Ma olen ju kukkumas ja mu valu on alati mu ees.

¹⁸For I will declare mine iniquity, I am grieved for my sin.

¹⁹Sest ma pean tunnistama oma pahategu, ma olen mures oma patu pärast.

¹⁹But mine enemies are lively, they are strong; and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied:

²⁰Aga mu vaenlased elavad hästi, nad on vägevad, ja palju on neid, kes mind asjata vihkavad

²⁰And they that render evil for good are adversaries unto me; because I pursue what is good.

²¹ja kes head tasuvad kurjaga, kes on mu vastased, sellepärast et ma head taga nõuan.

²¹Forsake me not, Jehovah; O my God, be not far from me.

²²Ära mind hülga, Issand, mu Jumal, ära ole minust kaugel!

²²Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.

²³Tõtta mulle appi, Issand, sa mu pääste!
