¹[] <<Ωιδη των Αναβαθμων.>> Υψωσα τους οφθαλμους μου προς σε τον κατοικουντα εν ουρανοις.

¹{A Song of degrees.} Unto thee do I lift up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

²Ιδου, καθως οι οφθαλμοι των δουλων ατενιζουσιν εις την χειρα των κυριων αυτων, καθως οι οφθαλμοι της δουλης εις την χειρα της κυριας αυτης, ουτως οι οφθαλμοι ημων προς Κυριον τον Θεον ημων, εωσου ελεηση ημας.

²Behold, as the eyes of servants [look] unto the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes [are directed] to Jehovah our God, until he be gracious unto us.

³Ελεησον ημας, Κυριε, ελεησον ημας διοτι εχορτασθημεν σφοδρα απο εξουδενωσεως.

³Be gracious unto us, O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

⁴Καθ' υπερβολην εχορτασθη η ψυχη ημων απο της υβρεως των τρυφωντων, απο της εξουδενωσεως των υπερηφανων.

⁴Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.
