¹[] Τα τεκνα, υπακουετε εις τους γονεις σας εν Κυριω· διοτι τουτο ειναι δικαιον.

¹Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

²Τιμα τον πατερα σου και την μητερα, ητις ειναι εντολη πρωτη με επαγγελιαν,

²“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise:

³δια να γεινη εις σε καλον και να ησαι μακροχρονιος επι της γης.

³“that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” Deuteronomy 5:16

⁴Και οι πατερες, μη παροργιζετε τα τεκνα σας, αλλ' εκτρεφετε αυτα εν παιδεια Κυριου.

⁴You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

⁵Οι δουλοι, υπακουετε εις τους κατα σαρκα κυριους σας μετα φοβου και τρομου εν απλοτητι της καρδιας σας ως εις τον Χριστον,

⁵Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

⁶μη κατ' οφθαλμοδουλειαν ως ανθρωπαρεσκοι, αλλ' ως δουλοι του Χριστου, εκπληρουντες το θελημα του Θεου εκ ψυχης,

⁶not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

⁷μετ' ευνοιας δουλευοντες εις τον Κυριον και ουχι εις ανθρωπους,

⁷with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men;

⁸εξευροντες οτι εκαστος ο, τι καλον πραξη, τουτο θελει λαβει παρα του Κυριου, ειτε δουλος ειτε ελευθερος.

⁸knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.

⁹Και οι κυριοι, τα αυτα πραττετε προς αυτους, αφινοντες την απειλην, εξευροντες οτι και σεις αυτοι εχετε Κυριον εν ουρανοις, και προσωποληψια δεν υπαρχει παρ' αυτω.

⁹You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.

¹⁰[] Το λοιπον, αδελφοι μου, ενδυναμουσθε εν Κυριω και εν τω κρατει της ισχυος αυτου.

¹⁰Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

¹¹Ενδυθητε την πανοπλιαν του Θεου, δια να δυνηθητε να σταθητε εναντιον εις τας μεθοδειας του διαβολου·

¹¹Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

¹²διοτι δεν ειναι η παλη ημων εναντιον εις αιμα και σαρκα, αλλ' εναντιον εις τας αρχας, εναντιον εις τας εξουσιας, εναντιον εις τους κοσμοκρατορας του σκοτους του αιωνος τουτου· εναντιον εις τα πνευματα της πονηριας εν τοις επουρανιοις.

¹²For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

¹³Δια τουτο αναλαβετε την πανοπλιαν του Θεου, δια να δυνηθητε να αντισταθητε εν τη ημερα τη πονηρα και αφου καταπολεμησητε τα παντα, να σταθητε.

¹³Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

¹⁴Σταθητε λοιπον περιεζωσμενοι την οσφυν σας με αληθειαν και ενδεδυμενοι τον θωρακα της δικαιοσυνης

¹⁴Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

¹⁵και εχοντες υποδεδημενους τους ποδας με την ετοιμασιαν του ευαγγελιου της ειρηνης·

¹⁵and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace;

¹⁶επι πασι δε αναλαβετε την ασπιδα της πιστεως, δια της οποιας θελετε δυνηθη να σβεσητε παντα τα βελη του πονηρου τα πεπυρωμενα·

¹⁶above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

¹⁷και λαβετε την περικεφαλαιαν της σωτηριας και την μαχαιραν του Πνευματος, ητις ειναι ο λογος του Θεου,

¹⁷And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word from Greek rhema, which means spoken word of God;

¹⁸προσευχομενοι εν παντι καιρω μετα πασης προσευχης και δεησεως δια του Πνευματος, και εις αυτο τουτο αγρυπνουντες με πασαν προσκαρτερησιν και δεησιν υπερ παντων των αγιων,

¹⁸with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:

¹⁹[] και υπερ εμου, δια να δοθη εις εμε λογος να ανοιξω το στομα μου μετα παρρησιας, δια να καμω γνωστον το μυστηριον του ευαγγελιου,

¹⁹on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,

²⁰υπερ του οποιου ειμαι πρεσβυς, φορων αλυσιν, δια να λαλησω περι αυτου μετα παρρησιας καθως πρεπει να λαλησω.

²⁰for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

²¹Αλλα δια να εξευρητε και σεις τα κατ' εμε, τι καμνω, τα παντα θελει σας φανερωσει ο Τυχικος ο αγαπητος αδελφος και πιστος διακονος εν Κυριω,

²¹But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things;

²²τον οποιον επεμψα προς εσας δι' αυτο τουτο, δια να μαθητε τα περι ημων και να παρηγορηση τας καρδιας σας.

²²whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts.

²³Ειρηνη εις τους αδελφους και αγαπη μετα πιστεως απο Θεου Πατρος και Κυριου Ιησου Χριστου.

²³Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴Η χαρις ειη μετα παντων των αγαπωντων τον Κυριον ημων Ιησουν Χριστον εν καθαροτητι· αμην.

²⁴Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.
