1ועוד אחי התפללו בעדנו אשר ירוץ דבר יהוה ויכבד כמו גם בקרבכם׃
1For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also with you;
2ואשר ננצל מן האנשים התעים והרעים כי לא לכל אדם האמונה׃
2and that we may be delivered from bad and evil men, for faith [is] not [the portion] of all.
3אבל נאמן הוא האדון אשר יחזק אתכם וישמרכם מן הרע׃
3But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep [you] from evil.
4ואנחנו בטוחים עליכם באדנינו כי תעשו וגם תוסיפו לעשות את אשר נצוה׃
4But we trust in the Lord as to you, that the things which we enjoin, ye both do and will do.
5והאדון הוא יישר את לבבכם לאהבת האלהים ולסבלנות המשיח׃
5But the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of the Christ.
6והננו מצוים אתכם אחים בשם אדנינו ישוע המשיח אשר תבדלו מכל אח מעקש דרכיו ואיננו מתהלך על פי הקבלה אשר קבל מאתנו׃
6Now we enjoin you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the instruction which he received from us.
7הלא ידעתם אף אתם איך עליכם להתהלך כמנו כי לא נהגנו דרך מעות בתוככם׃
7For ye know yourselves how ye ought to imitate us, because we have not walked disorderly among you;
8גם לא אכלנו לחם איש חנם כי ביגיעה ותלאה לילה ויומם היינו עמלים לבלתי היות לאיש מכם למשא׃
8nor have we eaten bread from any one without cost; but in toil and hardship working night and day not to be chargeable to any one of you:
9לא בעבור שאין לנו הרשות לזאת כי אם לתת אתנו לכם למופת ללכת בעקבותינו׃
9not that we have not the right, but that we might give ourselves as an example to you, in order to your imitating us.
10כי גם בהיותנו אצלכם צוינו אתכם לאמר מי שלא ירצה לעבד גם אכול לא יאכל׃
10For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.
11כי שמענו שיש בכם אנשים המעקשים את דרכיהם ואינם עבדים מאומה ומבלים ימיהם בהבלים׃
11For we hear that [there are] some walking among you disorderly, not working at all, but busybodies.
12ואנשים כאלה נצוה אותם ונבקש מהם באדנינו ישוע המשיח לעבד בנחת למען יאכלו את לחמם׃
12Now such we enjoin and exhort in [the] Lord Jesus Christ, that working quietly they eat their own bread.
13ואתם אחי אל תלאו בעשות הטוב׃
13But *ye*, brethren, do not faint in well-doing.
14ואם לא ישמע איש אל דברנו באגרת הזאת אתו תרשמו לכם ואל תתערבו עמו למען יבוש׃
14But if any one obey not our word by the letter, mark that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed of himself;
15אך לא כאיב תחשבהו כי אם תוכיחהו כאח׃
15and do not esteem him as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother.
16והוא אדון השלום הוא יתן לכם את השלום תמיד ובכל פנים׃
16But the Lord of peace himself give you peace continually in every way. The Lord [be] with you all.
17יהי האדון עם כלכם׃
17The salutation by the hand of me, Paul, which is [the] mark in every letter; so I write.
18שאלת השלום מידי אני פולוס והיא האות בכל האגרות כן אנכי כתב׃ [ (II Thessalonians 3:19) חסד ישוע המשיח אדנינו עם כלכם אמן׃ ]
18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all.
