¹For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of Jehovah. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes.

²(36-3) Ia menganggap dirinya sangat hebat, sehingga tidak menyadari kesalahannya, dan tidak membencinya.

²For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.

³(36-4) Kata-katanya jahat dan penuh tipu daya, ia tidak lagi melakukan yang baik dan bijaksana.

³The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: He hath ceased to be wise [and] to do good.

⁴(36-5) Di tempat tidur ia merencanakan kejahatan; perbuatannya tak ada yang baik, yang jahat tidak ditolaknya.

⁴He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; He setteth himself in a way that is not good; He abhorreth not evil.

⁵(36-6) TUHAN, kasih-Mu setinggi langit, dan kesetiaan-Mu sampai ke awan.

⁵Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, is in the heavens; Thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the skies.

⁶(36-7) Kebaikan-Mu menjulang setinggi gunung, dan keadilan-Mu sedalam samudra; manusia dan hewan Kaupelihara, ya TUHAN.

⁶Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; Thy judgments are a great deep: O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast.

⁷(36-8) Betapa berharga kasih-Mu, ya Allah, manusia berlindung dalam naungan sayap-Mu.

⁷How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

⁸(36-9) Mereka puas dengan makanan berlimpah di Rumah-Mu, dengan minuman dari sungai-Mu yang menyegarkan.

⁸They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

⁹(36-10) Engkaulah sumber hidup semua makhluk, dalam terang-Mu kami melihat terang.

⁹For with thee is the fountain of life: In thy light shall we see light.

¹⁰(36-11) Semoga Engkau tetap mengasihi orang yang mengenal Engkau, dan berbuat baik kepada orang yang tulus hati.

¹⁰Oh continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee, And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

¹¹(36-12) Jangan biarkan aku diserang orang congkak, atau diusir oleh orang jahat.

¹¹Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

¹²(36-13) Lihatlah, orang yang melakukan kejahatan sudah jatuh, mereka terpelanting dan tak dapat bangun lagi.

¹²There are the workers of iniquity fallen: They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
