¹しかし、このことは知っておかねばならない。終りの時には、苦難の時代が来る。

¹But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come.

²その時、人々は自分を愛する者、金を愛する者、大言壮語する者、高慢な者、神をそしる者、親に逆らう者、恩を知らぬ者、神聖を汚す者、

²For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³無情な者、融和しない者、そしる者、無節制な者、粗暴な者、善を好まない者、

³without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

⁴裏切り者、乱暴者、高言をする者、神よりも快楽を愛する者、

⁴traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

⁵信心深い様子をしながらその実を捨てる者となるであろう。こうした人々を避けなさい。

⁵holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.

⁶彼らの中には、人の家にもぐり込み、そして、さまざまの欲に心を奪われて、多くの罪を積み重ねている愚かな女どもを、とりこにしている者がある。

⁶For some of these are people who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

⁷彼女たちは、常に学んではいるが、いつになっても真理の知識に達することができない。

⁷always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁸ちょうど、ヤンネとヤンブレとがモーセに逆らったように、こうした人々も真理に逆らうのである。彼らは知性の腐った、信仰の失格者である。

⁸Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith, are rejected.

⁹しかし、彼らはそのまま進んでいけるはずがない。彼らの愚かさは、あのふたりの場合と同じように、多くの人に知れて来るであろう。

⁹But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.

¹⁰But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,

¹¹それから、わたしがアンテオケ、イコニオム、ルステラで受けた数々の迫害、苦難に、よくも続いてきてくれた。そのひどい迫害にわたしは耐えてきたが、主はそれらいっさいのことから、救い出して下さったのである。

¹¹persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. Out of them all the Lord delivered me.

¹²いったい、キリスト・イエスにあって信心深く生きようとする者は、みな、迫害を受ける。

¹²Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

¹³悪人と詐欺師とは人を惑わし人に惑わされて、悪から悪へと落ちていく。

¹³But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

¹⁴しかし、あなたは、自分が学んで確信しているところに、いつもとどまっていなさい。あなたは、それをだれから学んだか知っており、

¹⁴But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

¹⁵また幼い時から、聖書に親しみ、それが、キリスト・イエスに対する信仰によって救に至る知恵を、あなたに与えうる書物であることを知っている。

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶聖書は、すべて神の霊感を受けて書かれたものであって、人を教え、戒め、正しくし、義に導くのに有益である。それによって、神の人が、あらゆる良いわざに対して十分な準備ができて、完全にととのえられた者になるのである。

¹⁶Every Scripture is God-breathed and or, Every writing inspired by God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,

¹⁷それによって、神の人が、あらゆる良いわざに対して十分な準備ができて、完全にととのえられた者になるのである。

¹⁷that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
