¹こうして、あなたがたは、神に愛されている子供として、神にならう者になりなさい。

¹Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

²また愛のうちを歩きなさい。キリストもあなたがたを愛して下さって、わたしたちのために、ご自身を、神へのかんばしいかおりのささげ物、また、いけにえとしてささげられたのである。

²Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.

³また、不品行といろいろな汚れや貪欲などを、聖徒にふさわしく、あなたがたの間では、口にすることさえしてはならない。

³But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;

⁴また、卑しい言葉と愚かな話やみだらな冗談を避けなさい。これらは、よろしくない事である。それよりは、むしろ感謝をささげなさい。

⁴nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.

⁵あなたがたは、よく知っておかねばならない。すべて不品行な者、汚れたことをする者、貪欲な者、すなわち、偶像を礼拝する者は、キリストと神との国をつぐことができない。

⁵Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.

⁶あなたがたは、だれにも不誠実な言葉でだまされてはいけない。これらのことから、神の怒りは不従順の子らに下るのである。

⁶Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

⁷だから、彼らの仲間になってはいけない。

⁷Therefore don’t be partakers with them.

⁸あなたがたは、以前はやみであったが、今は主にあって光となっている。光の子らしく歩きなさい――

⁸For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

⁹光はあらゆる善意と正義と真実との実を結ばせるものである――

⁹for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,

¹⁰主に喜ばれるものがなんであるかを、わきまえ知りなさい。

¹⁰proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.

¹¹実を結ばないやみのわざに加わらないで、むしろ、それを指摘してやりなさい。

¹¹Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

¹²彼らが隠れて行っていることは、口にするだけでも恥ずかしい事である。

¹²For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.

¹³しかし、光にさらされる時、すべてのものは、明らかになる。

¹³But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.

¹⁴明らかにされたものは皆、光となるのである。だから、こう書いてある、「眠っている者よ、起きなさい。死人のなかから、立ち上がりなさい。そうすれば、キリストがあなたを照すであろう」。

¹⁴Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

¹⁵そこで、あなたがたの歩きかたによく注意して、賢くない者のようにではなく、賢い者のように歩き、

¹⁵Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;

¹⁶今の時を生かして用いなさい。今は悪い時代なのである。

¹⁶redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

¹⁷だから、愚かな者にならないで、主の御旨がなんであるかを悟りなさい。

¹⁷Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

¹⁸酒に酔ってはいけない。それは乱行のもとである。むしろ御霊に満たされて、

¹⁸Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

¹⁹詩とさんびと霊の歌とをもって語り合い、主にむかって心からさんびの歌をうたいなさい。

¹⁹speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

²⁰そしてすべてのことにつき、いつも、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの御名によって、父なる神に感謝し、

²⁰giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;

²¹キリストに対する恐れの心をもって、互に仕え合うべきである。

²¹subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

²²妻たる者よ。主に仕えるように自分の夫に仕えなさい。

²²Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

²³キリストが教会のかしらであって、自らは、からだなる教会の救主であられるように、夫は妻のかしらである。

²³For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.

²⁴そして教会がキリストに仕えるように、妻もすべてのことにおいて、夫に仕えるべきである。

²⁴But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

²⁵夫たる者よ。キリストが教会を愛してそのためにご自身をささげられたように、妻を愛しなさい。

²⁵Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;

²⁶キリストがそうなさったのは、水で洗うことにより、言葉によって、教会をきよめて聖なるものとするためであり、

²⁶that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

²⁷また、しみも、しわも、そのたぐいのものがいっさいなく、清くて傷のない栄光の姿の教会を、ご自分に迎えるためである。

²⁷that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

²⁸それと同じく、夫も自分の妻を、自分のからだのように愛さねばならない。自分の妻を愛する者は、自分自身を愛するのである。

²⁸Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

²⁹自分自身を憎んだ者は、いまだかつて、ひとりもいない。かえって、キリストが教会になさったようにして、おのれを育て養うのが常である。

²⁹For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;

³⁰わたしたちは、キリストのからだの肢体なのである。

³⁰because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.

³¹「それゆえに、人は父母を離れてその妻と結ばれ、ふたりの者は一体となるべきである」。

³¹“For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

³²この奥義は大きい。それは、キリストと教会とをさしている。いずれにしても、あなたがたは、それぞれ、自分の妻を自分自身のように愛しなさい。妻もまた夫を敬いなさい。

³²This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.

³³いずれにしても、あなたがたは、それぞれ、自分の妻を自分自身のように愛しなさい。妻もまた夫を敬いなさい。

³³Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
