1三日目にガリラヤのカナに婚礼があって、イエスの母がそこにいた。
1The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there.
2イエスも弟子たちも、その婚礼に招かれた。
2Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.
3ぶどう酒がなくなったので、母はイエスに言った、「ぶどう酒がなくなってしまいました」。
3When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
4イエスは母に言われた、「婦人よ、あなたは、わたしと、なんの係わりがありますか。わたしの時は、まだきていません」。
4Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
5母は僕たちに言った、「このかたが、あなたがたに言いつけることは、なんでもして下さい」。
5His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
6そこには、ユダヤ人のきよめのならわしに従って、それぞれ四、五斗もはいる石の水がめが、六つ置いてあった。
6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes 2 to 3 metretes is about 20 to 30 U. S. Gallons, or 75 to 115 litres. apiece.
7イエスは彼らに「かめに水をいっぱい入れなさい」と言われたので、彼らは口のところまでいっぱいに入れた。
7Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.
8そこで彼らに言われた、「さあ、くんで、料理がしらのところに持って行きなさい」。すると、彼らは持って行った。
8He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
9料理がしらは、ぶどう酒になった水をなめてみたが、それがどこからきたのか知らなかったので、（水をくんだ僕たちは知っていた）花婿を呼んで
9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,
10言った、「どんな人でも、初めによいぶどう酒を出して、酔いがまわったころにわるいのを出すものだ。それだのに、あなたはよいぶどう酒を今までとっておかれました」。
10and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11イエスは、この最初のしるしをガリラヤのカナで行い、その栄光を現された。そして弟子たちはイエスを信じた。
11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12そののち、イエスは、その母、兄弟たち、弟子たちと一緒に、カペナウムに下って、幾日かそこにとどまられた。
12After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
13さて、ユダヤ人の過越の祭が近づいたので、イエスはエルサレムに上られた。
13The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14そして牛、羊、はとを売る者や両替する者などが宮の庭にすわり込んでいるのをごらんになって、
14He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
15なわでむちを造り、羊も牛もみな宮から追いだし、両替人の金を散らし、その台をひっくりかえし、
15He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.
16はとを売る人々には「これらのものを持って、ここから出て行け。わたしの父の家を商売の家とするな」と言われた。
16To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
17弟子たちは、「あなたの家を思う熱心が、わたしを食いつくすであろう」と書いてあることを思い出した。
17His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.” Psalm 69:9
18そこで、ユダヤ人はイエスに言った、「こんなことをするからには、どんなしるしをわたしたちに見せてくれますか」。
18The Jews therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
19イエスは彼らに答えて言われた、「この神殿をこわしたら、わたしは三日のうちに、それを起すであろう」。
19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20そこで、ユダヤ人たちは言った、「この神殿を建てるのには、四十六年もかかっています。それだのに、あなたは三日のうちに、それを建てるのですか」。
20The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
21イエスは自分のからだである神殿のことを言われたのである。
21But he spoke of the temple of his body.
22それで、イエスが死人の中からよみがえったとき、弟子たちはイエスがこう言われたことを思い出して、聖書とイエスのこの言葉とを信じた。
22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23過越の祭の間、イエスがエルサレムに滞在しておられたとき、多くの人々は、その行われたしるしを見て、イエスの名を信じた。
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
24しかしイエスご自身は、彼らに自分をお任せにならなかった。それは、すべての人を知っておられ、また人についてあかしする者を、必要とされなかったからである。それは、ご自身人の心の中にあることを知っておられたからである。
24But Jesus didn’t trust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
25また人についてあかしする者を、必要とされなかったからである。それは、ご自身人の心の中にあることを知っておられたからである。
25and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
