¹In my distress, I cried to Yahweh. He answered me.

²「主よ、偽りのくちびるから、欺きの舌から、わたしを助け出してください」。

²Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

³欺きの舌よ、おまえに何が与えられ、何が加えられるであろうか。

³What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue?

⁴ますらおの鋭い矢と、えにしだの熱い炭とである。

⁴Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

⁵わざわいなるかな、わたしはメセクにやどり、ケダルの天幕のなかに住んでいる。

⁵Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

⁶わたしは久しく平安を憎む者のなかに住んでいた。わたしは平安を願う、しかし、わたしが物言うとき、彼らは戦いを好む。

⁶My soul has had her dwelling too long with him who hates peace.

⁷わたしは平安を願う、しかし、わたしが物言うとき、彼らは戦いを好む。

⁷I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.
