¹主はわたしの光、わたしの救だ、わたしはだれを恐れよう。主はわたしの命のとりでだ。わたしはだれをおじ恐れよう。

¹Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

²わたしのあだ、わたしの敵である悪を行う者どもが、襲ってきて、わたしをそしり、わたしを攻めるとき、彼らはつまずき倒れるであろう。

²When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

³たとい軍勢が陣営を張って、わたしを攻めても、わたしの心は恐れない。たといいくさが起って、わたしを攻めても、なおわたしはみずから頼むところがある。

³Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.

⁴わたしは一つの事を主に願った、わたしはそれを求める。わたしの生きるかぎり、主の家に住んで、主のうるわしきを見、その宮で尋ねきわめることを。

⁴One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.

⁵それは主が悩みの日に、その仮屋のうちにわたしを潜ませ、その幕屋の奥にわたしを隠し、岩の上にわたしを高く置かれるからである。

⁵For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tabernacle he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

⁶今わたしのこうべはわたしをめぐる敵の上に高くあげられる。それゆえ、わたしは主の幕屋で喜びの声をあげて、いけにえをささげ、歌って、主をほめたたえるであろう。

⁶Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.

⁷主よ、わたしが声をあげて呼ばわるとき、聞いて、わたしをあわれみ、わたしに答えてください。

⁷Hear, Yahweh, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on me, and answer me.

⁸あなたは仰せられました、「わが顔をたずね求めよ」と。あなたにむかって、わたしの心は言います、「主よ、わたしはみ顔をたずね求めます」と。

⁸When you said, “Seek my face,” my heart said to you, “I will seek your face, Yahweh.”

⁹み顔をわたしに隠さないでください。怒ってあなたのしもべを退けないでください。あなたはわたしの助けです。わが救の神よ、わたしを追い出し、わたしを捨てないでください。

⁹Don’t hide your face from me. Don’t put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don’t abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.

¹⁰たとい父母がわたしを捨てても、主がわたしを迎えられるでしょう。

¹⁰When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up.

¹¹主よ、あなたの道をわたしに教え、わたしのあだのゆえに、わたしを平らかな道に導いてください。

¹¹Teach me your way, Yahweh. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.

¹²わたしのあだの望むがままに、わたしを引き渡さないでください。偽りのあかしをする者がわたしに逆らって起り、暴言を吐くからです。

¹²Don’t deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out cruelty.

¹³わたしは信じます、生ける者の地でわたしは主の恵みを見ることを。主を待ち望め、強く、かつ雄々しくあれ。主を待ち望め。

¹³I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.

¹⁴主を待ち望め、強く、かつ雄々しくあれ。主を待ち望め。

¹⁴Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.
