¹This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel or, messenger (here and wherever angel is mentioned) to his servant, John,

²ヨハネは、神の言とイエス・キリストのあかしと、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことをあかしした。

²who testified to God’s word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw.

³この預言の言葉を朗読する者と、これを聞いて、その中に書かれていることを守る者たちとは、さいわいである。時が近づいているからである。

³Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

⁴ヨハネからアジヤにある七つの教会へ。今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべきかたから、また、その御座の前にある七つの霊から、

⁴John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

⁵また、忠実な証人、死人の中から最初に生れた者、地上の諸王の支配者であるイエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とが、あなたがたにあるように。わたしたちを愛し、その血によってわたしたちを罪から解放し、

⁵and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood;

⁶わたしたちを、その父なる神のために、御国の民とし、祭司として下さったかたに、世々限りなく栄光と権力とがあるように、アァメン。

⁶and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 61:6 to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

⁷見よ、彼は、雲に乗ってこられる。すべての人の目、ことに、彼を刺しとおした者たちは、彼を仰ぎ見るであろう。また地上の諸族はみな、彼のゆえに胸を打って嘆くであろう。しかり、アァメン。

⁷Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

⁸今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべき者、全能者にして主なる神が仰せになる、「わたしはアルパであり、オメガである」。

⁸ “I am the Alpha and the Omega, TR adds “the Beginning and the End” ” says the Lord God, TR omits “God” “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

⁹あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。

⁹I John, your brother and partner with you in oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Christ Jesus, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God’s Word and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ところが、わたしは、主の日に御霊に感じた。そして、わたしのうしろの方で、ラッパのような大きな声がするのを聞いた。

¹⁰I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet

¹¹その声はこう言った、「あなたが見ていることを書きものにして、それをエペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テアテラ、サルデス、ヒラデルヒヤ、ラオデキヤにある七つの教会に送りなさい」。

¹¹saying, “ TR adds “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.” What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies TR adds “which are in Asia” : to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

¹²そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。

¹²I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.

¹³それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子のような者がいた。

¹³And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, Daniel 7:13 clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.

¹⁴そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であり、目は燃える炎のようであった。

¹⁴His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.

¹⁵その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであり、声は大水のとどろきのようであった。

¹⁵His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.

¹⁶その右手に七つの星を持ち、口からは、鋭いもろ刃のつるぎがつき出ており、顔は、強く照り輝く太陽のようであった。

¹⁶He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest.

¹⁷わたしは彼を見たとき、その足もとに倒れて死人のようになった。すると、彼は右手をわたしの上において言った、「恐れるな。わたしは初めであり、終りであり、

¹⁷When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, “Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last,

¹⁸また、生きている者である。わたしは死んだことはあるが、見よ、世々限りなく生きている者である。そして、死と黄泉とのかぎを持っている。

¹⁸ and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades or, Hell .

¹⁹そこで、あなたの見たこと、現在のこと、今後起ろうとすることを、書きとめなさい。あなたがわたしの右手に見た七つの星と、七つの金の燭台との奥義は、こうである。すなわち、七つの星は七つの教会の御使であり、七つの燭台は七つの教会である。

¹⁹ Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will happen hereafter;

²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels or, messengers (here and wherever angels are mentioned) of the seven assemblies. The seven lampstands are seven assemblies.
