Darby's Translation

1 Corinthians

13

1Ɣas zemreɣ ad mmeslayeɣ timeslayin n ddunit meṛṛa, ad rnuɣ tid n lmalayekkat, m'ur sɛiɣ ara leḥmala n tideț, ad iliɣ am ṭṭbel yeddendunen neɣ nnaqus yeṭṭenṭunen.
1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2Ɣas ma yețțunefk-iyi-d ad țxebbiṛeɣ s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi, ad fehmeɣ kra yellan d lbaḍna, ad sɛuɣ tamusni di mkul lḥaǧa, ɣas ad sɛuɣ liman s wayes i zemreɣ ad iniɣ i wedrar qleɛ iman-ik syagi tṛuḥeḍ ɣer wemkan ihina, m'ur sɛiɣ ara leḥmala ɣer wiyaḍ, nekk d ulac.
2And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3Ɣas daɣen ad feṛqeɣ ayen akk sɛiɣ i wid yelluẓen, ad rnuɣ ad sebbleɣ tudert-iw alamma d lmut ɣef ddemma n wiyaḍ, m'ur sɛiɣ ara leḥmala deg ul-iw, ayagi ur iyi-infiɛ ara.
3And if I shall dole out all my goods in food, and if I deliver up my body that I may be burned, but have not love, I profit nothing.
4Leḥmala n tideț tețțawi-d ṣṣbeṛ, leḥmala tețɛawan, leḥmala ur tesɛi ara tismin, ur tesɛi ara zzux, win yesɛan leḥmala deg ul-is ur yețcekkiṛ ara iman-is,
4Love has long patience, is kind; love is not emulous [of others]; love is not insolent and rash, is not puffed up,
5Win yesɛan leḥmala n tideț ur ițnadi ara ad ixdem cceṛ, ur yețnadi ara ɣef nnfeɛ-ines, ur izeɛɛef ur yețțaṭṭaf cceḥnat ;
5does not behave in an unseemly manner, does not seek what is its own, is not quickly provoked, does not impute evil,
6Win yesɛan leḥmala ur ifeṛṛeḥ ara s lbaṭel meɛna ifeṛṛeḥ s lḥeqq;
6does not rejoice at iniquity but rejoices with the truth,
7leḥmala tețsamaḥ kullec, tețțamen, tessaram tsebbeṛ i kullec.
7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8Axebbeṛ n wayen i d-yețțasen s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi ad ifak, timeslayin ur nețwassen ara ad ḥebsent, tamusni aț-țefnu, ma d leḥmala n tideț werǧin aț-țfak ;
8Love never fails; but whether prophecies, they shall be done away; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be done away.
9axaṭer tamusni-nneɣ txuṣṣ, ayen nețbecciṛ s ɣuṛ Sidi Ṛebbi ur innekmal ara,
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part:
10meɛna m'ara d-yaweḍ wayen innekmalen, ayen ixuṣṣen meṛṛa ad imḥu.
10but when that which is perfect has come, that which is in part shall be done away.
11Asmi lliɣ d aqcic, țmeslayeɣ am weqcic, țxemmimeɣ, țmeyyizeɣ slɛeqliya n weqcic ; asmi uɣaleɣ d argaz, ǧǧiɣ lɛeqliya n weqcic.
11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I reasoned as a child; when I became a man, I had done with what belonged to the child.
12Ass-agi, nețwali am akken di lemri yumsen, meɛna imiren a nuɣal a nwali akken ilaq ; ass-agi tamusni inu mazal txuṣṣ lameɛna ad uɣaleɣ ad issineɣ akken i yi-issen Sidi Ṛebbi.
12For we see now through a dim window obscurely, but then face to face; now I know partially, but then I shall know according as I also have been known.
13Tura ihi tlata n leḥwayeǧ-agi i gesɛan lqima : liman, asirem d leḥmala ; lameɛna di tlata-agi, d lehmala i ț-țameqqrant.
13And now abide faith, hope, love; these three things; and the greater of these [is] love.
