Darby's Translation

1 John

1

1Ɣef wayen yeɛnan win yellan d awal n tudert, i gellan si tazwara : nesla-yas yerna neẓra-t s wallen-nneɣ, nnulent ifassen-nneɣ yerna nerra ddehn-nneɣ ɣuṛ-es.
1That which was from [the] beginning, that which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes; that which we contemplated, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life;
2Tudert tban-ed, nwala-ț, nețcehhid fell-as, yerna nețbecciṛ-awen-d tudert n dayem yellan ɣer tama n Sidi Ṛebbi, tura tban-aɣ-ed.
2(and the life has been manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and has been manifested to us:)
3Ayen nwala d wayen nesla nxebbeṛ-awen-t-id, iwakken ula d kunwi aț-țekkim di tdukkli-nneɣ, akken nella nukni d Baba-tneɣ Ṛebbi akk-d Mmi-s, Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
3that which we have seen and heard we report to you, that *ye* also may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship [is] indeed with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4Uriɣ-awen ayagi iwakken lfeṛḥ nneɣ ad innekmal.
4And these things write we to you that your joy may be full.
5Ayen nesla s ɣuṛ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ newwi-yawen-t-id : Sidi Ṛebbi ț-țafat, ur yelli ara deg-s ṭṭlam.
5And this is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6Ma neqqaṛ deg webrid n Ṛebbi i nella yili mazal-aɣ nteddu di ṭṭlam, neskaddeb nexḍa i webrid n tideț.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practise the truth.
7Meɛna ma yella nteddu di tafat am akken i gella nețța di tafat, ad ddukklen wulawen-nneɣ, yerna ddnubat-nneɣ ad iriden s idammen n Mmi-s Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
7But if we walk in the light as *he* is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8Ma neqqaṛ ur yelli deg-nneɣ ddnub, atan neskaddeb ɣef yiman-nneɣ, tideț ur telli deg-nneɣ.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9Meɛna ma nețqiṛṛi s ddnubat-nneɣ i Sidi Ṛebbi, nețța yellan d aḥeqqi, nezmer a nețkel fell-as a ɣ-isameḥ ddnubat-nneɣ, a ɣ-isellek si lbaṭel.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us [our] sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10Ma neqqaṛ mačči d imednuben i nella, nerra Sidi Ṛebbi d akeddab, awal-is ur yelli ara deg-nneɣ.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
