1Ay iḥbiben, ațah tebṛaț-iw tis snat i wen-d-uriɣ. Di snat yid-sent nudaɣ amek ara d-ssakiɣ di leɛqel nwen ixemmimen iṣfan s uselmed-agi i wen-d-smektaɣ.
1This, a second letter, beloved, I already write to you, in [both] which I stir up, in the way of putting you in remembrance, your pure mind,
2Bɣiɣ a d temmektim imeslayen i d-nnan lenbiya iqedsen akk-d lameṛ n Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ amsellek nneɣ, i wen-slemden yakan imceggɛen n Sidi Ṛebbi.
2to be mindful of the words spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of the Lord and Saviour by your apostles;
3Tazwara, ilaq aț-țeẓrem belli deg ussan ineggura a d-kkren yemdanen ara iɛicen s lebɣi n tnefsit-nsen, yerna ad tmesxiṛen fell-awen ;
3knowing this first, that there shall come at [the] close of the days mockers with mocking, walking according to their own lusts,
4a wen-d-qqaṛen : anaɣ yenna-yawen a d-uɣaleɣ, ihi anda yella tura ? Lejdud-nneɣ ɛeddan mmuten, ulac ayen i gbeddlen seg wasmi i d-texleq ddunit.
4and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for from the time the fathers fell asleep all things remain thus from [the] beginning of [the] creation.
5Țțun belli di zzman aqdim asmi i d-ixleq Sidi Ṛebbi igenwan d lqaɛa ; s wawal-is i d-issufeɣ lqaɛa seg waman ;
5For this is hidden from them through their own wilfulness, that heavens were of old, and an earth, having its subsistence out of water and in water, by the word of God,
6S wawal-is daɣen i gessenger ddunit s lḥemla n waman.
6through which [waters] the then world, deluged with water, perished.
7Ula d igenwan d lqaɛa n tura s wawal-is daɣen i ten-ihegga iwakken a ten-issenger s tmes ass n lḥisab asm' ara iɛaqeb wid ur nḍuɛ ara Sidi Ṛebbi.
7But the present heavens and the earth by his word are laid up in store, kept for fire unto a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8Ay iɛzizen ! Ɣuṛ-wat aț-țețțum ayagi : ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi alef n iseggasen am yiwen wass, yiwen wass am alef n iseggasen.
8But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with [the] Lord [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9Sidi Ṛebbi ur ițɛeṭṭil ara ad ixdem ayen i d-yenna ; ɣas akken kra n yemdanen ɣilen iɛeṭṭel ; meɛna nețța d ṣṣbeṛ i wen-iṣebbeṛ iwakken ur inegger ula yiwen deg-wen, yebɣa a d-tuɣalem akk ɣer ubrid-is.
9[The] Lord does not delay his promise, as some account of delay, but is longsuffering towards you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10Ass n Sidi Ṛebbi a d-yas akken i d-ițțas umakar. Igenwan ad negren s yiwen zzhir d ameqqran, ayen yellan deg igenwan a t-tečč tmes, lqaɛa d wayen i ț-iɛemmṛen ad fnun.
10But the day of [the] Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and [the] elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, and [the] earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.
11Imi ayagi meṛṛa ad ifnu, acḥal i wen-ilaq aț-țḍuɛem Sidi Ṛebbi, aț-țeṣfum di tikli-nwen !
11All these things then being to be dissolved, what ought ye to be in holy conversation and godliness,
12Aṛǧut, xedmet lmeǧhud-nwen iwakken a d-yeɛjel wass n Sidi Ṛebbi. Ass-nni i deg ara tekker tmes deg igenwan, i deg ara yefsi kra n wayen yellan deg-sen.
12waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, by reason of which [the] heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved, and [the] elements, burning with heat, shall melt?
13Meɛna nețṛaǧu am akken i ɣ-t-id-iɛuhed Sidi Ṛebbi : Igenwan d lqaɛa imaynuten ( ijdiden ), i deg ara izdeɣ lḥeqq.
13But, according to his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.
14Daymi ay iɛzizen, deg uṛaǧu-agi tețṛaǧum ḥeṛset iman-nwen iwakken a kkun-id-yaf di lehna, zeddigit, mbla lɛib.
14Wherefore, beloved, as ye wait for these things, be diligent to be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless;
15Ḥṣut belli ṣṣbeṛ ameqqran n Sidi Ṛebbi, d leslak-nwen ! Am akken i wen-t-id-yura gma-tneɣ eɛzizen Bulus s tmusni i s-d-ițțunefken.
15and account the longsuffering of our Lord [to be] salvation; according as our beloved brother Paul also has written to you according to the wisdom given to him,
16D ayen i wen-d-iqqaṛ daɣen di mkul tabṛaț i deg i d-immeslay ɣef temsalin-agi. Llan deg-sent imeslayen iweɛṛen i lefhama, daymi imdanen ur neǧhid ara di liman, ixuṣṣen di lefhama, sseɛwajen lmeɛna-nsen akken i sseɛwajen ula ț-țira nniḍen, ayagi xeddmen-t i nnger-nsen.
16as also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; among which some things are hard to be understood, which the untaught and ill-established wrest, as also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
17A wid eɛzizen, kunwi yeslan s wannect-agi meṛṛa, ḥadret ɣef yiman-nwen, ɣuṛ-wat a kkun-ɣuṛṛen yemcumen ur numin ara s Sidi Ṛebbi, a kkun-sbeɛden ɣef ubrid-is i deg teṭṭfem.
17*Ye* therefore, beloved, knowing [these] things before, take care lest, being led away along with the error of the wicked, ye should fall from your own stedfastness:
18Lameɛna nnernit di tmusni d ṛṛeḥma n Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ, Amsellek-nneɣ. I nețța tamanegt am ass-a am ussan i d-iteddun i dayem. Amin !
18but grow in grace, and in [the] knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and to [the] day of eternity. Amen.
