1Ay atmaten, kunwi s yiman-nwen teẓram mačči mbla lmeɛna i d-nusa ɣuṛ-wen.
1For ye know yourselves, brethren, our entering in which [we had] to you, that it has not been in vain;
2Teẓram daɣen nenneɛtab, nețwargem di temdint n Filibus, meɛna neṭṭef di liman-nneɣ di Sidi Ṛebbi, nkemmel abecceṛ n wawal-is gar-awen ɣas akken nețwaqehheṛ.
2but, having suffered before and been insulted, even as ye know, in Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the glad tidings of God with much earnest striving.
3Lexbeṛ-agi n lxiṛ i wen-d newwi ur ibni ara ɣef lekdeb neɣ ɣef tḥila d lexdeɛ.
3For our exhortation [was] not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile;
4Sidi Ṛebbi ițkel fell-aɣ, daymi i ɣ-iceggeɛ iwakken a nbecceṛ awal-is. Axaṭer iẓra nețmeslay mačči iwakken a neɛǧeb i yemdanen, meɛna iwakken a s-neɛǧeb i nețța yessnen ulawen-nneɣ.
4but even as we have been approved of God to have the glad tidings entrusted to us, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who proves our hearts.
5Teẓram belli leɛmeṛ ur nemmeslay s usqizzeb neɣ neḍmeɛ kra deg yiwen, atan Sidi Ṛebbi d inigi !
5For we have not at any time been [among you] with flattering discourse, even as ye know, nor with a pretext for covetousness, God [is] witness;
6Leɛmeṛ ur nqelleb ad yali ccan-nneɣ ama ɣuṛ-wen ama ɣer wiyaḍ ; yerna lemmer nebɣi, nezmer a nḥettem iman-nneɣ fell-awen imi d imceggɛen n Lmasiḥ i nella !
6nor seeking glory from men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have been a charge as Christ's apostles;
7Meɛna asmi nella gar-awen, neččuṛ d leḥnana am tyemmaț ițḥadaren ɣef warraw-is.
7but have been gentle in the midst of you, as a nurse would cherish her own children.
8Imi tellam deg wulawen-nneɣ, mačči kan d lexbaṛ n lxiṛ n Sidi Ṛebbi i nebɣa a wen-nbecceṛ, meɛna nezmer a nsebbel ula ț-țiṛwiḥin-nneɣ fell-awen, axaṭer teɛzizem fell-aɣ aṭas.
8Thus, yearning over you, we had found our delight in having imparted to you not only the glad tidings of God, but our own lives also, because ye had become beloved of us.
9Ma tecfam ay atmaten ɣef wussan nni mi i wen-d-newwi lexbaṛ n lxiṛ, nenneɛtab, nxeddem iḍ d wass akken ur nețțili ț-țaɛkumt ula i yiwen deg-wen.
9For ye remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, not to be chargeable to any one of you, we have preached to you the glad tidings of God.
10Ṛebbi yeẓra, kunwi teẓram belli tikli-nneɣ teṣfa, nedda s lḥeqq, yiwen ur aɣ-d-issukkes lɛib gar-awen kunwi s wid yumnen.
10*Ye* [are] witnesses, and God, how piously and righteously and blamelessly we have conducted ourselves with you that believe:
11Teẓram daɣen nella i mkul yiwen deg-wen am ubabat ɣer warraw-is.
11as ye know how, as a father his own children, we used to exhort each one of you, and comfort and testify,
12Nenha-kkun, nesseǧhed-ikkun, nḥellel-ikkun iwakken aț-țeddum akken yebɣa Sidi Ṛebbi i wen-d issawlen ɣer tgeldit-is d lɛaḍima-s.
12that ye should walk worthy of God, who calls you to his own kingdom and glory.
13S wakka nețḥemmid dayem Sidi Ṛebbi imi tqeblem awal-is i wen-d newwi. Tqeblem-t mačči am akken d awal n wemdan, meɛna tqeblem-t imi d awal n Sidi Ṛebbi. D awal-agi i gxeddmen deg-wen tura, kunwi s wid yumnen.
13And for this cause we also give thanks to God unceasingly that, having received [the] word of [the] report of God by us, ye accepted, not men's word, but, even as it is truly, God's word, which also works in you who believe.
14Ay atmaten, tedṛa yid-wen am tejmuyaɛ n imasiḥiyen yellan di tmurt n Yahuda : akken i kkun-qehṛen warraw n tmurt-nwen akken daɣen i ten-qehṛen wudayen.
14For *ye*, brethren, have become imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judaea in Christ Jesus; for *ye* also have suffered the same things of your own countrymen as also *they* of the Jews,
15D udayen-agi i genɣan Ssid nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ akk-d lenbiya, d nutni daɣen i ɣ-iqehṛen. Ɛuṣan Sidi Ṛebbi yerna d iɛdawen n yemdanen.
15who have both slain the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and have driven us out by persecution, and do not please God, and [are] against all men,
16Rnan kemmlen di ddnubat-nsen, axaṭer ur ɣ-ǧǧin ara a nbecceṛ leslak n Sidi Ṛebbi i leǧnas nniḍen ur nelli ara n wat Isṛail. S wakka i d-yeɣli lɛiqab n Sidi Ṛebbi fell-asen.
16forbidding us to speak to the nations that they may be saved, that they may fill up their sins always: but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.
17Ma d nukni ay atmaten seg wasmi i d-nṛuḥ s ɣuṛ-wen, ɣas akken ur kkun-ẓerrent ara wallen, tellam deg wulawen-nneɣ ; nxaq fell-awen aṭas, daymi i neɛṛeḍ a d-nas iwakken a kkun-nẓer.
17But we, brethren, having been bereaved of you and separated for a little moment in person, not in heart, have used more abundant diligence to see your face with much desire;
18Acḥal n tikkal i nebɣa a nuɣal ɣuṛ-wen, nekk s yiman-iw, yiwet neɣ snat n tikkal i ɛerḍeɣ a n-ruḥeɣ, meɛna Cciṭan ur aɣ yeǧǧi ara, iqḍeɛ-aɣ abrid.
18wherefore we have desired to come to you, even I Paul, both once and twice, and Satan has hindered us.
19D kunwi i d sebba n usirem d lfeṛḥ-nneɣ ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi, yis-wen ara nzuxx zdat Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa asm'ara d-yuɣal.
19For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of boasting? [are] not *ye* also before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
20Ț-țideț, d kunwi i d can nneɣ i d lfeṛḥ-nneɣ.
20for ye are our glory and joy.
