1Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by God's will, according to promise of life, the [life] which [is] in Christ Jesus,
2A Timuti a mmi eɛzizen : leɛfu, ṛṛeḥma ț-țalwit a k-d-țțunefkent s ɣuṛ Sidi Ṛebbi baba-tneɣ akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ Ssid-nneɣ.
2to Timotheus, [my] beloved child: grace, mercy, peace, from God [the] Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3?ḥemmideɣ Sidi Ṛebbi i ɣef qeddceɣ s wul yeṣfan akken qedcen fell-as lejdud-iw, deɛɛuɣ fell-ak am yiḍ am ass ;
3I am thankful to God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with pure conscience, how unceasingly I have the remembrance of thee in my supplications night and day,

4earnestly desiring to see thee, remembering thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5?mektayeɣ-ed neyya-nni i tesɛiḍ di liman, akken i ț-tesɛa sețți-k Luiza akk-d yemma-k Anisa ; tḥeqqeqeɣ belli ar ass-a mazal-iț deg wul-ik.
5calling to mind the unfeigned faith which [has been] in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that in thee also.
6Daymi bɣiɣ a k-weṣṣiɣ a d tessakiḍ tikci-nni i k-d-yețțunefken s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi asm'akken i sserseɣ ifassen-iw fell-ak.
6For which cause I put thee in mind to rekindle the gift of God which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7Axaṭer mačči d Ṛṛuḥ n ukukru i ɣ-d-yefka Sidi Ṛebbi meɛna d Ṛṛuḥ yeččuṛen ț-țazmert d leḥmala akk-d leɛqel.
7For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, and of love, and of wise discretion.
8Ihi ur țsetḥi ara aț-țcehdeḍ ɣef Ssid-nneɣ, ur țsetḥi ara daɣen yis-i nekk yellan d ameḥbus ɣef ddemma-s. Meɛna eqbel leɛtab yid-i ɣef ddemma n lexbaṛ n lxiṛ, țkel ɣef tezmert i d-yețțak Sidi Ṛebbi.
8Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but suffer evil along with the glad tidings, according to the power of God;
9D nețța i ɣ-isellken, i ɣ-d-issawlen ɣer tudert iqedsen, ayagi mačči ɣef ddemma n lecɣal-nneɣ meɛna d nețța i gebɣan s ṛṛeḥma-ines i ɣ-d yețțunefken s Ɛisa Lmasiḥ uqbel a d-texleq ddunit.
9who has saved us, and has called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to [his] own purpose and grace, which [was] given to us in Christ Jesus before [the] ages of time,
10Ṛṛeḥma-agi tban-ed tura s tisin n wemsellek-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ, i gɣelben lmut, ibeggen-ed tafat n tudert ur nețfaka s lexbaṛ n lxiṛ.
10but has been made manifest now by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has annulled death, and brought to light life and incorruptibility by the glad tidings;
11?ef ddemma n lexbaṛ-agi n lxiṛ i d-țțucegɛeɣ d ṛṛasul iwakken ad beccṛeɣ, ad slemdeɣ.
11to which *I* have been appointed a herald and apostle and teacher of [the] nations.

12For which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep for that day the deposit I have entrusted to him.
13?rez imeslayen iqedsen i tlemdeḍ s ɣuṛ-i, eddu yis-sen s liman d leḥmala i nesɛa di Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
13Have an outline of sound words, which [words] thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which [are] in Christ Jesus.
14?rez mliḥ deg ul-ik ayen akken i tlemḍeḍ, s tezmert n Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen i gzedɣen deg-nneɣ.
14Keep, by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us, the good deposit entrusted.
15Teẓriḍ belli wid akk yellan yid-i di tmurt n Asya ǧǧan-iyi weḥd-i, llan gar-asen Figilus d ?irmujinus.
15Thou knowest this, that all who [are] in Asia, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes, have turned away from me.
16Ad ibarek Sidi Ṛebbi axxam n gma-tneɣ Unisifur axaṭer daymen yețṣebbiṛ-iyi, ur yessetḥa ara yis-i imi di lḥebs i lliɣ ;
16The Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he has often refreshed me, and has not been ashamed of my chain;
17lameɛna akken kan i d-yusa ɣer temdint n Ṛuma inuda fell-i armi i yi-yufa.
17but being in Rome sought me out very diligently, and found [me] --
18Teẓriḍ acḥal i yi-iɛawen asmi lliɣ di temdint n Ifasus. A d-yessers Ṛebbi fell-as ṛṛeḥma-s deg ass n tuɣalin n Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
18the Lord grant to him to find mercy from [the] Lord in that day -- and how much service he rendered in Ephesus *thou* knowest best.
