Darby's Translation

2 Timothy

2

1Ihi kečč a mmi, sseǧhed iman-ik s ṛṛeḥma i gellan di Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
1Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace which [is] in Christ Jesus.
2And the things thou hast heard of me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, such as shall be competent to instruct others also.
3Awi amur-ik n leɛtab am uɛsekṛi n Lmasiḥ.
3Take thy share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4Aɛsekṛi i gebɣan ad yeɛǧeb i lqebṭan-is ur ilaq ara ad ixemmem ɣef lecɣal n ddunit.
4No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please him who has enlisted him as a soldier.
5Ulac daɣen win ara irebḥen timzizla ma yella ur yuzzil ara akken i d-yenna lqanun.
5And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
6Afellaḥ ițenɛețțaben, d nețța i gezwar lḥal ad iɣellet.
6The husbandman must labour before partaking of the fruits.
7Efhem ayen akka i k-d-nniɣ axaṭer d Sidi Ṛebbi ara k-iɛawnen aț-țfehmeḍ kullec.
7Think of what I say, for the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.
8Mmekti-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ i d-iḥyan si ger lmegtin, win akken i d-iffɣen seg uẓaṛ n Sidna Dawed akken i t-id-yenna lexbaṛ n lxiṛ n Lmasiḥ i ɣ ɣ ecciṛeɣ ;
8Remember Jesus Christ raised from among [the] dead, of [the] seed of David, according to my glad tidings,
9lexbaṛ-agi i ɣef nneɛtabeɣ armi țwarzeɣ s snasel am akken d amcum i lliɣ, meɛna awal n Sidi Ṛebbi ur yețwacekkal ara.
9in which I suffer even unto bonds as an evil-doer: but the word of God is not bound.
10Daymi ṣebṛeɣ i kullec ɣef ddemma n wid yețwaxtaṛen iwakken ula d nutni ad sɛun leslak i gellan di Ɛisa Lmasiḥ akk-d țmanegt n dayem.
10For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the salvation which [is] in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11Atah wayen yuklalen lețkal : ma nemmut yid-es, a nidir daɣen yid-es ;
11The word [is] faithful; for if we have died together with [him], we shall also live together;
12ma yella neṭṭef di liman, a neḥkem yid-es ; ma yella nenkkeṛ-it ula d nețța a ɣ-yenkeṛ ;
12if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, *he* also will deny us;
13ma yella nexdeɛ-it, nețța ur a ɣ-ixeddeɛ ara axaṭer ur yezmir ara ad yenkeṛ ayen i d-yenna.
13if we are unfaithful, *he* abides faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
14Atah wayen ara sen-d-smektiḍ : nhu-ten zdat Ṛebbi ur țemčeqlalen ara ɣef yimeslayen ur nesɛi lmeɛna, yessufuɣen i webrid wid i sen ismeḥsisen.
14Of these things put in remembrance, testifying earnestly before the Lord not to have disputes of words, profitable for nothing, to the subversion of the hearers.
15Exdem lmeǧhud-ik zdat n Ṛebbi, aț-țiliḍ d aqeddac ibedden ɣer ccɣel-is, ur nețsetḥi ara deg wayen i gxeddem, i gețbecciṛen awal n Sidi Ṛebbi s lḥeqq.
15Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.
16Xḍu i yimeslayen ur nesɛi lmeɛna i gxulfen liman axaṭer wid i ten itebɛen simmal țzaden teffɣen i webrid n Ṛebbi.
16But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,
17Imeslayen-nsen am lehlak i teddun di lǧețța armi yečča-ț meṛṛa. Llan gar-asen ?imnayus d Filitus
17and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18i gwexxṛen ɣef webrid n tideț, qqaṛen belli ḥeggu n lmegtin dayen yedṛa-d, s wakka ssufuɣen aṭas n yemdanen seg webrid n liman.
18[men] who as to the truth have gone astray, saying that the resurrection has taken place already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19Lameɛna d lsas i gessers Sidi Ṛebbi ara idumen : Ssid-nneɣ yeẓra wid yellan d ayla-s ; f+ yura daɣen win ara yinin nekk d ayla-s, ilaq ad yexḍu i wayen n diri. f+
19Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.
20Deg wexxam n imeṛkantiyen mačči d iqbucen n ddheb neɣ n lfeṭṭa kan i gellan meɛna llan daɣen wid n wesɣaṛ d wid n wakal ; wid n ddheb d lfeṭṭa țțaǧan-ten i leqdic n wussan n tmeɣṛa ma d wiyaḍ i leqdic n mkul ass.
20But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21Win ara yessizdgen iman-is yexḍa i lecɣal-agi n diri, ad yili am weqbuc-nni n ddheb neɣ n lfeṭṭa i sseqdacen deg wass n tmeɣṛa, yewjed ad yenfeɛ i wass m'ara t-yeḥwiǧ umɛellem-is.
21If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for every good work.
22Exḍu i ccehwat n temẓi i gețɣuṛṛun, kečč akk-d wid ideɛɛun ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi s wul yeṣfan, nadi ɣef lḥeqq, liman, leḥmala ț-țalwit,.
22But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
23Ur ggar ara iman-ik di lketṛa n lehḍur ifeṛɣen ur nesɛi lmeɛna, xḍu-k seg-sen ; teẓriḍ belli țțawin-d anagar amennuɣ.
23But foolish and senseless questionings avoid, knowing that they beget contentions.
24Ur s-ilaq ara i uqeddac n Sidi Ṛebbi ad ițnaɣ. Ilaq ad yili d aḥnin ɣer medden, ad isselmed s ṣṣwab yerna ad isɛu ṣṣbeṛ ;
24And a bondman of [the] Lord ought not to contend, but be gentle towards all; apt to teach; forbearing;
25ilaq ad issefhem s leɛqel wid i t-yețxalafen, ahat Sidi Ṛebbi a ten-id-yerr ɣer webrid iwakken ad issinen tideț,
25in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them repentance to acknowledgment of [the] truth,
26a d-ldint wallen-nsen a d-snesren iman-nsen si tifextin n Cciṭan i ten-yeṭṭfen ad xedmen lebɣi-s.
26and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, [who are] taken by him, for *his* will.
