1A Tawfilus, di tektabt-inu tamezwarut, ḥkiɣ-ed ayen ixdem Sidna Ɛisa d wayen yesselmed seg wass amezwaru armi d ass i deg yețwarfed ɣer igenni.
1I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2Uqbel ad ițwarfed, yefka lumuṛat-is s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen i wid i gextaṛ ad ilin d ṛṛusul.
2until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
3Mi d-iḥya si ger lmegtin, i nutni daɣen iwumi i d-isban iman-is belli yedder ; ṛebɛin wussan nețța ițban asen-d yerna ițmeslay-asen-d ɣef wayen yeɛnan tagelda n Sidi Ṛebbi.
3to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
4Yiwen wass, mi gella itețț yid-sen, yefka-yasen lameṛ-agi : Ur țeffɣet ara si temdint n Lquds, lameɛna eṛǧut lemɛahda n Baba Ṛebbi, tin akken i wen-d nniɣ ;
4and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.
5« Yeḥya isseɣḍas imdanen deg aman, ma d kunwi, di kra n wussan aț-țețwaɣeḍsem s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen.»
5For John indeed baptised with water, but *ye* shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
6Mi llan ṛṛusul nnejmaɛen yid-es, steqsan-t : A Sidi, deg ussan-agi ara d terreḍ tageldit i wegdud n wat Isṛail ?
6They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
7Yerra-yasen : Ur țnadit ara aț-țeẓrem ayen yeɛnan lewqat d wussan i ghegga Baba Ṛebbi s lḥekma-ines si zik, ayagi mačči d ccɣel-nwen.
7And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;
8Kunwi a wen-d-tețțunefk tezmert n Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen ara d-yersen fell-awen, imiren aț-țilim d inigan-iw di temdint n Lquds, di tmurt n Yahuda ț-țmurt n Samarya, aț-țawḍem alamma d ixfawen n ddunit.
8but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
9Akken i d-yenna imeslayen-agi, Sidna Ɛisa yețwarfed ɣer igenni nutni țmuqulen deg-s armi i t-tɣumm tagut.
9And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10Mazal ṛeṣṣan allen-nsen deg-s ɣer tegnaw, mi sen-d-dehṛen sin yergazen s llebsa tamellalt, nnan-asen :
10And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,
11who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.
12Seg iɣil uzemmur, uɣalen ɣer temdint n Lquds ibeɛden azal n tikli n wass n westeɛfu.
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.
13And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.
14Țnejmaɛen s yiwen n ṛṛay iwakken ad deɛɛun ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi nutni d kra n tlawin, llan yid-sen daɣen watmaten n Sidna Ɛisa akk-d yemma-s, Meryem.
14These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15Deg ussan-nni, llan nnejmaɛen azal n meyya uɛecrin n wayetmaten, yekker-ed Buṭrus gar-asen, yenna-d :
15And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)
16Ay atmaten, ilaq a d-yedṛu wayen i d-yenna Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen si zik seg yimi n Sidna Dawed, ɣef wayen yeɛnan Yudas i d-yezwaren zdat n wid i geṭṭfen Sidna Ɛisa.
16Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;
17Yudas-agi yella d yiwen seg neɣ, yerna ițekki di leqdic-nneɣ ɣef Sidi Ṛebbi.
17for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.
18Argaz-agi yuɣ akal s yedrimen-nni n lexdeɛ, yuɣal yeɣli ɣef wudem, ifelleq uɛebbuḍ-is, mmaren-d akk ijuɣdan-is.
18(This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19Imezdaɣ n temdint n Lquds slan akk s wannect-agi, daymi i semman i wemkan-nni s tmeslayt-nsen : Ḥaqel damma , yeɛni iger n idammen.
19And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)
20Am akken yura di tektabt n Sabur : Axxam-is ad yexlu, ur t-izeddeɣ yiwen. Yura daɣen : Wayeḍ ad yeṭṭef amkan-is.
20For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
21Ilaq-aɣ ihi a d-nextiṛ yiwen seg wid yellan yid-nneɣ mi nțeddu d Sidna Ɛisa di mkul amkan,
21It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
22seg wasmi i t-isseɣḍes Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas armi d ass i deg yețwarfed ɣer igenni ; iwakken ad yili am nukkni d inigi n ḥeggu-ines.
22beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23Sbedden-d sin yergazen : Yusef yețțusemman Barsaba iwumi qqaṛen daɣen « Aḥeqqi » akk-d Matyas.
23And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24Dɛan ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi s imeslayen agi : A Sidi Ṛebbi, kečč yesnen ulawen n yemdanen meṛṛa, sbeggen aɣ-ed anwa deg-sen i gwulmen
24And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,
25iwakken ad iṭṭef amkan di lecɣal n ṛṛusul i ɣef yeṭṭaxeṛ Yudas, imi nețța iṛuḥ ɣer wemkan i s-ilaqen.
25to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.
26Gren tasɣaṛt, tṣaḥ-ed i Matyas ; dɣa rnan-t-id ɣer ḥdac-nni n ṛṛusul.
26And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
