1Mi gfukk ta?allit, Sidna Ɛisa yekker iṛuḥ nețța d inelmaden is, zegren iɣzer n Sidṛun. Dinna tella yiwet n tmazirt kecmen ɣuṛ-es.
1Jesus, having said these things, went out with his disciples beyond the torrent Cedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, he and his disciples.
2Yudas ara t-ixedɛen yessen mliḥ amkan-nni, axaṭer Sidna Ɛisa yennum ițṛuḥu ɣer dinna nețța d inelmaden-is.
2And Judas also, who delivered him up, knew the place, because Jesus was often there, in company with his disciples.
3Yudas yewwi-d yid-es tarbaɛt n lɛeskeṛ akk-d iɛessasen n lǧameɛ ; ceggɛen-ten-id lmuqedmin imeqqranen d ifariziyen, wwḍen-d ɣer tmazirt-nni. Wwin-d yid-sen tiftilin, isufa akk-d leslaḥ.
3Judas therefore, having got the band, and officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4Sidna Ɛisa yeẓran akk ayen ara yedṛun yid-es, iqeṛṛeb ɣuṛ-sen yenna yasen : ?ef wanwa i tețnadim ?
4Jesus therefore, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth and said to them, Whom seek ye?
5Nutni rran-as : Nețnadi ɣef Ɛisa anaṣari ! Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : D nekkini. Yudas, win akken ara t-ixedɛen yuɣ-it lḥal gar-asen.
5They answered him, Jesus the Nazaraean. Jesus says to them, I am [he]. And Judas also, who delivered him up, stood with them.
6Imi i sen-yenna Sidna Ɛisa « d nekkini », uɣalen akk ɣer deffir, ɣlin ɣer lqaɛa.
6When therefore he said to them, I am [he], they went away backward and fell to the ground.
7Sidna Ɛisa yesteqsa-ten daɣen yenna : ?ef wanwa i tețnadim ? Nutni rran-as : ?ef Ɛisa anaṣari !
7He demanded of them therefore again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus the Nazaraean.
8Sidna Ɛisa yerna yenna-yasen : Nniɣ-awen-d d nekk ! Ma d nekk i ɣef tețnadim, ǧǧet widak-agi ad ṛuḥen.
8Jesus answered, I told you that I am [he]: if therefore ye seek me, let these go away;
9Akka i gedṛa wawal-nni i d yenna yakan : « Ur sruḥeɣ ula d yiwen seg widak i yi-d-tefkiḍ. »
9that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, [As to] those whom thou hast given me, I have not lost one of them.
10Semɛun Buṭrus yejbed-ed ajenwi, yewwet yis aqeddac n lmuqeddem ameqqran, igzem-as ame??uɣ ayeffus. Aqeddac-agi isem-is Maṛxus.
10Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and smote the bondman of the high priest and cut off his right ear; and the bondman's name was Malchus.
11Sidna Ɛisa yenna i Buṭrus : Err ajenwi-inek ɣer titar-is (teɣlaft-is). Eɛni ur ilaq ara ad sweɣ taqbuct n leɛtab i yi-d-yefka Baba ?
11Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
12Lɛeskeṛ akk-d iɛessasen n lǧameɛ ṭṭfen Sidna Ɛisa,
12The band therefore, and the chiliarch, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him:
13wwin-t yețwarez ɣer wexxam n ?anna aḍeggal n Kayef yellan d lmuqeddem ameqqran aseggas-nni.
13and they led him away to Annas first; for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
14Kayef d win akken i sen-yennan i wat Isṛail : « Axiṛ ad immet yiwen kan ɣef lumma.»
14But it was Caiaphas who counselled the Jews that it was better that one man should perish for the people.
15Semɛun Buṭrus, nețța d yiwen unelmad nniḍen tebɛen Sidna Ɛisa. Anelmad-agi yessen lmuqeddem ameqqran s yiman-is ; itbeɛ Sidna Ɛisa mi t-wwin ɣer wefrag n wexxam n lmuqeddem ameqqran,
15Now Simon Peter followed Jesus, and the other disciple. But that disciple was known to the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest;
16ma d Buṭrus yeqqim di beṛṛa ɣer tama n tewwurt. Anelmad-nni yessnen lmuqeddem ameqqran yuɣal yeffeɣ ed, yehdeṛ-as i tɛessast n tewwurt, dɣa tessekcem Buṭrus.
16but Peter stood at the door without. The other disciple therefore, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the porteress and brought in Peter.
17Taqeddact-nni yețɛassan tawwurt, tenna i Buṭrus : Ur telliḍ ara ula d kečč seg inelmaden n wergaz-agi ? Buṭrus yerra-yas : Xaṭi, ur lliɣ ara seg-sen !
17The maid therefore, who was porteress, says to Peter, Art thou also of the disciples of this man? He says, I am not.
18Iqeddacen akk-d iɛessasen ceɛlen times di lkanun, zzin-as iwakken ad sseḥmun axaṭer d asemmiḍ. Buṭrus iqeṛṛeb ɣuṛ-sen ad yeẓẓiẓen ( ad isseḥmu ) ula d nețța.
18But the bondmen and officers, having made a fire of coals (for it was cold), stood and warmed themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
19Lmuqeddem ameqqran yebda yesteqsay Sidna Ɛisa ɣef wayen yeɛnan inelmaden-is d uselmed-ines.
19The high priest therefore demanded of Jesus concerning his disciples and concerning his doctrine.
20Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Hedṛeɣ ɛinani zdat lɣaci, slemdeɣ di leǧwameɛ n wat Isṛail, slemdeɣ daɣen deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen anda i gețnejmaɛ lɣaci, ur hdiṛeɣ ara s tuffra.
20Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I taught always in [the] synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews come together, and in secret I have spoken nothing.
21Iwacu i yi testeqsayeḍ ? Steqsi widak i yi-slan amek i sen-hedṛeɣ, nutni ẓran akk ayen i d-nniɣ.
21Why demandest thou of me? Demand of those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, they know what I have said.
22Mi d-yenna ayagi, yiwen uɛessas yellan zdat-es, yewwet it s useṛfiq, yenna-yas : Akka ara d-thedṛeḍ i lmuqeddem ameqqran ?
22But as he said these things, one of the officers who stood by gave a blow on the face to Jesus, saying, Answerest thou the high priest thus?
23Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ma nniɣ-ed ayen ixesṛen, ini yi-d d acu-t ; ma yella ț-țideț i d nniɣ, acuɣeṛ i yi-tewteḍ ?
23Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why smitest thou me?
24Imiren ?anna iceggeɛ Sidna Ɛisa yețwarez ɣer Kayef, lmuqeddem ameqqran.
24Annas [then] had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
25Semɛun Buṭrus mazal-it yeqqim yeẓẓiẓin deg wemkan-nni, iluɛa-t-id yiwen yenna-yas : I kečč, ur telliḍ ara d yiwen seg inelmaden n wergaz-agi ? Buṭrus inkeṛ yenna-yas : Xaṭi, ur lliɣ ara seg-sen !
25But Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, Art thou also of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.
26Yiwen seg iqeddacen n lmuqeddem ameqqran, yețțilin i win akken iwumi yegzem Semɛun Buṭrus ame??uɣ, iwehha-d ɣuṛ-es yenna-yas : Ur k-ẓriɣ ara yid-es di tmazirt ?
26One of the bondmen of the high priest, who was kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27Lameɛna Buṭrus yenkeṛ daɣen. Imiren kan iskkuɛ uyaziḍ.
27Peter denied therefore again, and immediately [the] cock crew.
28Mi d-ffɣen s ɣuṛ Kayef, lecyux n wat Isṛail wwin Sidna Ɛisa ɣer lḥakem Bilaṭus ; yuɣ lḥal d lefjer. Wid i t-yewwin ur kcimen ara ɣer daxel n lbeṛj (sṛaya) n Bilaṭus, iwakken ad qqimen d izedganen m'ara ččen imensi n lɛid n Tfaska.
28They lead therefore Jesus from Caiaphas to the praetorium; and it was early morn. And *they* entered not into the praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but eat the passover.
29Daymi i d-iffeɣ ɣuṛ-sen Bilaṭus, yesteqsa-ten yenna : D acu i gexdem wergaz-agi ?
29Pilate therefore went out to them and said, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
30Rran-as : Lemmer ur yexdim ara ayen n diri, tili ur k-t-id-nețțawi ara.
30They answered and said to him, If this [man] were not an evildoer, we should not have delivered him up to thee.
31Bilaṭus yenna-yasen : Atan ɣuṛ-wen, ḥekmet fell-as s ccariɛa-nwen ! Nutni nnan-as : Nukni ur nezmir ara a neḥkem ɣef yiwen s lmut !
31Pilate therefore said to them, Take him, ye, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not permitted to us to put any one to death;
32Ayagi, iwakken ad yedṛu wayen i d-yenna Sidna Ɛisa ɣef lmut i t-yețṛaǧun.
32that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.
33Bilaṭus yekcem ɣer wexxam n ccṛeɛ akken ad icaṛeɛ Sidna Ɛisa ; yesteqsa-t, yenna-yas : D kečč i d agellid n wat Isṛail ?
33Pilate therefore entered again into the praetorium and called Jesus, and said to him, Thou art the king of the Jews?
34Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Yella win i k-t-id-yennan neɣ d kečč i t-id-yennan s yiman-ik ?
34Jesus answered [him], Dost thou say this of thyself, or have others said it to thee concerning me?
35Bilaṭus yerra-yas : Tḥesbeḍ-iyi n wat Isṛail nekkini ? D lmuqedmin imeqqranen d wat n tmurt-ik i k-id-yewwin ɣuṛ-i ! D acu i txedmeḍ ?
35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy nation and the chief priests have delivered thee up to me: what hast thou done?
36Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tagelda-w mačči n ddunit-agi. Lemmer tagelda-w n ddunit-agi tili iqeddacen-iw nnuɣen akken ur d-ɣelliɣ ara ger ifassen n imeqqranen n wat Isṛail. S tideț tagelda-w mačči n dagi.
36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants had fought that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.
37Bilaṭus yenna-yas : Ihi d agellid i telliḍ ? Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tenniḍ-t-id s yiman-ik, d agellid i lliɣ ! Luleɣ-d yerna usiɣ-ed ɣer ddunit-agi akken a d-cehdeɣ ɣef tideț. Win iḥemmlen tideț, yesmeḥsis i wayen i d-qqaṛeɣ.
37Pilate therefore said to him, Thou art then a king? Jesus answered, Thou sayest [it], that I am a king. I have been born for this, and for this I have come into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
38Bilaṭus yenna-yas : D acu i ț-țideț ? Mi s-d-yenna ayagi, Bilaṭus yuɣal ɣer wat Isṛail yenna-yasen : Nekk, ur ufiɣ ara sebba s wayes ara ḥekmeɣ ɣef wergaz-agi.
38Pilate says to him, What is truth? And having said this he went out again to the Jews, and says to them, I find no fault whatever in him.
39Meɛna akken i tella lɛadda, di mkul lɛid n Tfaska țserriḥeɣ-awen-d i yiwen umeḥbus ; tebɣam ihi a d-serrḥeɣ i ugellid n wat Isṛail ?
39But ye have a custom that I release [some] one to you at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the king of the Jews?
40Dɣa nutni bdan țɛeggiḍen, qqaṛen : Ala ! Ur as-d-țserriḥ ara i nețța ! Serreḥ-ed i Baṛabas ! Baṛabas-agi, d argaz bu tmegṛaḍ.
40They cried therefore again all, saying, Not this [man], but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
