1Bilaṭus yefka lameṛ ad awin Sidna Ɛisa a t-wten s ujelkkaḍ.
1Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged [him].
2Lɛeskeṛ zḍan taɛeṣṣabt s isennanen, ssersen-as-ț ɣef wuqeṛṛuy, selsen-as daɣen abeṛnus azeggaɣ,
2And the soldiers having plaited a crown of thorns put it on his head, and put a purple robe on him,
3imiren țqeṛṛiben ɣer zdat-es qqaṛen : Azul fell-ak ay agellid n wat Isṛail ! Rnan kkaten-t s iṣeṛfiqen ( ibeqqayen ).
3and came to him and said, Hail, king of the Jews! and gave him blows on the face.
4Bilaṭus yeffeɣ-ed daɣen ɣer imeqqranen n wat Isṛail yenna-yasen : Atan a wen-t-id-awiɣ ɣer dagi akken aț-țeẓrem belli ur ufiɣ ara deg-s sebba s wayes ara ḥekmeɣ fell-as.
4And Pilate went out again and says to them, Lo, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find in him no fault whatever.
5Ssufɣen-d Sidna Ɛisa ɣer beṛṛa s tɛeṣṣabt-nni n isennanen akk-d ibidi ( abeṛnus ) azeggaɣ. Bilaṭus yenna-yasen : Atan ɣuṛ-wen !
5(Jesus therefore went forth without, wearing the crown of thorn, and the purple robe.) And he says to them, Behold the man!
6Mi t-walan imeqqranen n wat Isṛail d iɛessasen, bdan țɛeggiḍen : Semmeṛ-it ɣef wumidag ! Semmeṛ-it ɣef lluḥ ! Bilaṭus yenna yasen : Ma tebɣam a t-tsemmṛem ɣef wumidag, atan ɣuṛ-wen ! Ma d nekk, ur ufiɣ ara sebba s wayes ara ḥekmeɣ fell-as.
6When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him they cried out saying, Crucify, crucify [him]. Pilate says to them, Take him ye and crucify [him], for I find no fault in him.
7Lecyux n wat Isṛail rran-as : Nukni nesɛa ccariɛa ; ccariɛa nneɣ teqqaṛ-ed : Argaz am agi ilaq ad yemmet axaṭer yenna-d : « Nekk d Mmi-s n Ṛebbi.»
7The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to [our] law he ought to die, because he made himself Son of God.
8Imeslayen-agi sxelɛen Bilaṭus.
8When Pilate therefore heard this word, he was the rather afraid,
9Yuɣal yekcem ɣer wexxam n ccṛeɛ yesteqsa daɣen Sidna Ɛisa, yenna-yas : Ansi i d-tekkiḍ ? Sidna Ɛisa ur s-d-yerri ara awal.
9and went into the praetorium again and says to Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10Bilaṭus yenna-yas : Amek ! Ur iyi-d-țarraḍ ara awal ? Ur teẓriḍ ara belli zemreɣ a k-serḥeɣ, zemreɣ daɣen ad fkeɣ lameṛ a k-semmṛeɣ ɣef wumidag ?
10Pilate therefore says to him, Speakest thou not to *me*? Dost thou not know that I have authority to release thee and have authority to crucify thee?
11Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ur tezmireḍ i wacemma fell-i anagar ayen i k-d-yețțunefken seg igenni. Daymi win i yi-d-yewwin ger ifassen-ik yewwi ddnub akteṛ-ik.
11Jesus answered, Thou hadst no authority whatever against me if it were not given to thee from above. On this account he that has delivered me up to thee has [the] greater sin.
12Seg imiren Bilaṭus yețqellib amek ara d-iserreḥ i Sidna Ɛisa lameɛna lecyux n wat Isṛail sekkren leɛyaḍ, qqaṛen-as : Ma tserrḥeḍ-as i wergaz-agi ur telliḍ ara d aḥbib n Qayṣer, axaṭer win yerran iman-is d agellid, d aɛdaw n Qayṣer.
12From this time Pilate sought to release him; but the Jews cried out saying, If thou releasest this [man], thou art not a friend to Caesar. Every one making himself a king speaks against Caesar.
13Mi gesla i imeslayen-agi, Bilaṭus yessufeɣ-ed Sidna Ɛisa ɣer beṛṛa, yeqqim ɣef wukursi n ccṛeɛ deg umkan iwumi qqaṛen s tɛibṛanit «Gabbaṭa» yeɛni «afrag yessan s yeblaḍen».
13Pilate therefore, having heard these words, led Jesus out and sat down upon [the] judgment-seat, at a place called Pavement, but in Hebrew Gabbatha;
14Ass-nni, d ass uqbel lɛid n Tfaska ; aț-țili d leǧwahi n tnac, Bilaṭus yenna i lecyux n at Isṛail : Atan ugellid-nwen !
14(now it was [the] preparation of the passover; it was about the sixth hour;) and he says to the Jews, Behold your king!
15Meɛna nutni rnan ɛeggḍen : Enɣ-it ! Enɣ-it ! Semmeṛ-it ɣef wumidag ! Bilaṭus yenna-yasen : Amek ! Ad semmṛeɣ agellid nwen ? Lecyux n wat Isṛail rran-as : D Qayṣer i d agellid-nneɣ, ur nesɛi ara agellid nniḍen.
15But they cried out, Take [him] away, take [him] away, crucify him. Pilate says to them, Shall I crucify your king? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16Dɣa Bilaṭus yefka-yasen-t akken a t-semmṛen ɣef wumidag. ?ṭfen-d Sidna Ɛisa
16Then therefore he delivered him up to them, that he might be crucified; and they took Jesus and led him away.
17sbubben-as amidag, ffɣen si temdint, ulin ɣer wemkan yețțusemman « tiɣilt n uqeṛṛuy » ( iwumi qqaṛen s tɛibṛanit « Gulguṭa »).
17And he went out, bearing his cross, to the place called [place] of a skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha;
18Dinna i t-semmṛen ɣef lluḥ nețța akk-d sin nniḍen. Sbedden imidagen yiwen sya wayeḍ sya, Sidna Ɛisa di tlemmast.
18where they crucified him, and with him two others, [one] on this side, and [one] on that, and Jesus in the middle.
19Bilaṭus yumeṛ ad semmṛen yiwet n telwiḥt sennig uqeṛṛuy n Sidna Ɛisa, yura deg-s : « Ɛisa anaṣari, agellid n wat Isṛail.»
19And Pilate wrote a title also and put it on the cross. But there was written: Jesus the Nazaraean, the King of the Jews.
20Imi amkan-nni anda i t-semmṛen ur yebɛid ara ɣef temdint, aṭas n wat Isṛail i geɣṛan talwiḥt-nni yuran s tɛibṛanit, s tlatinit ț-țyunanit.
20This title therefore many of the Jews read, for the place of the city where Jesus was crucified was near; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, Latin.
21The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, Do not write, The king of the Jews, but that *he* said, I am king of the Jews.
22Bilaṭus yerra-yasen : Ayen uriɣ ad yeqqim akken i t-uriɣ.
22Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
23Mi semmṛen Sidna Ɛisa ɣef wumidag, lɛeskeṛ ddmen-d lqecc-is bḍan-ten ɣef ṛebɛa, yal yiwen yewwi amur-is ; yeqqim-ed ujellab-is ur nefṣil ur nxaḍ, mazal-it akken yezḍa seg yixef ɣer wayeḍ.
23The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified Jesus, took his clothes, and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and the body-coat; but the body-coat was seamless, woven through the whole from the top.
24Heddṛen wway gar-asen, nnan : Acuɣeṛ ara t-ncerreg, eyyaw axiṛ a nger tasɣaṛt fell-as a nẓer anwa ara t-yawin. S wakka i gennekmal wayen yuran di tira iqedsen : Feṛqen lqecc-iw, gren tasɣaṛt ɣef wubeṛnus-iw.» Akka i xedmen iɛsekṛiyen-nni.
24They said therefore to one another, Let us not rend it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it shall be; that the scripture might be fulfilled which says, They parted my garments among themselves, and on my vesture they cast lots. The soldiers therefore did these things.
25Zdat umidag, tbedd yemma-s n Sidna Ɛisa, weltma-s n yemma-s, Meryem tameṭṭut n Klufas akk-d Meryem tamagdalit.
25And by the cross of Jesus stood his mother, and the sister of his mother, Mary the [wife] of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.
26Mi gwala Sidna Ɛisa yemma-s tbedd ɣer tama n unelmad-nni i gḥemmel, yenna-yas : A tameṭṭut, atan mmi-m.
26Jesus therefore, seeing his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, says to his mother, Woman, behold thy son.
27Yenna daɣen i unelmad-nni : Ațan yemma-k. Seg imiren anelmad-nni yewwi-ț ɣer wexxam-is.
27Then he says unto the disciple, Behold thy mother. And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
28Mi geẓra Sidna Ɛisa dayen kullec ifuk, yenna iwakken ad nnekmalent tira iqedsen : Ffudeɣ !
28After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now finished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, says, I thirst.
29Yella dinna ubuqal yeččuṛen d lxell. Dmen-d ameččim n taḍuṭ cudden-t ɣer yixef n uɣanim, sbezgen t-id s lxell-nni, ssawḍen-as-t ɣer yimi-s.
29There was a vessel therefore there full of vinegar, and having filled a sponge with vinegar, and putting hyssop round it, they put it up to his mouth.
30Akken kan i geɛṛeḍ lxell-nni, Sidna Ɛisa yenna : Kullec yețwakemmel ! Yessekna aqeṛṛuy-is, yessufeɣ ṛṛuḥ.
30When therefore Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished; and having bowed his head, he delivered up his spirit.
31Tafaska n izimer n leslak yeɣli-d deg wass n westeɛfu. Tameddit n wass uqbel ass n westeɛfu, lecyux n wat Isṛail ur bɣin ara ad ǧǧen lǧețțat-nni ɣef yimidagen di leɛwaceṛ. Ṛuḥen ad ssutren i Bilaṭus a sen-ṛẓen iḍaṛṛen i widak-nni yețwasemmṛen ; iwakken ad kksen lǧețțat-nsen.
31The Jews therefore, that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for it was [the] preparation, (for the day of that sabbath was a great [day],) demanded of Pilate that their legs might be broken and they taken away.
32Lɛeskeṛ ṛuḥen, ṛẓan iḍaṛṛen i yiwen seg widak-nni yețwasemmṛen ț-țama n Sidna Ɛisa, syenna uɣalen ɣer wayeḍ.
32The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first and of the other that had been crucified with him;
33Mi wwḍen ɣer Sidna Ɛisa, ufan-t yemmut yakan, daymi ur s-ṛzin ara iḍaṛṛen-is.
33but coming to Jesus, when they saw that he was already dead they did not break his legs,
34Yiwen uɛeskṛi yessenta yas isekkin deg idis, imiren ffɣen-d waman akk-d idammen seg-s.
34but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.
35Win i d-yeḥkan ɣef wannect-agi d inigi n ṣṣeḥ, axaṭer d ayen i geẓra s wallen-is. Yezṛa ț-țideț i d-yenna, yenna-t-id akken aț-țamnem ula d kunwi.
35And he who saw it bears witness, and his witness is true, and he knows that he says true that ye also may believe.
36Ayagi meṛṛa yedṛa iwakken ad yețțukemmel wayen yuran di tira iqedsen : Ula d yiwen seg yeɣsan-is ur yețṛuz.
36For these things took place that the scripture might be fulfilled, Not a bone of him shall be broken.
37Yura daɣen : Ad ssersen tamuɣli ɣef win i fetken.
37And again another scripture says, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38Deffir wannect-agi meṛṛa, Yusef n taddart n Arimati iṛuḥ yessuter i Bilaṭus a t-yeǧǧ ad yawi lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa. Nețța daɣen yella d anelmad-is, lameɛna yeffer iman-is axaṭer ițțaggad lecyux n wat Isṛail. Bilaṭus yeqbel wayen i s-d yessuter ; dɣa Yusef iṛuḥ a d-yawi lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa nețța d Nikudem,
38And after these things Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly through fear of the Jews, demanded of Pilate that he might take the body of Jesus: and Pilate allowed it. He came therefore and took away the body of Jesus.
39win akken i gṛuḥen deg yiḍ ɣer Sidna Ɛisa. Nikudem yewwi-d yid-es azal n tlatin litrat n leɛṭeṛ ixeddmen i lmegtin.
39And Nicodemus also, who at first came to Jesus by night, came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds [weight].
40Di sin yid-sen, wwin-d lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa xedmen-as leɛṭeṛ akken i tella lɛadda n wat Isṛail, imiren țțlen-t s lekfen.
40They took therefore the body of Jesus and bound it up in linen with the spices, as it is the custom with the Jews to prepare for burial.
41Zdat wemkan anda semmṛen Sidna Ɛisa, tella deg yiwet n tmazirt yiwen n yefri yețwaheggan d aẓekka, ulac win i gmeḍlen deg-s.
41But there was in the place where he had been crucified a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid.
42Imi i geqṛeb yefri-nni, rran lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa ɣer daxel, axaṭer ass i d-iteddun d ass n westeɛfu n wat Isṛail.
42There therefore, on account of the preparation of the Jews, because the tomb was near, they laid Jesus.
