Darby's Translation

John

3

1Yella yiwen wergaz isem-is Nikudem i gellan si tejmaɛt n ifariziyen, d yiwen seg imeqqranen n wat Isṛail.
1But there was a man from among the Pharisees, his name Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
2Iṛuḥ-ed deg iḍ ɣer Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : A Sidi neẓra belli d Sidi Ṛebbi i k-id-iceggɛen iwakken a ɣ-teslemdeḍ, axaṭer yiwen ur izmir ad yexdem lbeṛhanat i txeddmeḍ m'ur yelli ara Ṛebbi yid-es.
2he came to him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God, for none can do these signs that thou doest unless God be with him.
3Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : S tideț a k-d-iniɣ : yiwen ur izmir ad iẓer tagelda n Ṛebbi m'ur d-iɛawed ara talalit.
3Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born anew he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4Nikudem yenna-yas : Amek i gezmer yiwen a d iɛiwed talalit ma yella d amɣaṛ ? Izmer ad yuɣal ɣer tɛebbuṭ n yemma-s a d iɛiwed talalit ?
4Nicodemus says to him, How can a man be born being old? can he enter a second time into the womb of his mother and be born?
5Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Nniɣ-ak s tideț : m'ur d-ilul ara yiwen seg waman akk-d Ṛṛuḥ, ur ițțizmir ara ad ikcem tagelda n Ṛebbi.
5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6Win i d-ilulen seg wemdan ț-țaṛwiḥt n wemdan, win i d-ilulen s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen d Ṛṛuḥ.
6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Ur țțawham ara imi i k-d-nniɣ « ilaq a d-tɛiwdem talalit.»
7Do not wonder that I said to thee, It is needful that *ye* should be born anew.
8Aḍu yețsuḍu ɣer wanda i s-yehwa, tselleḍ i ṣṣut-is lameɛna ur tẓerreḍ ara ansi d-yekka neɣ anda iteddu. Akka daɣen i gella ɣef kra n win i d-ilulen s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen.
8The wind blows where it will, and thou hearest its voice, but knowest not whence it comes and where it goes: thus is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9Nikudem yenna-yas : Amek ara yedṛu wayagi ?
9Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?
10Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tesselmadeḍ ccariɛa i wat Isṛail ur tessineḍ ara annect-agi ?
10Jesus answered and said to him, Thou art the teacher of Israel and knowest not these things!
11A k- iniɣ tideț: neqqaṛ-ed ayen kan i nessen, nețcehhid-ed s wayen i nwala, lameɛna kunwi ur teqbilem ara cchada-nneɣ.
11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that which we know, and we bear witness of that which we have seen, and ye receive not our witness.
12M'ur tuminem ara mi wen-d-hedṛeɣ ɣef temsalin n ddunit-agi amek ara tamnem s tid n igenwan ?
12If I have said the earthly things to you, and ye believe not, how, if I say the heavenly things to you, will ye believe?
13Yiwen ur yuli ɣer igenwan anagar Mmi-s n bunadem i d-iṣubben seg igenwan.
13And no one has gone up into heaven, save he who came down out of heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven.
14Akken i gɛelleq Musa azrem n nnḥas ɣef tgejdit deg unezṛuf, i glaq ad ițțuɛelleq daɣen Mmi-s n bunadem
14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus must the Son of man be lifted up,
15iwakken kra n win yumnen yis, ad yesɛu tudert n dayem.
15that every one who believes on him may [not perish, but] have life eternal.
16Sidi Ṛebbi iḥemmel imdanen n ddunit meṛṛa armi i d-yefka Mmi-s awḥid iwakken kra n win yumnen yis ur yețmețțat ara meɛna ad yesɛu tudert n dayem.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him may not perish, but have life eternal.
17Sidi Ṛebbi ur d-iceggeɛ ara Mmi-s ɣer ddunit iwakken ad iḥaseb imdanen meɛna iwakken a ten-isellek.
17For God has not sent his Son into the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him.
18Win yumnen yis ur yețțuḥaseb ara, ma d win ur numin ara atan yețțuḥaseb yakan, imi ur yumin ara s Mmi-s awḥid n Sidi Ṛebbi.
18He that believes on him is not judged: but he that believes not has been already judged, because he has not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
19Atah lḥisab yellan fell-as : « tafat tusa-d ɣer ddunit meɛna imdanen ḥemmlen ṭṭlam axiṛ n tafat, axaṭer lecɣal-nsen diri-ten. »
19And this is the judgment, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light; for their works were evil.
20Kra n win ixeddmen cceṛ, yekṛeh tafat yerna ur ițqeṛṛib ara ɣuṛ-es, ițțaggad a d-tessedheṛ yir lecɣal-is.
20For every one that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light that his works may not be shewn as they are;
21Ma d win iteddun di tideț yețțas-ed ɣer tafat akken a d-iban belli kra n wayen ixeddem, ixeddem it di lebɣi n Sidi Ṛebbi.
21but he that practises the truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they have been wrought in God.
22Syenna Sidna Ɛisa d inelmaden is ṛuḥen ɣer tmurt n Yahuda, qqimen dinna kra n wussan, sseɣḍasen lɣaci deg waman.
22After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he abode with them and baptised.
23Yeḥya daɣen yella yesseɣḍas lɣaci di Ɛinun ț-țama n Salim imi qwan waman dinna. Aṭas lɣaci i d-ițasen ɣuṛ-es iwakken a ten-isseɣḍes.
23And John also was baptising in Aenon, near Salim, because there was a great deal of water there; and they came to [him] and were baptised:
24Di lweqt-nni urɛad i skecmen Yeḥya ɣer lḥebs.
24for John was not yet cast into prison.
25Yiwen wass kra seg inelmaden n Yeḥya hedṛen d yiwen wergaz n wat Isṛail ɣef luḍu.
25There was therefore a reasoning of the disciples of John with a Jew about purification.
26Ṛuḥen ɣer Yeḥya, nnan-as : A Sidi, win yellan yid-ek mi telliḍ agemmaḍ i wasif n Urdun, win akken i ɣef d-tcehdeḍ, atan yesseɣḍas ula d nețța, lɣaci meṛṛa țṛuḥun ɣuṛ-es.
26And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, he baptises, and all come to him.
27Yeḥya yerra-yasen : Yiwen ur izmir ad ixdem ccɣel nniḍen sennig wayen i s-d-yefka Sidi Ṛebbi.
27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it be given him out of heaven.
28Aql-ikkun s yiman-nwen d inigan, acḥal d abrid i wen-d nniɣ : mačči d nekk i d Lmasiḥ, țwaceggɛeɣ d kan uqbel-is .
28Ye yourselves bear me witness that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am sent before him.
29Iwumi tewjed teslit ? Anaɣ i yesli ! Ma d aḥbib n yesli d win yețɣimin ɣer tama-s, ifeṛṛeḥ m'ara isel i ṣṣut n yesli. Ula d nekk tura lfeṛḥ-iw yennekmal.
29He that has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices in heart because of the voice of the bridegroom: this my joy then is fulfilled.
30Ilaq nețța ad yețțimɣuṛ nekk ad țțim?iyeɣ.
30He must increase, but I must decrease.
31Win i d-yusan seg igenni yella nnig n wayen yellan meṛṛa, ma d win yellan n ddunit-agi iheddeṛ anagar ɣef wayen yellan di ddunit. Win i d-yusan seg igenni yella sennig-nsen meṛṛa.
31He who comes from above is above all. He who has his origin in the earth is of the earth, and speaks [as] of the earth. He who comes out of heaven is above all,
32Icehhed-ed ɣef wayen yeẓra d wayen yesla, lameɛna yiwen ur iqbil cchada-ines.
32[and] what he has seen and has heard, this he testifies; and no one receives his testimony.
33Win ara iqeblen cchada-ines, yetḥeqqeq belli Sidi Ṛebbi yeqqaṛ tideț.
33He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true;
34S tideț amceggeɛ n Ṛebbi iheddeṛ imeslayen i s-d-yefka Ṛebbi, imi i t-yeččuṛ s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen.
34for he whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives not the Spirit by measure.
35Baba Ṛebbi iḥemmel Mmi-s, yerra kullec ger ifassen-is.
35The Father loves the Son, and has given all things [to be] in his hand.
36Win yumnen s Mmi-s yesɛa tudert ur nfennu ; ma d win ur numin ara s Mmi-s ur yețwali ara tudert, urrif n Ṛebbi yezga fell-as.
36He that believes on the Son has life eternal, and he that is not subject to the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.
