1Deg ubrid-is, Sidna Ɛisa iwala yiwen wergaz, d aderɣal seg wasmi i d-ilul.
1And as he passed on, he saw a man blind from birth.
2Inelmaden-is steqsan-t nnan-as : A Sidi, iwacu i d-ilul wergaz-agi d aderɣal ? Anwa i gdenben d nețța neɣ d imawlan-is ?
2And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this [man] or his parents, that he should be born blind?
3Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Tidderɣelt-agi ur d-tekki ara si ddnub-is neɣ si ddnub n imawlan-is, lameɛna iwakken medden meṛṛa ad ẓren ayen i gezmer Ṛebbi a t-ixdem.
3Jesus answered, Neither has this [man] sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be manifested in him.
4Skud mazal tafat n wass, ilaq-aɣ a nexdem lecɣal n win i yi-d iceggɛen ; iteddu-d yiḍ anda yiwen ur yezmir ad ixdem.
4I must work the works of him that has sent me while it is day. [The] night is coming, when no one can work.
5Skud mazal lliɣ di ddunit d nekk i ț-țafat n ddunit.
5As long as I am in the world, I am [the] light of the world.
6Mi d-yenna imeslayen-agi, Sidna Ɛisa yessusef ɣer lqaɛa, yexleḍ akal s tsusaf-is, yeḍla-t ɣef wallen n uderɣal-nni,
6Having said these things, he spat on the ground and made mud of the spittle, and put the mud, as ointment, on his eyes.
7yenna-yas : Ṛuḥ aț-țessirdeḍ di tala n Silwi (Silwi lmeɛna-ines «amceggeɛ»). Aderɣal-nni iṛuḥ a d-issired, mi d-yuɣal, yețwali.
7And he said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, which is interpreted, Sent. He went therefore and washed, and came seeing.
8Lǧiran-is akk-d wid i t-yessnen itețțer, qqaṛen : Argaz-agi mačči d win akken yețɣimin ɣer lqaɛa yezga yessutur tin n Ṛebbi ?
8The neighbours therefore, and those who used to see him before, that he was a beggar, said, Is not this he that was sitting and begging?
9Kra qqaṛen : D nețța. Wiyaḍ qqaṛen : Mačči d nețța, d wayeḍ i gțemcabin ɣuṛ-es. Ma d nețța yeqqaṛ : D nekk s yiman-iw.
9Some said, It is he; others said, No, but he is like him: *he* said, It is I.
10Nnan-as : Ihi amek i d-ldint wallen ik ?
10They said therefore to him, How have thine eyes been opened?
11Nețța yerra-yasen : Argaz-nni iwumi qqaṛen Ɛisa yexleḍ akal s tsusaf-is, yeḍla-t i wallen-iw, yenna-yi-d : « Ṛuḥ aț-țessirdeḍ di tala n Silwi.» Mi ṛuḥeɣ ssardeɣ, imiren kan yuɣal iyi-d yeẓri.
11He answered [and said], A man called Jesus made mud and anointed mine eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam and wash: and having gone and washed, I saw.
12Nutni nnan-as : Anda-t wergaz-agi ? Yenna-yasen : Ur ẓriɣ ara anda yerra
12They said therefore to him, Where is he? He says, I do not know.
13Wwin argaz-nni yellan zik d aderɣal ɣer ifariziyen.
13They bring him who was before blind to the Pharisees.
14Yuɣ lḥal deg wass n westeɛfu i gexleḍ Sidna Ɛisa akal s tsusaf-is, i s-d-yerra iẓri i uderɣal-nni.
14Now it was sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.
15Ifariziyen steqsan-t amek armi i t-id-yuɣal yeẓri. Nețța yenna-yasen : Yexleḍ akal s tsusaf-is, yeḍla-t ɣef wallen-iw, ṛuḥeɣ ssardeɣ udem-iw, imiren kan uɣaleɣ țwaliɣ.
15The Pharisees therefore also again asked him how he received his sight. And he said to them, He put mud upon mine eyes, and I washed, and I see.
16?ef wakka i nnan kra seg ifariziyen : Argaz-agi ur yezmir ara a d-yekk s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi, imi ur yețqadaṛ ara lqanun n wass n westeɛfu. Ma d wiyaḍ qqaṛen : Lemmer d amednub i gella amek i gezmer ad ixdem lbeṛhanat am wigi ? Yekker lxilaf ger lɣaci-nni,
16Some of the Pharisees therefore said, This man is not of God, for he does not keep the sabbath. Others said, How can a sinful man perform such signs? And there was a division among them.
17ifariziyen rnan steqsan daɣen aderɣal-nni : I kečč d acu ara d-tiniḍ deg wergaz-agi i k-d-yeldin allen ? Nețța yenna-yasen : Nekk a d-iniɣ, argaz-agi ț-țideț d nnbi.
17They say therefore again to the blind [man], What dost thou say of him, that he has opened thine eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.
18Lameɛna imeqqranen n wat Isṛail ugin ad amnen belli argaz-nni yella si zik d aderɣal, yuɣal yețwali. Uɣalen ceggɛen ɣer imawlan-is, usan-d.
18The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him that he was blind and had received sight, until they had called the parents of him that had received sight.
19Steqsan-ten nnan-asen : Argaz-agi, ț-țideț d mmi-twen ? D ṣṣeḥ ilul-ed d aderɣal ? Amek armi i guɣal yețwali tura ?
19And they asked them saying, This is your son, of whom ye say that he was born blind: how then does he now see?
20Imawlan n uderɣal-nni nnan asen : ?-țideț, d mmi-tneɣ yerna ilul-ed d aderɣal.
20His parents answered [them] and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21Meɛna amek i guɣal yețwali tura neɣ anwa i s-d-yerran i?ri... ur neẓri ara ! Steqsit-eț nețța, d argaz i gella, izmer a d-yerr s yiman-is.
21but how he now sees we do not know, or who has opened his eyes we do not know. *He* is of age: ask *him*; *he* will speak concerning himself.
22Imawlan-is nnan-asen akka, axaṭer uggaden lecyux n wat Isṛail i gqesden ad sṭixṛen si lǧameɛ-nsen kra n win ara icehden belli Ɛisa d Lmasiḥ.
22His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if any one confessed him [to be the] Christ, he should be excommunicated from the synagogue.
23Daymi i sen-nnan imawlan is : « D argaz i gella, yezmer ad yerr s yiman-is.»
23On this account his parents said, He is of age: ask *him*.
24Ifariziyen ssawlen tikkelt tis snat i wergaz-nni iwumi d-yuɣal yeẓri nnan-as : Ɛuzz Sidi Ṛebbi, ini-d tideț. Nukni neẓra belli argaz-agi d amednub.
24They called therefore a second time the man who had been blind, and said to him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is sinful.
25Nețța yerra-yasen : Ur ẓriɣ ara ma d amednub i gella ; nekk ẓriɣ yiwet lḥaǧa : « Lliɣ d aderɣal, tura țwaliɣ ».
25He answered therefore, If he is sinful I know not. One thing I know, that, being blind [before], now I see.
26Nnan-as daɣen : D acu i k-ixdem ? Amek i k-d-yeldi allen-ik ?
26And they said to him again, What did he do to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
27Yerra-yasen : Nniɣ-awen-t-id yakan meɛna ur iyi-d-semḥessem ara. Iwacu tebɣam a wen-t-id-ɛiwdeɣ ? Ula d kunwi tebɣam aț-țuɣalem d inelmaden-is ?
27He answered them, I told you already and ye did not hear: why do ye desire to hear again? do ye also wish to become his disciples?
28Regmen-t, nnan-as : D kečč i d anelmad-is, nukkni d inelmaden n Sidna Musa.
28They railed at him, and said, Thou art his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
29Neẓra belli Ṛebbi ihḍeṛ-ed i Sidna Musa, ma d wagi ur neẓri ara ansi i d-yekka.
29We know that God spoke to Moses; but [as to] this [man], we know not whence he is.
30Argaz-nni yerra-yasen : D ayen yessewhamen ! Argaz yeldi-yi-d allen, kunwi ur te?rim ara ansi i d-yekka !
30The man answered and said to them, Now in this is a wonderful thing, that *ye* do not know whence he is, and he has opened mine eyes.
31Medden akk ẓran belli Ṛebbi ur d-iqebbel ara ddeɛwat n yemcumen, lameɛna iqebbel-ed win i t-iḍuɛen, ixeddmen lbɣi-is.
31[But] we know that God does not hear sinners; but if any one be God-fearing and do his will, him he hears.
32Seg wasmi i d-texleq ddunit werǧin nesli s yiwen yeldi-d allen i win i d-ilulen d aderɣal.
32Since time was, it has not been heard that any one opened the eyes of one born blind.
33Lemmer argaz-agi mačči s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi i d-yekka tili ur yezmir ad yexdem acemma.
33If this [man] were not of God he would be able to do nothing.
34Rran-as : Amek ! Seg wasmi i d-luleḍ kečč di ddnub seg iḍaṛṛen armi d aqeṛṛuy, tura tusiḍ-ed a ɣ tesfehmeḍ ? Dɣa qecɛen-t ( ḍerqen-t ) ɣer beṛṛa.
34They answered and said to him, Thou hast been wholly born in sins, and thou teachest us? And they cast him out.
35Sidna Ɛisa yesla belli qecɛen argaz-nni ɣer beṛṛa. Iṛuḥ ɣuṛ-es, yenna-yas : Ini-yi-d, tumneḍ s Mmi-s n bunadem ?
35Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him, he said to him, Thou, dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36Yerra-yas : Anwa-t a Sidi ? Ini-yi-t-id iwakken ad amneɣ yis.
36He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?
37Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Aql-ik tețwaliḍ-t s wallen-ik, d nețța s yiman-is i d-yețmeslayen yid-ek tura.
37And Jesus said to him, Thou hast both seen him, and he that speaks with thee is he.
38Argaz-nni yenna-yas : Umneɣ a Sidi ! Dɣa yeɣli ɣef tgecrar zdat-es.
38And he said, I believe, Lord: and he did him homage.
39Sidna Ɛisa yenna : D wagi i d lḥisab ɣef wacu i d-usiɣ ɣer ddunit : wid ur nețwali ara ad walin, wid yețwalin ad uɣalen d iderɣalen.
39And Jesus said, For judgment am I come into this world, that they which see not may see, and they which see may become blind.
40Kra n ifariziyen i geslan i imeslayen-is steqsan-t, nnan-as : Ihi ula d nukkni d iderɣalen ?
40And [some] of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him, Are we blind also?
41Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Lemmer ț-țideț d iderɣalen i tellam tili ulac ddnub fell-awen, lameɛna tura imi teqqaṛem nețwali, ddnub i yirawen-nwen.
41Jesus said to them, If ye were blind ye would not have sin; but now ye say, We see, your sin remains.
