Darby's Translation

Romans

11

1Ad iniɣ : eɛni Sidi Ṛebbi inkeṛ agdud-is ? Xaṭi ! Imi nekk s yiman-iw n wat Isṛail, si dderya n Sidna Ibṛahim, seg wedrum n Benyamin.
1I say then, Has God cast away his people? Far be the thought. For *I* also am an Israelite, of [the] seed of Abraham, of [the] tribe of Benjamin.
2Sidi Ṛebbi ur yenkiṛ ara agdud-is i gextaṛ si zik. Ur teẓrim ara d acu i d-qqaṛent tira iqedsen, asmi i geccetka nnbi Ilyas i Sidi Ṛebbi ɣef wat Isṛail ? Yenna :
2God has not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture says in [the history of] Elias, how he pleads with God against Israel?
3 A Sidi Ṛebbi ! Nɣan lenbiya i d ceggɛeḍ, hudden idekkanen anda i k-d-țqeddimen lɣaci iseflawen, anagar nekk i d yeqqimen yerna țnadin a yi-nɣen !
3Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have dug down thine altars; and *I* have been left alone, and they seek my life.
4Lameɛna atah wamek i s-d-yerra Sidi Ṛebbi : Xtaṛ-aɣ-ed i yiman-iw sebɛa alaf n yergazen ur nseǧǧed ara zdat lmeṣnuɛ Baɛl.
4But what says the divine answer to him? I have left to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed knee to Baal.
5Akka daɣen, di lweqt-agi i deg nella tura, llan kra seg wat Isṛail i geṭṭfen deg-s, d wid i gextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi, s ṛṛeḥma-ines.
5Thus, then, in the present time also there has been a remnant according to election of grace.
6Mačči ɣef ddemma n lefɛayel-nsen i ten-yextaṛ meɛna s ṛṛeḥma-ines. Neɣ m'ulac ma yella s lefɛayel i gțextiṛi Sidi Ṛebbi, ṛṛeḥma-ines ur tețțusemma ara d ṛṛeḥma.
6But if by grace, no longer of works: since [otherwise] grace is no more grace.
7Amek ihi ? Ayen i nudan wat Isṛail ur t-wwiḍen ara, anagar wid i gextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi i t-yewwḍen ; ma d wiyaḍ qquṛen wulawen-nsen.
7What [is it] then? What Israel seeks for, that he has not obtained; but the election has obtained, and the rest have been blinded,
8Akken yura di tektabt iqedsen : Sidi Ṛebbi yeqfel lɛeqliya-nsen, allen-nsen ur țwalint ara, i meẓẓuɣen-nsen ur sellen ara, ar ass-agi.
8according as it is written, God has given to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this day.
9Ula d Sidna Dawed yenna : Imensi n tmeɣṛiwin-nsen a sen-yuɣal ț-țasraft anda ara ɣlin, d acebbak ara d-yesseɣlin. fell-asen lɛiqab uklalen
9And David says, Let their table be for a snare, and for a gin, and for a fall-trap, and for a recompense to them:
10 A d-yeɣli ṭṭlam ɣef wallen-nsen iwakken ur țwalin ara, lqedd-nsen ad yeknu i dayem !
10let their eyes be darkened not to see, and bow down their back alway.
11Acu ara d-iniɣ ihi ? Eɛni at Isṛail ɣlin iwakken ur țțuɣalen ara a d kkren ? Xaṭi ! Lameɛna s tuccḍa-nsen i wwḍen leǧnas nniḍen ɣer leslak. D annect-agi i d-issekkren tismin i wat Isṛail.
11I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall [there is] salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy.
12Ma yella tuccḍa-nsen tesserbeḥ at ddunit, teṣṣaweḍ-iten ɣer leslak, ma yella lexsaṛa-nsen tewwi-d rrbeḥ i yegduden nniḍen, ihi acḥal meqqṛet lbaṛaka ara d-iffɣen seg-sen m'ara d-uɣalen ɣer webrid n Sidi Ṛebbi, iwakken ad țțuselken.
12But if their fall [be the] world's wealth, and their loss [the] wealth of [the] nations, how much rather their fulness?
13Nekk i d-ițwaceggɛen d ṛṛasul i leǧnas ur nelli ara n wat Isṛail, fkiɣ aṭas n lqima i ccɣel-agi i yi-d ițțunefken
13For I speak to you, the nations, inasmuch as *I* am apostle of nations, I glorify my ministry;
14iwakken ma yella wamek, a d ssekkreɣ tismin i watmaten-iw n wat Isṛail, ahat ad țțuselken kra deg-sen.
14if by any means I shall provoke to jealousy [them which are] my flesh, and shall save some from among them.
15Axaṭer ma yella aɛzal n wat Isṛail isemṣalaḥ leǧnas nniḍen akk-d Sidi Ṛebbi, acu ara yedṛun ihi m'ara d-uɣalen nutni ɣer webrid n Sidi Ṛebbi ? Ad yili am akken d ḥeggu i d-ḥyan si ger lmegtin !
15For if their casting away [be the] world's reconciliation, what [their] reception but life from among [the] dead?
16Now if the first-fruit [be] holy, the lump also; and if the root [be] holy, the branches also.
17Akka i tedṛa d wat Isṛail : kra n tṣedwa țwagezment si tzemmurt, kečč a win ur nelli ara n wat Isṛail, yellan d aḥeccad, tețwaleqmeḍ deg umkan-nsent ; ma yella tețțekkiḍ deg izuṛan n tzemmurt d zzit-is,
17Now if some of the branches have been broken out, and *thou*, being a wild olive tree, hast been grafted in amongst them, and hast become a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18ur ilaq ara aț-țḥeqṛeḍ tiseḍwa-nni yețwagezmen. ?ader iman-ik ɣef zzux, axaṭer mačči d kečč i geṭṭfen aẓar meɛna d aẓar i k-iṭṭfen.
18boast not against the branches; but if thou boast, [it is] not *thou* bearest the root, but the root thee.
19A d-tiniḍ ihi : « țwagezment kra n tṣedwa iwakken ad țțuleqmeɣ nekkini ».
19Thou wilt say then, The branches have been broken out in order that *I* might be grafted in.
20Ayagi ț-țideț ; nutni țwagezmen axaṭer ur uminen ara, ma d kečč teṭṭfeḍ amkan-nsen imi tumneḍ. ?ader iman-ik ɣef zzux, aggad Sidi Ṛebbi axiṛ-ik !
20Right: they have been broken out through unbelief, and *thou* standest through faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
21Axaṭer akken i gegzem tiseḍwa n laṣel n tzemmurt iwakken a k-ileqqem fell-as, i gezmer a k-igzem ula d kečč.
21if God indeed has not spared the natural branches; lest it might be he spare not thee either.
22Meyyez ihi acḥal ḥnin Sidi Ṛebbi, acḥal daɣen yewɛeṛ : yewɛeṛ ɣer wid yeɣlin, ma d kečč d aḥnin ɣuṛ-ek ma teṭṭfeḍ di leḥnana-ines, neɣ m'ulac aț-țețwagezmeḍ ula d kečč.
22Behold then [the] goodness and severity of God: upon them who have fallen, severity; upon thee goodness of God, if thou shalt abide in goodness, since [otherwise] *thou* also wilt be cut away.
23Ula d at Isṛail m'ur kemmlen ara di leǧhel-nsen, zemren ad țțuleqmen, axaṭer Sidi Ṛebbi yezmer a ten ileqqem, a ten-yerr ɣer tzemmurt nsen.
23And *they* too, if they abide not in unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able again to graft them in.
24Ma yella kečč i d-ițwagezmen seg uḥeccad, tețțuleqmeḍ ɣef tzemmurt n lɛali ɣas akken d aḥeccad i telliḍ, acḥal ihi i sen-ishel i nutni yellan ț-țiṣeḍwa n tzemmurt iwakken ad uɣalen ad țțuleqmen ɣef tzemmurt-nsen.
24For if *thou* hast been cut out of the olive tree wild by nature, and, contrary to nature, hast been grafted into the good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature be grafted into their own olive tree?
25Ur bɣiɣ ara ay atmaten aț țețwaffer fell-awen lbaḍna-agi, iwakken ur tḥețțbem ara iman-nwen d wid yessnen. Kra seg wat Isṛail, sseɣṛen ulawen-nsen ɣef wawal n Sidi Ṛebbi yerna akka ara kemmlen di taɣaṛt-nsen alamma yewweḍ leslak i leǧnas meṛṛa.
25For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, that ye may not be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the nations be come in;
26Imiren ad țțuselken wat Isṛail irkul asmi ara d-yedṛu wayen i d-nnant tira iqedsen : A d-iffeɣ umsellek seg wedrar n Siyun, a sen-yekkes i warraw n Yeɛqub lekfeṛ-nsen ;
26and so all Israel shall be saved. According as it is written, The deliverer shall come out of Zion; he shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
27 ț-țagi i d lemɛahda ara xedmeɣ yid-sen m'ara sen-kkseɣ ddnubat-nsen .
27And this is the covenant from me to them, when I shall have taken away their sins.
28?ef wayen yeɛnan lexbaṛ n lxiṛ, at Isṛail uɣalen d iɛdawen n Ṛebbi, ma d kunwi tesfaydim-d deg wayagi. Meɛna ma nemmuqel ɣer lxetyaṛ n Sidi Ṛebbi, iḥemmel-iten ɣef ddemma n lejdud-nsen.
28As regards the glad tidings, [they are] enemies on your account; but as regards election, beloved on account of the fathers.
29Axaṭer Sidi Ṛebbi ur ineddem ara ɣef wid yextaṛ neɣ deg wayen i d-yețțak.
29For the gifts and the calling of God [are] not subject to repentance.
30Zik-nni tellam tɛuṣam Sidi Ṛebbi, lameɛna tețțunefk-awen-d ṛṛeḥma-ines i kunwi imi i t-ɛuṣan wat Isṛail,
30For as indeed *ye* [also] once have not believed in God, but now have been objects of mercy through the unbelief of *these*;
31akken daɣen ara sen-d tețțunefk ula i nutni i t-iɛuṣan tura, ṛṛeḥma i wen-d-ițțunefken i kunwi.
31so these also have now not believed in your mercy, in order that *they* also may be objects of mercy.
32Axaṭer Sidi Ṛebbi yeǧǧa imdanen meṛṛa a t-ɛaṣin iwakken a sen-d-yefk daɣen meṛṛa ṛṛeḥma-ines.
32For God hath shut up together all in unbelief, in order that he might shew mercy to all.
33Acḥal lqayit, acḥal meqqṛit leɛqel ț-țmusni n Sidi Ṛebbi ! Anwa i gzemren ad yissin lḥekmat-ines neɣ ad ifhem iberdan-is ?
33O depth of riches both of [the] wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and untraceable his ways!
34Akken yura di tira iqedsen : Anwa i geṣṣawḍen ad yissin ixemmimen n Sidi Ṛebbi neɣ anwa i gzemren ad idebbeṛ fell-as ?
34For who has known [the] mind of [the] Lord, or who has been his counsellor?
35 Anwa i s-yefkan kra d amezwaru iwakken ad yeṛǧu a s-t-id-yerr ?
35or who has first given to him, and it shall be rendered to him?
36Kullec yekka-d s ɣuṛ-es, kullec yella-d yis, kullec d ayla-s. I nețța lɛaḍima si lǧil ɣer lǧil, amin !
36For of him, and through him, and for him [are] all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.
