1Acu ara d-nini ihi ? A nkemmel a nețɛici di ddnub iwakken ṛṛeḥma n Sidi Ṛebbi aț-țimɣuṛ ?
1What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2Ala ! Nukni i gemmuten ɣef ddemma n ddnub, amek ara nkemmel a nețɛici deg-s ?
2Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
3Neɣ ur teẓrim ara belli nukni akk i gețwaɣeḍsen iwakken a neddukel d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ, nețwaɣḍeṣ yid-es di lmut-is ?
3Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?
4S weɣḍas, nețwamḍel yid-es iwakken, nukni daɣen a d-neḥyu akken i d-yeḥya Lmasiḥ si ger lmegtin s tezmert n Ṛebbi, a nekcem di tudert tajḍiṭ.
4We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life.
5Axaṭer ma necrek yid-es di lmut-is, a necrek daɣen yid-es di ḥeggu-ines.
5For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;
6Ilaq-aɣ a nẓer belli amdan-nni i nella zik, yemmut, ițwasemmeṛ akk-d Lmasiḥ iwakken aț-țemmet lǧețța yeččuṛen d ddnub, ur nețțili ara d aklan n ddnub.
6knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.
7Axaṭer win yemmuten islek si ddnub,
7For he that has died is justified from sin.
8imi nemmut akk-d Lmasiḥ, numen daɣen belli a nidir yid-es.
8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,
9Neẓra belli Lmasiḥ seg wasmi i d-yeḥya si ger lmegtin, ur yețțuɣal ara ad immet, lmut ur tezmir ara aț-țeḥkem fell-as.
9knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.
10Axaṭer taluft n ddnub yefra-ț ɣef yiwet n tikkelt i dayem, s lmut-is. Tura atan d lḥey, idder i Sidi Ṛebbi.
10For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.
11Ula d kunwi ḥesbet iman-nwen am akken temmutem ɣef wayen yeɛnan ddnub. Ɛicet i Ṛebbi di tdukkli akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
11So also *ye*, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12Tura ur țțaǧat ara ddnub ad iḥkem fell-awen, ur xeddmet ara ccehwat n tnefsit-nwen am zik.
12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to obey its lusts.
13Ur țțaǧat ara lemfaṣel n lǧețțat-nwen ad ɣlint di ddnub, iwakken ad ixdem yis-sen cceṛ ; lameɛna qeddmet iman-nwen i Ṛebbi am win i d-iḥyan si lmut iwakken aț-țqeddcem fell-as a ț-țxeddmem anagar lxiṛ.
13Neither yield your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God as alive from among [the] dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God.
14Ddnub ur yețțuɣal ara ad iḥkem fell-awen axaṭer ur tellim ara seddaw n ccariɛa lameɛna seddaw n ṛṛeḥma n Sidi Ṛebbi.
14For sin shall not have dominion over *you*, for ye are not under law but under grace.
15Acu ara d-nini ihi ? A neǧǧ ddnub ad idebbeṛ fell-aɣ tura imi nella seddaw n ṛṛeḥma n Sidi Ṛebbi mačči seddaw n ccariɛa ? A ɣ-imneɛ Ṛebbi deg wannect-agi !
15What then? should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Far be the thought.
16Ur teẓrim ara belli ma tuɣalem d aklan n yiwen iwakken ad idebbeṛ fell-awen, ilaq a s-taɣem awal ama d ddnub yețțawin ɣer lmut neɣ d ṭṭaɛa n Ṛebbi yețțawin ɣer tudert taḥeqqit.
16Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedience, ye are bondmen to him whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17Lameɛna a neḥmed Ṛebbi imi zik tellam d aklan n ddnub, ma tura tḍuɛem s wulawen-nwen awal i tlemdem.
17But thanks [be] to God, that ye were bondmen of sin, but have obeyed from the heart the form of teaching into which ye were instructed.
18Tețțusellkem-d si ddnub tuɣalem d aklan n lḥeqq.
18Now, having got your freedom from sin, ye have become bondmen to righteousness.
19Tura a wen-d-hedṛeɣ s lɛeqliya nwen iwakken aț-țfehmem axaṭer annect-agi yewɛeṛ i lefhama. Am akken tsellmem iman-nwen zik d aklan i lɛaṛ iwakken aț-țxedmem lɛaṛ, tura sellmet iman-nwen d aklan i lḥeqq d ṣṣwab iwakken aț-țeṣfu tudert-nwen.
19I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness.
20Asmi tellam d aklan n ddnub texḍam i lḥeqq.
20For when ye were bondmen of sin ye were free from righteousness.
21Acu i trebḥem s lecɣal-nni s wayes tessetḥam tura, lecɣal-nni i gețțawin ɣer lmut.
21What fruit therefore had ye *then* in the things of which ye are *now* ashamed? for the end of *them* [is] death.
22Tura tețwaselkem si ddnub, tuɣalem d iqeddacen n Ṛebbi, lfayda nwen ț-țikli deg webrid yeṣfan akk-d tudert n dayem.
22But *now*, having got your freedom from sin, and having become bondmen to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life.
23Ddnub yețțawi ɣer lmut, ma d ṛṛeḥma n Sidi Ṛebbi tewwi-yaɣ-d tudert n dayem di tikli-nneɣ akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ Ssid-nneɣ.
23For the wages of sin [is] death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
