1Mi gweṣṣa tnac-nni inelmaden is, Sidna Ɛisa iṛuḥ syenna ad ibecceṛ di tudrin n leǧwahi-nni.
1It happened that when Jesus had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2Yeḥya yellan di lḥebs, yesla s lecɣal n Lmasiḥ, iceggeɛ ɣuṛ-es inelmaden is iwakken a s-inin :
2Now when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples
3D kečč i d win akken ara d yasen neɣ ilaq-aɣ a nerǧu wayeḍ ?
3and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”
4Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen-d : Ṛuḥet ssiwḍet-as lexbaṛ i Yeḥya ɣef wayen twalam d wayen teslam :
4Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
5Iderɣalen țwalin, iquḍaren leḥḥun, ibeṛsiyen ṣeffun, iɛeẓẓugen sellen, lmegtin ḥeggun-d, lexbaṛ n lxiṛ ițțubecceṛ i yimeɣban.
5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, Isaiah 35:5 the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. Isaiah 61:1-4
6D aseɛdi win iwumi ur țțiliɣ ara d sebba n tuccḍa ( ugur ) !
6 Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
7Mi ṛuḥen inelmaden-is, Sidna Ɛisa yebda iheddeṛ i lɣaci ɣef Yeḥya : D acu i tṛuḥem a t-id-teẓrem deg unezṛuf ? D aɣanim yețhuzzu waḍu ?
7As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
8Ɣer wacu i tṛuḥem aț-țfeṛǧem ? ƔƔer yiwen wergaz yelsan llebsa ifazen ? Wid yețlusun llebsa ifazen, deg ixxamen n igelliden i țțilin.
8 But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in king’s houses.
9Anwa i ɣer tṛuḥem a t-id-teẓrem ihi ? D yiwen n nnbi ? Țideț ih, d nnbi ! A wen-iniɣ : yugar nnbi.
9 But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
10Axaṭer d nețța i ɣef yura : Atan zewwreɣ zdat-ek amceggeɛ-inu, iwakken ad iheggi abrid zdat-ek.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ Malachi 3:1
11A wen-iniɣ tideț : ulac mmi-s n tmeṭṭut yugaren Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas. Lameɛna, amecṭuḥ maḍi di tgelda n igenwan, meqqeṛ akteṛ-is.
11 Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12Seg wussan-nni i deg ițbecciṛ Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas armi ț-țura, imdanen țnaɣen ɣef tgelda n igenwan, bɣan a ț-țkecmen s ddreɛ.
12 From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. or, plunder it.
13Axaṭer ccariɛa n Musa d lenbiya hedṛen-d ɣef tgelda n igenwan armi d lweqt n Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

14 If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

16Ɣer wuɣuṛ ara metleɣ lǧil-agi ? Icuba ɣer warrac yeqqimen deg uzniq, ssawalen i warrac nniḍen, qqaṛen asen :
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
17Newwet ajewwaq uur tecḍiḥem ara, nnecna cnawi n leḥzen uur tmeǧdem ara.
17 and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
18Axaṭer Yeḥya yusa-d, ur iteț ur itess, tennam : « izdeɣ-it uṛuḥani. »
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’
19Mmi-s n bunadem yusa-d, iteț, itess am wiyaḍ, teqqaṛem : «` Ițxemmim kan ɣef wučči ț-țissit, d amdakkul n imekkasen ixeddaɛen akk-d yir imdanen » lameɛna tideț tban-ed s lecɣal-is.
19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children. NU reads “actions” instead of “children” ”
20Sidna Ɛisa ibda ițlumu timdinin nni i deg ixdem aṭas n lbeṛhanat, axaṭer imezdaɣ-is ur d-uɣalen ara ɣer webrid n Ṛebbi.
20Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
21A nnger-im a tamdint n Kurazim ! A nnger-im a tamdint n Bitsayda ! Axaṭer lemmer lbeṛhanat yedṛan deg-kkunt dṛan di temdinin n Sur akk-d Sidun, tili imezdaɣ-nsent aṭas aya i sburren tacekkaṛt n leḥzen, qqimen ɣef yiɣiɣden iwakken a d sbegnen belli ndemmen uɣalen-d ɣer ubrid n Ṛebbi.
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22Daymi, imezdaɣ n temdinin-agi ad țuɛaqben akteṛ n wid n temdinin n Sur akk-d Sidun.
22 But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
23Ula d kemm a tamdint n Kafernaḥum, tɣileḍ aț-țaliḍ ɣer igenni ? Xaṭi ! Aț-țețwaḍeggreḍ ɣer laxeṛt ; axaṭer lemmer di temdint n Sudum i dṛan lbeṛhanat i gedṛan ɣuṛ-em, tili mazal-iț ar ass-a !
23 You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. or, Hell For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day.
24Daymi, ass n lḥisab anegaru aț-țețțuɛaqbeḍ akteṛ n tmurt n Sudum.
24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, on the day of judgment, than for you.”
25Di lweqt-nni, Sidna Ɛisa inṭeq yenna : Ḥemmdeɣ-k a Baba Ṛebbi, a Bab igenwan d lqaɛa, imi i d tessekneḍ i imecṭaḥ ayen i teffreḍ i imusnawen d lɛuqal.
25At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
26Ih a Baba Ṛebbi ! Ḥemmdeɣ-k imi d wagi i d lebɣi-k.
26 Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
27Baba Ṛebbi yerra-d kullec ger ifassen-iw. YYiwen ur yessin Mmi-s n Ṛebbi anagar Baba Ṛebbi ! Yiwen ur issin daɣen Baba Ṛebbi anagar Mmi-s akk-d win iwumi yebɣa Mmi-s a s-t-id-isken.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
28Aset-ed ɣuṛ-i a wid akk yeɛyan, iɛebban taɛekkumt ẓẓayen, a wen-fkeɣ talwit d westeɛfu.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
30Azaglu-inu yeshel, taɛekkumt-iw fsuset.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
