26

1Mi gfukk Sidna Ɛisa imeslayen-agi, yenna i inelmaden-is : --
1It happened, when Jesus had finished all these words, that he said to his disciples,
2Mazal sin wussan i lɛid n Tuffɣa, Mmi-s n bunadem ad ițțuzenz iwakken ad ițuṣemmer ɣef wumidag.
2 “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3Dɣa lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud nnejmaɛen deg ufrag n Kayef, i gellan d lmuqeddem ameqqran.
3Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
4Msefhamen ad ṭṭfen Sidna Ɛisa s tḥila iwakken a t-nɣen.
4They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit, and kill him.
5Meɛna nnan : « mačči deg ussan-agi n lɛid n Tuffɣa ara t-neḥbes, neɣ m'ulac ad yekker ccwal ger lɣaci .»
5But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people.”
6Mi gella Sidna Ɛisa di taddart n Bitanya, deg wexxam n Semɛun abeṛsi,
6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7ațaya yiwet n tmeṭṭut tewwi-d tabuqalt yețwaxedmen s wedɣaɣ amellal, teččuṛ d leɛṭeṛ ɣlayen. Mi geqqim Sidna Ɛisa ɣer ṭṭabla, tameṭṭut-nni tusa-d tesmar leɛṭeṛ-nni ɣef wuqeṛṛuy-is.
7a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.
8Mi walan ayagi, inelmaden iɣaḍ-iten lḥal, nnan : Iwumi lexsaṛa-yagi ?
8But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
9Lemmer nezzenz leɛṭeṛ-nni, tili yewwi-d ssuma tameqqrant ara nefṛeq i igellilen !
9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.”
10Sidna Ɛisa yeẓran wayen nnan wway-gar-asen, yenna-yasen : Acuɣeṛ i tesḥeznem tameṭṭut agi ? D ayen yelhan i yi-texdem !
10However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? Because she has done a good work for me.
11Axaṭer aț-țesɛum daymen igellilen yid-wen, meɛna nekk ur țțiliɣ ara daymen yid-wen.
11 For you always have the poor with you; but you don’t always have me.
12Mi d-tesmar leɛṭeṛ-agi fell-i, d lǧețța-w i thegga i temḍelt-iw.
12 For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
13A wen-iniɣ tideț : di yal amkan n ddunit i deg ara ițțubecceṛ lexbaṛ n lxiṛ, a d țmektayen tameṭṭut-agi d wayen texdem.
13 Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”
14Imiren Yudas n Qeṛyut, yiwen si tnac-nni inelmaden n Sidna Ɛisa, iṛuḥ ɣer lmuqedmin imeqqranen,
14Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,
15yenna yasen : Ma wwiɣ-kkun ɣuṛ-es a t-id teṭṭfem, d acu ara yi-tefkem ? FFkan-as tlatin iṣurdiyen n lfeṭṭa.
15and said, “What are you willing to give me, that I should deliver him to you?” They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16Seg imiren, Yudas yețɛassa tagniț i deg ara yizmir ad izzenz Sidna Ɛisa.
16From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17Ass amezwaru n lɛid n weɣṛum mbla iɣes n temtunt , inelmaden usan-d ɣer Sidna Ɛisa nnan-as : A Sidi, anda tebɣiḍ a k-nheggi imensi n lɛid n Izimer n leslak ?
17Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
18Yerra-yasen : Ṛuḥet ɣer temdint, ɣer leflani, init-as : yenna-yak Ssid-nneɣ, lweqt-iw yewweḍ-ed, deg uxxam-ik ara sɛeddiɣ lɛid n Izimer n leslak nekk d inelmaden-iw.
18He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”
19Inelmaden-nni xedmen ayen i sen-yenna Sidna Ɛisa, heggan imensi n lɛid n Izimer n leslak.
19The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.
20Mi d-teɣli tmeddit, Sidna Ɛisa yeqqim ad yečč nețța d inelmaden-is.
20Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.
21Mi llan tețțen yenna-yasen : A wen-iniɣ tideț : yiwen seg-wen ad iyi-izzenz.
21As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22Mi d-yenna ayagi, ikcem-iten akk leḥzen d ameqqran, bdan qqaṛen as yiwen yiwen : Neɣ mačči d nekk a Sidi ?
22They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”
23Yerra-yasen : Win igren afus-is yid-i deg uḍebsi, d nețța ara yi-izzenzen.
23He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me.
24Ad yedṛu d Mmi-s n bunadem akken yura fell-as ; mmeɛna a nnger n win ara t-izzenzen, lemmer ur d-ilul ara axiṛ-is.
24 The Son of Man goes, even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
25Yudas ara t-ixedɛen yenṭeq yenna-yas : Eɛni d nekk a Sidi ? SSidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Atan tenniḍ-t-id !
25Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”
26Mi llan tețțen, Sidna Ɛisa yeddem-d aɣṛum, iḥmed Ṛebbi, icekkeṛ-it, dɣa yebḍa-t, ifṛeq-it i inelmaden-is, yenna-yasen : Eččet aɣṛum-agi : d lǧețța-w.
26As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
27Iddem-ed daɣen taqbuct, iḥmed Ṛebbi, icekkeṛ-it, yefka-yasen-ț, yenna-yasen : Swet akk si teqbuct-agi,
27He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,
28axaṭer ayagi d idammen-iw, d idammen n lemɛahda ara yazzlen ɣef yizumal n lɣaci ɣef ddemma n leɛfu n ddnubat-nsen.
28 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29A wen-d-iniɣ : ur țțuɣaleɣ ara ad sweɣ seg waman-agi n tẓurin alamma d ass i deg ara ten-sweɣ d ijdiden yid-wen, di tgelda n Baba Ṛebbi.
29 But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
30Mi ḥemden Sidi Ṛebbi s ccnawi d isefra, ṛuḥen ulin ɣer yiɣil n uzemmur,
30When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31dinna Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : Iḍ-agi ad a wen-iliɣ akk d sebba n tuccḍa, axaṭer yura di tira iqedsen ad wwteɣ ameksa, ulli n tqeḍɛit-is ad rewlent ɣer yal tama .
31Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32Meɛna m'ara d-ḥyuɣ si ger lmegtin, ad iyi-tafem zwareɣ ɣer tmurt n Jlili.
32 But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”
33Buṭrus yenṭeq, yenna : Ɣas a sen-tiliḍ d sebba n tuccḍa i wiyaḍ akk, nekk d lmuḥal ad ccḍeɣ.
33But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”
34Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : A k-iniɣ tideț : deg iḍ-agi uqbel ad iskkuɛ uyaziḍ, ad iyi-tnekṛeḍ tlata iberdan.
34Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
35Buṭrus yerra-yas : Ɣas lukan d lmut ara mmteɣ yid-ek, d lmuḥal a k-nekkṛeɣ ! UUla d inelmaden nniḍen, nnan-as am nețța.
35Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.
36Imiren Sidna Ɛisa iṛuḥ yid-sen ɣer yiwen wemkan ițțusemman Jitsimani, yenna i inelmaden-is : Qqimet dagi, nekk ad ṛuḥeɣ ad dɛuɣ ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
36Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”
37Yewwi yid-es Buṭrus akk-d sin warraw-nni n Zabadi ; yebda ikcem-it leḥzen d leɣben d ameqqran.
37He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.
38Dɣa yenna-yasen : Ḥusseɣ s leḥzen n lmut, qqimet dagi, ɛiwzet yid-i !
38Then he said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch with me.”
39Iṛuḥ yeɣli ɣef wudem, ibda yețẓalla yeqqaṛ : A Baba Ṛebbi, ma yella wamek , ssebɛed fell-i leɛtab-agi ! Meɛna akken tebɣiḍ keččini, mačči akken bɣiɣ nekkini.
39He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
40Yuɣal-ed ɣer inelmaden-is, yufa-ten-id ṭṭsen, yenna i Buṭrus : Ur tezmirem ara aț-țɛiwzem yid-i ula d yiwet n ssaɛa ?
40He came to the disciples, and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?
41Ɛiwzet, ẓallet, iwakken ur tɣellim ara deg ujeṛṛeb ! Axaṭer ṛṛuḥ n wemdan yeǧhed ma d lǧețța ur tezmir ara !
41 Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
43Mi d-yuɣal, yufa-ten-id daɣen ṭṭsen, iɣleb-iten nuddam.
43He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44Yeǧǧa-ten, issebɛed iman-is daɣen fell-asen, yedɛa tikkelt tis tlata am tikkelt-nni tamezwarut.
44He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
45Mi d-yuɣal ɣer inelmaden-is, yufa-ten-id mazal-iten ṭṭsen ; yenna yasen : Lweqt i deg ara yețwasellem Mmi-s n bunadem ɣer ifassen n yemcumen iwweḍ-ed, kunwi mazal ikkun teṭṭsem ?
45Then he came to his disciples, and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46Dɣa yenna-yasen : Ekkret fell-awen, ataya iteddu-d win i yi-izzenzen !
46 Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
47Mazal-it ițmeslay mi d-iwweḍ Yudas yellan d yiwen si tnac-nni inelmaden. Ddan-d yid-es aṭas n lɣaci s iɛekkzan d ijenwiyen, ceggɛen ten-id imeqqranen n lmuqedmin akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud.
47While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priest and elders of the people.
48Win akken i t-izzenzen, imsefham yid-sen, yenna-yasen : Win i ɣef ara selmeɣ, d win ara teṭṭfem !
48Now he who betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”
49Imiren, iqeṛṛeb ɣer Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Sslam fell-ak a Sidi ! DDɣa isellem fell-as.
49Immediately he came to Jesus, and said, “Hail, Rabbi!” and kissed him.
50Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ay amdakkel , ayen ɣef i d-tusiḍ a t-txedmeḍ, xdem-it ! DDɣa lɣaci-nni qeṛṛben ɣer Sidna Ɛisa ṭṭfen-t.
50Jesus said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51Yiwen seg wid yeddan d Sidna Ɛisa ijbed-ed ajenwi-ines, yewwet aqeddac n lmuqeddem ameqqran, igzem-as-d ameẓẓuɣ-is.
51Behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear.
52Sidna Ɛisa yenṭeq yenna-yas : Err ajenwi-inek ɣer wemkan-is, axaṭer kra win ara irefden ajenwi, ad immet s ujenwi !
52Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.
53Eɛni tɣileḍ ur zmireɣ ara ad ssutreɣ i Baba ad iyi-d-iceggeɛ luluf n lmalayekkat ?
53 Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
54Amek ihi ara țwakemlent tira iqedsen i d-ixebbṛen belli ilaq a d-yedṛu wayagi meṛṛa ?
54 How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”
55Imiren Sidna Ɛisa yenna i lɣaci : Kull ass țțiliɣ yid-wen di lǧameɛ sselmadeɣ, ur iyi-teṭṭifem ara, ass-agi tusam-d ɣuṛ-i s iɛekkzan d ijenwiyen am akken d bu tmegṛaḍ i lliɣ !
55In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
56Meɛna annect-agi meṛṛa yedṛa-d iwakken ad țwakemlent tira n lenbiya. IImiren, inelmaden meṛṛa ǧǧan-t, yal yiwen ɣer wanda yerwel.
56 But all this has happened, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him, and fled.
57Wid yeṭṭfen Sidna Ɛisa wwin-t ɣer Kayef, ameqqran n lmuqedmin, anda i nnejmaɛen lɛulama n ccariɛa d imeqqranen n wegdud.
57Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
58Buṭrus iḍfeṛ-it, ikcem ɣer wefrag n lmuqeddem ameqqran, yeqqim akk-d iɛessasen n lǧameɛ iwakken ad iẓer amek ara tefru temsalt.
58But Peter followed him from a distance, to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.
59Imiren lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d usqamu n imeqqranen n ccariɛa, țnadin inigan ara icehden fell-as s ẓẓuṛ, iwakken ad ḥekmen fell-as s lmut,
59Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death;
60meɛna ur s-d-ufin ara sebba, ɣas akken aṭas i d-icehden fell-as.
60and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward,
61A ten-aya sin yergazen qeṛṛben d nnan : D wagi i d-yennan : « zemreɣ ad huddeɣ lǧameɛ iqedsen n Sidi Ṛebbi, a s-ɛiwdeɣ lebni di tlata wussan.»
61and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
62Ameqqran n lmuqedmin ikker, yenna-yas : Ulac ayen ara d-terreḍ ɣef wayen akka i d-ccetkan fell-ak ?
62The high priest stood up, and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”
63Sidna Ɛisa yessusem. Dɣa ameqqran n lmuqedmin yenna-yas : Wekkleɣ-ak Sidi Ṛebbi yeddren, m'ur aɣ-d-tenniḍ ma d kečč i d Lmasiḥ, Mmi-s n Sidi Ṛebbi !
63But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tenniḍ-t-id ! Yerna a wen-iniɣ, ssya d asawen : Mmi-s n bunadem aa d iḥkem ɣɣ er uyeffus n Bab n tezmert, a t-twalim iteddu-d ɣef wusigna seg yigenni.
64Jesus said to him, “You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
65Imiren ameqqran n lmuqedmin icerreg aqenduṛ-is yenna : Ikfeṛ ! Iwumi neḥwaǧ inigan tura ? Teslam akk d acu i d-yenna ! D acu tennam ?
65Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66Rran-as-d : Yuklal lmut !
66What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”
67Dɣa bdan ssusufen-t, țțaken-as tiyitiwin d ibeqqayen,
67Then they spit in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,
68qqaṛen-as : Eɛqel a Lmasiḥ, ini-yaɣ-d anwa i k-iwwten !
68saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”
69Buṭrus yella yeqqim deg ufrag, tqeṛṛeb-ed ɣuṛ-es yiwet n tqeddact tenna-yas : Ula d kečč telliḍ d Ɛisa ajlili !
69Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!”
70Meɛna yenkeṛ zdat-sen meṛṛa yenna-yas : Ur ẓriɣ ara d acu tebɣiḍ a d tiniḍ !
70But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
71Akken ițeddu ɣer tewwurt, twala-t tqeddact nniḍen, tenna i wid akk yellan dinna : Wagi yella akk-d Ɛisa anaṣari !
71When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him, and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72Inkeṛ daɣen s limin : Qqaṛeɣ-awen ur ssineɣ ara argaz-agi !
72Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”
73Taswiɛt kan, wid yellan dinna qeṛṛben daɣen ɣer Buṭrus nnan-as : Mbla ccekk, kečč telliḍ seg-sen, tameslayt-ik tbeggen-ed belli d ajlili i telliḍ !
73After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
74Ibda yețgalla irennu : Di leɛmeṛ ur ssineɣ argaz-agi ! IImiren kan yeskkuɛ uyaziḍ.
74Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
75Dɣa Buṭrus immekta-d imeslayen-nni i s-d-yenna Sidna Ɛisa : uqbel ad iskkuɛ uyaziḍ, ad iyi-tnekṛeḍ tlata n tikkal . Yeffeɣ ɣer beṛṛa s nndama tameqqrant, iṭṭerḍeq d imeṭṭawen.
75Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” He went out and wept bitterly.
