1Taṣebḥit, nnejmaɛen-d akk imeqqranen n lmuqedmin akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud, mcawaṛen iwakken ad nɣen Sidna Ɛisa.
1Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2Dɣa urzen-t, wwin-t i Bilaṭus, yellan d lḥakem n Ṛuman yesteɛemṛen tamurt.
2and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
3Mi gwala ḥekmen ɣef Sidna Ɛisa, Yudas-nni i t-ixedɛen yendem. DDi nndama-nni-ines tameqqrant, iṛuḥ ɣer imeqqranen n lmuqedmin d imeqqranen n wegdud, yerra-yasen tlatin-nni twiztin n lfeṭṭa, dɣa
3Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4yenna yasen : Denbeɣ, nekk i wen-d-izzenzen amdan aḥeqqi. RRran-as-d : Ur aɣ-d-tewqiɛ ara lmeɛna, wagi d ccɣel-ik.
4saying, “I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You see to it.”
5Yudas iḍeggeṛ tiwiztin-nni di lǧameɛ iqedsen, imiren iṛuḥ iɛelleq iman-is.
5He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.
6Imeqqranen n lmuqedmin leqḍen-d tiwiztin-nni n lfeṭṭa, nnan : Ur yeḥlil ara a tent-nerr ɣer usenduq n lǧameɛ iqedsen, imi d lexlaṣ n temgeṛt.
6The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.”
7Mi mcawaṛen d acu ara xedmen s twiztin-nni, msefhamen iwakken ad aɣen iger n yiwen wergaz ixeddmen afexxaṛ, iwakken a t-erren ț-țimeqbeṛt i ibeṛṛaniyen.
7They took counsel, and bought the potter’s field with them, to bury strangers in.
8Daymi iger-agi ițțusemma ar ass-a : « Iger n idammen ».
8Therefore that field was called “The Field of Blood” to this day.
9S wakka i gedṛa wayen i d-yenna nnbi Irmiya : Ddmen-d tlatin n twiztin n lfeṭṭa, d wagi i d azal i s-fkan warraw n wat Isṛail ;
9Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah some manuscripts omit “Jeremiah” the prophet was fulfilled, saying, “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,
10uɣen-d yis iger ɣer win ixeddmen afexxaṛ, akken i yi-d-yumeṛ Sidi Ṛebbi.
10and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.” Zechariah 11:12-13; Jeremiah 19:1-13; 32:6-9
11Sidna Ɛisa ibedd zdat lḥakem Bilaṭus. Yesteqsa-t lḥakem-nni yenna-yas : D kečč i d agellid n wat Isṛail ? SSidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tenniḍ-t-id !
11Now Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “So you say.”
12Lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud sseḍlamen deg-s, ma d nețța ur sen-d-yerri ula d acemma.
12When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13Bilaṭus yenna i Sidna Ɛisa : Eɛni ur tesliḍ ara ayen akk ɣef i d-țcetkin fell-ak ?
13Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?”
14Sidna Ɛisa yessusem, ur as-d yerri ula d yiwen wawal, ayagi d ayen iswehmen lḥakem.
14He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.
15Lḥakem yennum di mkul lɛid n Tuffɣa ițserriḥ-ed i yiwen umeḥbus i gextaṛ lɣaci.
15Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner, whom they desired.
16Yella yakan yiwen umeḥbus mechuṛen, ițțusemman Barabas.
16They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17Mi d-nnejmaɛen akk lɣaci, Bilaṭus isteqsa-ten : Anwa i tebɣam a s-d-serrḥeɣ : i Barabas neɣ i Ɛisa ițțusemman Lmasiḥ ?
17When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?”
18Axaṭer yeẓra s tismin i s-d-wwin Ɛisa.
18For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
19Mi gella Bilaṭus ițcaṛaɛ, tceggeɛ-as-d tmeṭṭut-is, tenna-yas-d : Ur ssekcam ara iman-ik di temsalt n uḥeqqi-agi, axaṭer ass-agi targit urgaɣ fell-as terwi-yi.
19While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.”
20Imeqqranen n lmuqedmin akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud sḥeṛcen-d lɣaci iwakken ad ssutren a d-serrḥen i Barabas, ad nɣen Sidna Ɛisa.
20Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
21Lḥakem yenna-yasen : Anwa ger sin-agi iwumi tebɣam ad serrḥeɣ ? RRran-as : I Barabas ! Serreḥ-ed i Barabas !
21But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
22Bilaṭus yenna-yasen : D acu ara xedmeɣ ihi i Ɛisa ițțusemman Lmasiḥ ? RRran-as-d akk : Ad ițțusemmeṛ ɣef wumidag !
22Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus, who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”
23Lḥakem yenna : D acu i gexdem n diri ? RRnan țɛeggiḍen : Semmeṛ-it ɣef wumidag !
23But the governor said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, saying, “Let him be crucified!”
24Mi gwala lɣaci ugin a s-d ḥessen, yerna ccwal simmal yețțimɣuṛ, Bilaṭus yeddem-ed aman, issared ifassen-is zdat lɣaci, yenna : Nekk ur țekkiɣ ara di tazzla n idammen n uḥeqqi-agi, wagi d ccɣel-nwen.
24So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”
25Lɣaci meṛṛa nnan-as : Tazzla n idammen-is a d-tuɣal ɣef yirawen-nneɣ d yirawen n warraw-nneɣ.
25All the people answered, “May his blood be on us, and on our children!”
26Imiren Bilaṭus iserreḥ-ed i Barabas, jelkḍen Sidna Ɛisa, dɣa yefka lameṛ a t-semmṛen ɣef wumidag.
26Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.
27Iɛsekṛiyen n lḥakem ssufɣen Sidna Ɛisa ɣer ufrag, snejmaɛen-d akk iɛsekṛiyen nniḍen, zzin-as.
27Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.
28Imiren kksen-as llebsa-s, sselsen as abeṛnus azeggaɣ.
28They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.
29Zḍan taɛeṣṣabt s isennanen, ssersen-as-ț ɣef wuqeṛṛuy is, fkan-as aɣanim ɣer ufus-is ayeffus. Bdan kennun zdat-es, stehzayen fell-as, qqaṛen-as : Sslam fell-ak ay agellid n wat Isṛail !
29They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
30Ssusufen-t, kkaten-t s uɣanim ɣer uqeṛṛuy.
30They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
31Mi ɛyan deg ustehzi fell-as, kksen-as abeṛnus-nni, rran-as llebsa-s, wwin-t a t-semmṛen ɣef wumidag.
31When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32Mi d-ffɣen, mlalen-d yiwen wergaz n tmurt n Qiṛwan, isem-is semɛun, ḥettmen fell-as ad ibbib amidag n Sidna Ɛisa.
32As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
33Mi wwḍen ɣer yiwen wemkan ițțusemman Gulguṭa, yeɛni « amkan n uxecxuc »,
33They came to a place called “Golgotha,” that is to say, “The place of a skull.”
34fkan-as ad isew ccṛab i deg yexleḍ yiwen uɛeqqaṛ aṛzagan. Iɛreḍ-it, yugi a t-isew.
34They gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
35Mi t-semmṛen ɣef wumidag, gren tasɣaṛt iwakken ad feṛqen llebsa-ines, s wakka, yedṛa-d wayen yuran di tira iqedsen : feṛqen llebsa-w, gren tasɣart ɣef wuqenduṛ-iw.
35When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots, TR adds “that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: ‘They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots;’” [see Psalm 22:18 and John 19:24]
36Imiren qqimen a t-ɛassen,
36and they sat and watched him there.
37ɛelqen sennig uqeṛṛuy-is talwiḥt i ɣef uran sebba n lmut-is : Wagi d Ɛisa, agellid n wat Isṛail
37They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
38Țwasemmṛen yid-es sin imcumen, yiwen ɣer uyeffus-is wayeḍ ɣer uẓelmaḍ-is.
38Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
39Imsebriden țhuzzun iqeṛṛay-nsen reggmen-t,
39Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
40qqaṛen-as : A win ițhuddun lǧameɛ iqedsen ibennu-t di tlata wussan, sellek iman-ik ma d Mmi-s n Ṛebbi i telliḍ, ers-ed seg umidag-nni.
40and saying, “You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
41Imeqqranen n lmuqedmin, lɛulama n ccariɛa akk-d imeqqranen n wegdud, stehzayen fell-as ula d nutni, qqaṛen :
41Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, TR omits “the Pharisees” and the elders, said,
42Isellek wiyaḍ ur yezmir ad isellek iman-is ! Ma d agellid n wat Isṛail i gella, a d-yers ihi seg umidag iwakken a namen yis.
42“He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
43Yețkel ɣef Ṛebbi, a t-isellek ihi Ṛebbi ma iḥemmel-it aaxaṭer yenna-d : « Nekk d Mmi-s n Ṛebbi.»
43He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
44Ula d imcumen-nni ițțusemmṛen yid-es, regmen-t am wiyaḍ.
44The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.
45Deg uzzal si tnac armi d țlata n tmeddit, yeɣli-d ṭṭlam ɣef ddunit meṛṛa.
45Now from the sixth hour noon there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 3:00 P. M.
46Ɣef leǧwahi n țlata, Sidna Ɛisa iɛeggeḍ s tɛibṛanit, yenna : Ilya, Ilya, lama sabaqtani ? Yeɛni : Illu-iw, Illu-iw, acuɣeṛ i yi-teǧǧiḍ ?
46About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima TR reads “lama” instead of “lima” sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Psalm 22:1
47Kra seg wid iḥedṛen dinna slan d acu i genna, qqaṛen : Issawal i nnbi Ilyas !
47Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.”
48Imiren kan yiwen seg-sen yuzzel yeddem-ed ameččim n taḍuṭ isselxes-it di lxell, icudd-it ɣef wuɣanim yefka-yas ad isew.
48Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
49Wiyaḍ qqaṛen : Anfet-as, a nwali ma yella a d-yas nnbi Ilyas a t-isellek.
49The rest said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”
50Sidna Ɛisa iɛeggeḍ tikkelt nniḍen, dɣa iffeɣ-it Ṛṛuḥ.
50Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
51Imiren kan abeḥnuq n leḥjab yellan di lǧameɛ iqedsen icerreg ɣef sin, seg ixef ufella armi d akessar. Lqaɛa tergagi, idurar ceqqeqen,
51Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
52iẓekwan ldin, aṭas seg iḥeqqiyen yemmuten, ḥyan-d
52The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53ffɣen-d seg iẓekwan-nsen. Mi d-iḥya Sidna Ɛisa, kecmen ɣer temdint iqedsen, aṭas n lɣaci iwumi i d-ḍehṛen.
53and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
54Lḥakem yellan d aqeṛṛuy ɣef meyya iɛsekṛiyen akk-d iɛsekṛiyen iɛussen Sidna Ɛisa, tekcem-iten tugdi mi walan tergagi lqaɛa d wayen akk yedṛan, nnan : Ț-țideț, argaz-agi d Mmi-s n Ṛebbi !
54Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God.”
55Aṭas n tilawin i gellan dinna, țmuqulent-ed si lebɛid. Ț-țiggad-nni i d-yeddan d Sidna Ɛisa si tmurt n Jlili iwakken a s-qedcent.
55Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.
56Tella gar-asent Meryem tamagdalit, Meryem yemma-s n Yeɛqub d Yusef akk-d d yemma-s n warraw n Zabadi.
56Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
57Mi d-tewweḍ tmeddit, yusa-d yiwen umeṛkanti n temdint n Arimati isem-is Yusef, ula d nețța d anelmad n Sidna Ɛisa.
57When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathaea, named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus’ disciple came.
58Iṛuḥ ɣer Bilaṭus yessuter-as lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa. Bilaṭus yumeṛ ad a s-ț-id-fken.
58This man went to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.
59Yusef yeddem-ed lǧețța n Sidna Ɛisa, ițțel-iț di lekfen zeddigen,
59Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60issers-iț deg yiwen uẓekka ajdid, i geɣza deg uzṛu. Yeɣleq tawwurt n uẓekka-nni s weblaḍ ameqqran, dɣa iṛuḥ.
60and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
61Meryem tamagdalit akk-d Meryem-nni nniḍen, llant dinna qqiment, qublent-ed aẓekka.
61Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
62Azekka nni yellan d ass n uheggi n wass n westeɛfu, imeqqranen n lmuqedmin d ifariziyen ṛuḥen ɣer Bilaṭus
62Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
63nnan-as : A Sidi, necfa ɣef wayen i d-yenna ukeddab-agi asmi yedder, yenna-d : Ad ɛeddin tlata wussan, a d-ḥyuɣ si ger lmegtin .
63saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’
64Ceggeɛ iɛessasen ad ɛassen aẓekka-s alamma d ass wis tlata, iwakken inelmaden-is ur d-țasen ara ad akren lǧețța-s, ad inin i wegdud : « iḥya-d si ger lmegtin. » Neɣ m'ulac lekdeb-agi aneggaru ad yaggar amezwaru.
64Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, ‘He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”
65Bilaṭus yenna-yasen-d : Awit iɛessasen, ṛuḥet ɛasset-ț akken tebɣam.
65Pilate said to them, “You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.”
66Ṛuḥen, zemmemen aken ilaq tawwurt n uẓekka-nni s weblaḍ, imiren sbedden taɛessast zdat-es.
66So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
