¹As to the rest, then, brethren, we request you, and call upon you in the Lord Jesus, as ye did receive from us how it behoveth you to walk and to please God, that ye may abound the more,

²Fa fantatrareo ny didy nomenay anareo avy tamin'i Jesosy Tompo.

²for ye have known what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus,

³Fa izao no sitrapon'Andriamanitra, dia ny hanamasinana anareo, hifadianareo ny fijangajangana,

³for this is the will of God — your sanctification; that ye abstain from the whoredom,

⁴mba samy hahafantatra izay hahazoanareo ny fanaky ny tenanareo avy, amin'ny fahamasinana sy ny voninahitra,

⁴that each of you know his own vessel to possess in sanctification and honour,

⁵tsy amin'ny filàna fotsiny, tahaka ny jentilisa izay tsy mahalala an'Andriamanitra,

⁵not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,

⁶mba tsy hisy hanao saina hifetsy ny rahalahiny amin'izany; fa ny Tompo no mpamaly ny amin'izany zavatra rehetra izany, toy ny nolazainay sy nambaranay taminareo rahateo. [ Na: amin'ny raharaha]

⁶that no one go beyond and defraud in the matter his brother, because an avenger [is] the Lord of all these, as also we spake before to you and testified,

⁷Fa Andriamanitra tsy niantso antsika ho amin'ny fahalotoana, fa amin'ny fahamasinana.

⁷for God did not call us on uncleanness, but in sanctification;

⁸Koa izay mandà, dia tsy olona no laviny, fa Andriamanitra, Izay manome anareo ny Fanahiny Masina.

⁸he, therefore, who is despising — doth not despise man, but God, who also did give His Holy Spirit to us.

⁹Fa ny amin'ny fifankatiavan'ny mpirahalahy, dia tsy misy tokony hosoratako aminareo, satria ny tenanareo dia ampianarin'Andriamanitra hifankatia.

⁹And concerning the brotherly love, ye have no need of [my] writing to you, for ye yourselves are God-taught to love one another,

¹⁰Fa manao izany ihany ianareo amin'ny rahalahy rehetra eran'i Makedonia; nefa mananatra anareo ihany izahay, ry rahalahy, mba hitombo bebe kokoa,

¹⁰for ye do it also to all the brethren who [are] in all Macedonia; and we call upon you, brethren, to abound still more,

¹¹ary mba hokendrenareo ny ho tafatoetra tsara sy hitandrina ny raharahanareo ary hiasa amin'ny tananareo araka ny nandidianay anareo,

¹¹and to study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we did command you,

¹²mba handehananareo amin'izay fitondran-tena mahamendrika amin'ny eo ivelany, ary mba tsy hanan-java-mahory ianareo.

¹²that ye may walk becomingly unto those without, and may have lack of nothing.

¹³[Ny hihavian'i Kristy sy ny toetry ny Kristiana izay modi-mandry] Fa tsy tianay tsy ho fantatrareo, ry rahalahy, ny amin'izay modi-mandry, mba tsy hahalahelovanareo tahaka ny sasany izay tsy manana fanantenana.

¹³And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, that ye may not sorrow, as also the rest who have not hope,

¹⁴Fa raha inoantsika fa efa maty Jesosy sady efa nitsangana indray, dia toy izany koa no hitondran'Andriamanitra izay efa nodi-mandry tao amin'i Jesosy hiaraka aminy. [ Na: tamin'ny alalan'i Jesosy]

¹⁴for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also God those asleep through Jesus he will bring with him,

¹⁵Fa izao no lazainay aminareo amin'ny tenin'ny Tompo: isika, izay velona ka mbola mitoetra mandra-pihavin'ny Tompo, dia tsy mba hialoha izay efa nodi-mandry tsy akory.

¹⁵for this to you we say in the word of the Lord, that we who are living — who do remain over to the presence of the Lord — may not precede those asleep,

¹⁶Fa ny tenan'ny Tompo no hidina avy any an-danitra amin'ny fiantsoana sy ny feon'ny arikanjely ary ny trompetran'Andriamanitra, ka izay maty ao amin i Kristy no hitsangana aloha;

¹⁶because the Lord himself, in a shout, in the voice of a chief-messenger, and in the trump of God, shall come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first,

¹⁷ary rehefa afaka izany, dia isika izay velona ka mbola mitoetra no hakarina hiaraka aminy ho eny amin'ny rahona hitsena ny Tompo any amin'ny habakabaka; dia ho any amin'ny Tompo mandrakariva isika.Koa dia mifampionòna ianareo amin'izany teny izany.

¹⁷then we who are living, who are remaining over, together with them shall be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in air, and so always with the Lord we shall be;

¹⁸Koa dia mifampionòna ianareo amin'izany teny izany.

¹⁸so, then, comfort ye one another in these words.
