1[Toky ho an'ny olon'Andriamanitra fa tsy ho resin'ny fahavalony izy] Tamin'ny taona fahatelo nanjakan'i Kyrosy, mpanjakan'i Persia, dia nisy nambara tamin'i Daniela, izay atao hoe Beltesazara; marina ny teny, ary ady mafy no nolazainy; ary nahalala ny teny izy sady nahafantatra ny fahitana.
1In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a thing is revealed to Daniel, whose name is called Belteshazzar, and the thing [is] true, and the warfare [is] great: and he hath understood the thing, and hath understanding about the appearance.
2Tamin'izany andro izany izaho Daniela dia nisaona roatokom-bolana mipaka.
2`In those days, I, Daniel, have been mourning three weeks of days;
3Tsy nihinana hanim-py aho, sady tsy nanendry hena na divay ny vavako, ary tsy nihosotra diloilo akory aho ambara-pahatapitry ny roatokom-bolana mipaka.
3desirable bread I have not eaten, and flesh and wine hath not come in unto my mouth, and I have not anointed myself at all, till the completion of three weeks of days.
4Ary tamin'ny andro fahefatra amby roa-polo tamin'ny volana voalohany, raha teo amoron'ny ony lehibe aho (Hidekela izany),
4`And in the twenty and fourth day of the first month, I have been by the side of the great river, that [is] Hiddekel:
5dia nanopy ny masoko aho ka nijery, ary, indro, nisy lehilahy iray nitafy rongony fotsy, ka tena volamena avy any Ofaza no nisikinany;
5and I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain one clothed in linen, and his loins girt with pure gold of Uphaz,
6tahaka ny krysolita ny tenany. ary tahaka ny helatra ny tarehiny, ary tahaka ny fanilo mirehitra ny masony, ary mivolom-barahina manganohano ny sandriny sy ny tongony; ary ny feony toy ny feon'olona maro be;
6and his body as a beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet as the aspect of bright brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude.
7ary izaho Daniela ihany no nahita ny fahitana; fa ny olona izay teo amiko kosa tsy mba nahita izany, fa toran-kovitra indrindra izy ka nandositra niery.
7`And I have seen — I, Daniel, by myself — the appearance: and the men who have been with me have not seen the appearance, but a great trembling hath fallen on them, and they flee to be hidden;
8Ary dia nilaozana ho irery aho ary nahita izany fahitana lehibe izany, dia tsy nisy hery tafajanona tato amiko; fa nihasimba nivaloarika ny tarehiko, ary tsy nisy hery intsony tamiko.
8and I have been left by myself, and I see this great appearance, and there hath been no power left in me, and my honour hath been turned in me to corruption, yea, I have not retained power.
9Nefa nandre ny teniny ihany aho; ary nony nandre izany aho, dia renoky ny torimaso niankohoka tamin'ny tany.
9`And I hear the voice of his words, and when I hear the voice of his words, then I have been in a trance on my face, and my face [is] to the earth;
10Ary, indro, nisy tanana nanohina ka nanarina ahy handohalika sy hitehin-tanana, nefa mbola nangozohozo ihany.
10and lo, a hand hath come against me, and shaketh me on my knees and the palms of my hands.
11Ary hoy izy tamiko: Ry Daniela malala ô, fantaro ny teny Izay lazaiko aminao, ka mijoroa; fa nirahina ho atỳ aminao aho ankehitriny. Ary nony nilaza izany teny izany tamiko izy, dia nitsangana nangozohozo teo aho.
11`And he saith unto me: Daniel, man greatly desired, attend to the words that I am speaking unto thee, and stand on thy station, for now I have been sent unto thee. `And when he speaketh with me this word, I have stood trembling.
12Dia hoy izy tamiko: Aza matahotra, ry Daniela; fa hatramin'ilay andro voalohany nampiasanao ny fonao hahalala sy hampahory ny tenanao teo anatrehan'Andriamanitrao dia reko ny teninao, ary noho ny teninao dia avy aho.
12And he saith unto me: Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that thou didst give thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words have been heard, and I have come because of thy words.
13Fa ilay andrianan'ny fanjakan'i Persia nanohitra ahy iraika amby roa-polo andro; fa indro kosa Mikaela, anankiray amin'ireo andriana lehibe, no tonga hanampy ahy; ka dia izaho ihany no sisa nijanona teo amin'ny mpanjakan'i Persia.[Heb. voalohany]
13`And the head of the kingdom of Persia is standing over-against me twenty and one days, and lo, Michael, first of the chief heads, hath come in to help me, and I have remained there near the kings of Persia;
14Ary avy hampahafantatra anao izay hanjo ny firenenao any am-parany aho, satria mbola hihatra amin'izany andro izany ny fahitana.
14and I have come to cause thee to understand that which doth happen to thy people in the latter end of the days, for yet the vision [is] after days.
15Ary nony nilaza izany teny izany tamiko izy, dia niankohoka tamin'ny tany aho sady tsy nahateny.
15`And when he speaketh with me about these things, I have set my face toward the earth, and have been silent;
16Ary, indro, nisy anankiray miendri-janak'olombelona nanendry ny molotro, dia niloa-bava aho ka niteny nanao tamin'ilay nitsangana teo anatrehako hoe: Tompoko, azon'ny fanaintainana aho noho ny fahitana ka tsy manan-kery intsony.
16and lo, as the manner of the sons of men, he is striking against my lips, and I open my mouth, and I speak, and say unto him who is standing over-against me: My lord, by the appearance turned have been my pangs against me, and I have retained no power.
17Fa aiza no ahazoan'ity izaho mpanompon'ny tompoko ity hiteny aminao tompoko? Ary tamin'izay dia tsy nisy hery nitoetra tato amiko intsony, na nisy aina sisa tato amiko.
17And how is the servant of this my lord able to speak with this my lord? as for me, henceforth there remaineth in me no power, yea, breath hath not been left in me.
18Ary nisy indray nanana endrik'olona nanendry ahy koa, dia nampahery ahy
18`And he addeth, and striketh against me, as the appearance of a man, and strengtheneth me,
19ka nanao hoe: Aza matahotra, ry ilay malala indrindra; fiadanana anie ho anao, mahereza, eny, mahereza. Ary rehefa niteny tamiko izy, dia nihahery aho ka nanao hoe: Aoka hiteny ianao tompoko, satria efa nampahery ahy.
19and he saith: Do not fear, O man greatly desired, peace to thee, be strong, yea, be strong; and when he speaketh with me, I have strengthened myself, and I say, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me.
20Dia hoy izy: Moa fantatrao va ny nihaviako atỳ aminao? Ankehitriny dia hiverina hiady amin'ny andrianan'i Persia aho, ary rehefa mivoaka aho, dia, indro, ho avy ny andrianan'i Grisia.Fa hambarako aminao izay voasoratra ao amin'ny soratra marina; nefa tsy misy miara-misikina amiko hanohitra ireo, afa-tsy Mikaela andriananareo.
20And he saith, Hast thou known why I have come unto thee? and now I turn back to fight with the head of Persia; yea, I am going forth, and lo, the head of Javan hath come;
21Fa hambarako aminao izay voasoratra ao amin'ny soratra marina; nefa tsy misy miara-misikina amiko hanohitra ireo, afa-tsy Mikaela andriananareo.
21but I declare to thee that which is noted down in the Writing of Truth, and there is not one strengthening himself with me, concerning these, except Michael your head.
