¹These [are] the words which Moses hath spoken unto all Israel, beyond the Jordan, in the wilderness, in the plain over-against Suph, between Paran and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di-Zahab;

²(lalana Iraika ambin'ny folo andro Kadesi-barnea raha ao Horeba, raha ny lalana mahazo ny tendrombohitra Seira no aleha.)

²eleven days` from Horeb, the way of mount Seir, unto Kadesh-Barnea.

³Ary tamin'ny andro voalohany tamin'ny volana fahiraika ambin'ny folo tamin'ny taona fahefa-polo dia niteny tamin'ny Zanak'Isiraely Mosesy, araka izay rehetra efa nandidian'i Jehovah azy holazainy aminy,

³And it cometh to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month hath Moses spoken unto the sons of Israel according to all that Jehovah hath commanded him concerning them;

⁴rehefa namono an'i Sihona, mpanjakan'ny Amorita, ilay nonina tao Hesbona, sy Oga, mpanjakan'i Basana, ilay nonina tao Astarta tany Edrehy, izy.

⁴after his smiting Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan who is dwelling in Ashtaroth in Edrei,

⁵Tany an-dafin'i Jordana, dia tany amin'ny tany Moaba, no nanombohan'i Mosesy nanazava izao lalàna izao hoe:

⁵beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, hath Moses begun to explain this law, saying:

⁶Jehovah Andriamanitsika niteny tamintsika tany Horeba ka nanao hoe: Aoka izay ny itoeranareo amin'ny tendrombohitra ity;

⁶`Jehovah our God hath spoken unto us in Horeb, saying, Enough to you — of dwelling in this mount;

⁷mihodìna ianareo, dia mandehana ka mankanesa any amin'ny tany havoan'ny Amorita sy any amin'izay rehetra ao akaikiny, dia any amin'ny tani-hay sy ny tany havoana sy ny tany lemaka amoron-tsiraka sy ny tany atsimo sy ny amoron'ny ranomasina, dia any amin'ny tanin'ny Kananita sy any Libanona ka hatrany amin'ny ony lehibe, dia ny ony Eofrata.

⁷turn ye and journey for you, and enter the mount of the Amorite, and unto all its neighbouring places, in the plain, in the hill-country, and in the low country, and in the south, and in the haven of the sea, the land of the Canaanite, and of Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Phrat;

⁸see, I have set before you the land; go in and possess the land which Jehovah hath sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them, and to their seed after them.

⁹`And I speak unto you at that time, saying, I am not able by myself to bear you;

¹⁰Jehovah Andriamanitrareo efa nahamaro anareo, ary, indro, efa maro toy ny kintana eny amin'ny lanitra ianareo izao.

¹⁰Jehovah your God hath multiplied you, and lo, ye [are] to-day as the stars of the heavens for multitude;

¹¹(Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanareo, anie hampitombo anareo ho arivo toraka izao ka hitahy anareo, araka izay efa nolazainy taminareo!)

¹¹Jehovah, God of your fathers, is adding to you, as ye [are], a thousand times, and doth bless you as He hath spoken to you.

¹²Hataoko izaho irery ahoana no fitondra ny fahasahirananareo sy ny entanareo any ny adinareo?

¹²`How do I bear by myself your pressure, and your burden, and your strife?

¹³Mifidiana izay lehilahy hendry sy manan-tsaina ary hita toetra amin'ny firenenareo, ka hataoko ho lehibenareo izy.

¹³Give for yourselves men, wise and intelligent, and known to your tribes, and I set them for your heads;

¹⁴Dia namaly ahy ianareo ka nanao hoe: Tsara ny teny izay nolazainao ka tokony hankatoavina.

¹⁴and ye answer me and say, Good [is] the thing which thou hast spoken — to do.

¹⁵Ary nalaiko ny lohan'ny firenenareo, dia olona hendry sady hita toetra, ka nataoko mpifehy anareo, dia mpifehy arivo sy mpifehy zato sy mpifehy dimam-polo sy mpifehy folo ary mpitondra vahoaka amin'ny firenenareo.

¹⁵`And I take the heads of your tribes, men, wise and known, and I appoint them heads over you, princes of thousands, and princes of hundreds, and princes of fifties, and princes of tens, and authorities, for your tribes.

¹⁶Dia nandidy ny mpitsara anareo tamin'izany andro izany aho ka nanao hoe: Henoy ny adin'ny rahalahinareo, ka tsarao marina ny olona, na ny tompon-tany, na ny vahiny eo aminy.

¹⁶And I command your judges at that time, saying, Hearkening between your brethren — then ye have judged righteousness between a man, and his brother, and his sojourner;

¹⁷Aza mizaha tavan'olona amin'ny fitsarana, fa henoy ny kely toy ny lehibe; aza matahotra olona akory, fa an'Andriamanitra ny fitsarana; ary izay sarotra loatra aminareo dia ento etỳ amiko ka hohenoiko.

¹⁷ye do not discern faces in judgment; as the little so the great ye do hear; ye are not afraid of the face of any, for the judgment is God`s, and the thing which is too hard for you, ye bring near unto me, and I have heard it;

¹⁸Dia nandidy anareo tamin'izany andro izany aho ny amin'ny zavatra rehetra izay hataonareo.

¹⁸and I command you, at that time, all the things which ye do.

¹⁹Ary nony niala tany Horeba isika, dia nandeha namaky ilay efitra lehibe sy mahatahotra izay hitanareo teny amin'ny lalana mankany amin'ny tany havoan'ny Amorita, araka izay efa nandidian'i Jehovah Andriamanitsika; dia tonga tao Kadesi-barnea isika.

¹⁹`And we journey from Horeb, and go [through] all that great and fearful wilderness which ye have seen — the way of the hill-country of the Amorite, as Jehovah our God hath commanded us, and we come in unto Kadesh-Barnea.

²⁰Dia hoy izaho taminareo: Hianareo efa tonga eto amin'ny tany havoan'ny Amonita, izay omen'i Jehovah Andriamanitsika ho antsika;

²⁰`And I say unto you, Ye have come in unto the hill-country of the Amorite, which Jehovah our God is giving to us;

²¹indro, efa natolotr'i Jehovah Andriamanitrao eo anoloanao ny tany; iakaro izy ka lovao, araka izay nolazain'i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanao, taminao; aza matahotra na mivadi-po ianao.

²¹see, Jehovah thy God hath set before thee the land; go up, possess, as Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath spoken to thee; fear not, nor be affrighted.

²²Dia nanatona ahy ianareo rehetra ka nanao hoe: Aoka haniraka olona hialoha isika, mba hisafo ny tany ho antsika izy ka hitondra teny amintsika hilaza ny lalana izay halehantsika sy ny tanàna izay hiakarantsika.

²²`And ye come near unto me, all of you, and say, Let us send men before us, and they search for us the land, and they bring us back word [concerning] the way in which we go up into it, and the cities unto which we come in;

²³Ary sitrako ny teny ka dia nifidy roa ambin'ny folo lahy teo aminareo aho, may avy isam-pirenena;

²³and the thing is good in mine eyes, and I take of you twelve men, one man for a tribe.

²⁴ary niainga ireo ka niakatra tany amin'ny tany havoana, dia tonga tao amin'ny lohasaha Eskola ka nisafo ny tany;

²⁴`And they turn and go up to the hill-country, and come in unto the valley of Eshcol, and spy it,

²⁵dia nangalany ny vokatry ny tany ka nentiny nidina tamintsika, dia nilaza tamintsika hoe izy: Tsara ny tany izay omen'i Jehovah Andriamanitsika ho antsika.

²⁵and they take with their hand of the fruit of the land, and bring down unto us, and bring us back word, and say, Good is the land which Jehovah our God is giving to us.

²⁶Kanefa tsy nety niakatra ianareo, fa nandà ny tenin'i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo.

²⁶`And ye have not been willing to go up, and ye provoke the mouth of Jehovah your God,

²⁷Dia nimonomonona tao an-dainareo ianareo ka nanao hoe: Halan'i Jehovah isika, no nitondrany antsika nivoaka avy tany Egypta hanolorany antsika eo an-tànan'ny Amorita handringanana antsika.

²⁷and murmur in your tents, and say, In Jehovah`s hating us He hath brought us out of the land of Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorite — to destroy us;

²⁸Ho aiza no hiakarantsika? Ny rahalahintsika efa nanaketraka ny fontsika tamin'ny nanaovany hoe: Lehibe sy lava noho isika ny olona; ary ny tanàna dia lehibe sady misy mànda manakatra ny lanitra; ary efa hitanay teo koa ny taranaky ny Anakita.

²⁸whither are we going up? our brethren have melted our heart, saying, A people greater and taller than we, cities great and fenced to heaven, and also sons of Anakim — we have seen there.

²⁹Dia hoy izaho taminareo: Aza manahy, any aza matahotra azy;

²⁹`And I say unto you, Be not terrified, nor be afraid of them;

³⁰Jehovah Andriamanitrareo, Izay mandeha eo anoloanareo, Izy no hiady ho anareo, araka izay rehetra nataony ho anareo tany Egypta teo imasonareo,

³⁰Jehovah your God, who is going before you — He doth fight for you, according to all that He hath done with you in Egypt before your eyes,

³¹ary tany an-efitra, izay nahitanao ny fitondran'i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao tahaka ny fitondran'ny olona ny zanany, dia teny amin'ny lalana rehetra izay nalehanareo mandra-pahatonganareo teto amin'ity tany ity.

³¹and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen that Jehovah thy God hath borne thee as a man beareth his son, in all the way which ye have gone, till your coming in unto this place.

³²Kanefa, na dia nataoko aza izany teny izany, mbola tsy ninoanareo ihany Jehovah Andriamanitrareo,

³²`And in this thing ye are not stedfast in Jehovah your God,

³³Izay nandeha tamin'ny lalana teo alohanareo hitady tany ho anareo hitobianareo, ka ny afo nony alina sy ny rahona nony antoandro no nisehoany hanoro izay lalana nety halehanareo.

³³who is going before you in the way to search out to you a place for your encamping, in fire by night, to shew you in the way in which ye go, and in a cloud by day.

³⁴Any nandre ny teninareo Jehovah, dia tezitra Izy ka nianiana hoe:

³⁴`And Jehovah heareth the voice of your words, and is wroth, and sweareth, saying,

³⁵Tsy hisy olona mihitsy amin'izao taranaka ratsy fanahy izao hahita ny tany soa izay nianianako homena ny razanareo,

³⁵Not one of these men of this evil generation doth see the good land which I have sworn to give to your fathers,

³⁶afa-tsy Kaleba, zanak'i Jefone; izy no hahita azy, any izy sy ny zanany no homeko ny tany izay nodiaviny, satria efa tanteraka tamin'ny fanarahana an'i Jehovah izy.

³⁶save Caleb son of Jephunneh — he doth see it, and to him I give the land on which he hath trodden, and to his sons, because that he hath been fully after Jehovah.

³⁷Ary izaho koa dia notezeran'i Jehovah noho ny aminareo ka nataony hoe: Hianao koa tsy hiditra any;

³⁷`Also with me hath Jehovah been angry for your sake, saying, Also, thou dost not go in thither;

³⁸fa Josoa, zanak'i Nona, izay mitsangana eo anatrehanao, izy no hiditra any, koa izy no ampaherezo, fa izy no hampandova ny Zanak'Isiraely ny tany.

³⁸Joshua son of Nun, who is standing before thee, he goeth in thither; him strengthen thou; for he doth cause Israel to inherit.

³⁹Ary ny zanakareo madinika, izay nolazainareo fa ho babo, any ny zanakareo izay tsy mahalala ny tsara sy ny ratsy amin'izao andro izao, dia izy no hiditra any, ary izy no homeko ny tany, ary izy no handova azy.

³⁹`And your infants, of whom ye have said, For a prey they are, and your sons who have not known to-day good and evil, they go in thither, and to them I give it, and they possess it;

⁴⁰Fa ianareo kosa dia miverena, ka mandehana any an-efitra, dia any amin'ny lalana mankany amin'ny Ranomasina Mena.

⁴⁰and ye, turn for yourselves, and journey toward the wilderness, the way of the Red Sea.

⁴¹Dia namaly ianareo ka nanao tamiko hoe: Efa nanota tamin'i Jehovah izahay; hiakatra ihany izahay ka hiady, araka izay rehetra nandidian'i Jehovah Andriamanitsika antsika. Dia samy nivonona tamin'ny fiadiany avy ianareo rehetra, ka nataonareo ho tsinontsinona ny hiakatra any an-tendrombohitra.

⁴¹`And ye answer and say unto me, We have sinned against Jehovah; we — we go up, and we have fought, according to all that which Jehovah our God hath commanded us; and ye gird on each his weapons of war, and ye are ready to go up into the hill-country;

⁴²Dia hoy Jehovah tamiko: Lazao aminy hoe: Aza miakatra ianareo, ary aza miady, fa tsy eo aminareo Aho; fandrao ho resy eo anoloan'ny fahavalonareo ianareo.

⁴²and Jehovah saith unto me, Say to them, Ye do not go up, nor fight, for I am not in your midst, and ye are not smitten before your enemies.

⁴³Dia niteny taminareo aho, nefa tsy nihaino ianareo; ary nandà ny tenin'i Jehovah ianareo, dia nanao sahisahy ka niakatra tany an-tendrombohitra ihany.

⁴³`And I speak unto you, and ye have not hearkened, and provoke the mouth of Jehovah, and act proudly, and go up into the hill-country;

⁴⁴Dia nivoaka hiady aminareo ny Amorita, izay nonina tamin'izany tendrombohitra izany, ka nanenjika anareo tahaka ny fanenjiky ny reni-tantely, dia nandringana anareo tany Seira ka hatrany Horma.

⁴⁴and the Amorite who is dwelling in that hill-country cometh out to meet you, and they pursue you as the bees do, and smite you in Seir — unto Hormah.

⁴⁵Dia niverina ianareo ka nitomany teo anatrehan'i Jehovah; nefa tsy nihaino ny feonareo Jehovah, na nanongilana ny sofiny taminareo.Dia nitoetra ela tao Kadesy ianareo, araka ny andro izay nitoeranareo tao.

⁴⁵`And ye turn back and weep before Jehovah, and Jehovah hath not hearkened to your voice, nor hath he given ear unto you;

⁴⁶Dia nitoetra ela tao Kadesy ianareo, araka ny andro izay nitoeranareo tao.

⁴⁶and ye dwell in Kadesh many days, according to the days which ye had dwelt.
