¹[Ny nandravan'Andriamanitra an'i Sodoma sy Gomora, sy ny namonjeny an'i Lota] Dia nankany Sodoma ilay anjely roa nony hariva, raha Lota nipetraka teo am-bavahadin'i Sodoma; ary raha nahita azy Lota, dia nitsangana mba hitsena azy izy ka niankohoka tamin'ny tany.

¹And two of the messengers come towards Sodom at even, and Lot is sitting at the gate of Sodom, and Lot seeth, and riseth to meet them, and boweth himself — face to the earth,

²Dia hoy izy: Mba mivilia ianareo, tompoko, ho ato an-tranon'ny mpanomponareo, ka mandria anio alina, ary sasao ny tongotrareo, ary hifoha maraina koa ianareo, dia handeha amin'izay lalan-kalehanareo. Fa hoy izy roa lahy: Tsia; fa hitoetra eto an-kianja ihany izahay anio alina.

²and he saith, `Lo, I pray you, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, unto the house of your servant, and lodge, and wash your feet — then ye have risen early and gone on your way;` and they say, `Nay, but in the broad place we do lodge.`

³Ary rehefa noteren'i Lota fatratra izy roa lahy, dia nivily tany aminy izy ka niditra tao an-tranony; dia nanaovany nahandro izy sy nanendasany mofo tsy misy masirasira, dia nihinana izy.

³And he presseth on them greatly, and they turn aside unto him, and come in unto his house; and he maketh for them a banquet, and hath baked unleavened things; and they do eat.

⁴Ary raha tsy mbola nandry izy, dia avy manodidina ny trano ny mponina tao an-tanàna Sodoma, hatramin'ny tanora ka hatramin'ny antitra, dia ny vahoaka rehetra tao an-tanàna;

⁴Before they lie down, the men of the city — men of Sodom — have come round about against the house, from young even unto aged, all the people from the extremity;

⁵dia niantso an'i Lota izy ireo ka nanao taminy hoe: Aiza ireo lehilahy vao tonga tato aminao izao alina izao? avoahy ho atỳ aminay izy hahalalanay azy.

⁵and they call unto Lot and say to him, `Where [are] the men who have come in unto thee to-night? bring them out unto us, and we know them.`

⁶Dia nivoaka teo am-baravarana Lota hankeo aminy, ka nakatony ny varavarana teo ivohony;

⁶And Lot goeth out unto them, to the opening, and the door hath shut behind him,

⁷ary hoy izy: Masìna ianareo, ry rahalahiko, aza manao ratsy.

⁷and saith, `Do not, I pray you, my brethren, do evil;

⁸Indro, manan-janaka roa vavy aho, izay tsy mbola nahalala lahy; masìna ianareo, aoka re ireo no havoakako ho eto aminareo, ka hataonareo aminy izay sitraponareo; fa ireo lehilahy ireo kosa dia aza anaovanareo na inona na inona; fa tonga hialoka eto ambanin'ny tafon-tranoko izy.

⁸lo, I pray you, I have two daughters, who have not known any one; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do to them as [is] good in your eyes; only to these men do not anything, for therefore have they come in within the shadow of my roof.`

⁹Ary hoy izy ireo: Mialà eto ianao. Dia hoy izy ireo indray: Ilehity tonga etỳ hivahiny, kanefa matetika mila hiseho ho mpitsara; ankehitriny dia hanao ratsiratsy kokoa aminao noho ny amin'ireo lehilahy ireo izahay. Dia nanosika mafy an-dralehilahy izy ireo, dia an'i Lota, ka nisesika hamaky ny varavarana.

⁹And they say, `Come nigh hither;` they say also, `This one hath come in to sojourn, and he certainly judgeth! now, we do evil to thee more than [to] them;` and they press against the man, against Lot greatly, and come nigh to break the door.

¹⁰Fa naninjitra ny tànany izy roa lahy, dia nanintona an'i Lota hankao an-trano ho ao aminy, ka nakatony ny varavarana.

¹⁰And the men put forth their hand, and bring in Lot unto them, into the house, and have shut the door;

¹¹Dia nampanjambena ny mason'ny lehilahy izay teo am-baravaran'ny trano izy hatramin'ny kely ka hatramin'ny lehibe; ka dia sasa-poana nitady ny varavarana ireo.

¹¹and the men who [are] at the opening of the house they have smitten with blindness, from small even unto great, and they weary themselves to find the opening.

¹²Ary hoy izy roa lahy tamin'i Lota : Mbola manana ato koa va ianao? dia izay vinantonao-lahy sy ny zanakao-lahy sy ny zanakao-vavy, ary na zovy na zovy anananao ato an-tanàna, ento miala amin'ity tanàna ity;

¹²And the men say unto Lot, `Whom hast thou here still? son-in-law, thy sons also, and thy daughters, and all whom thou hast in the city, bring out from this place;

¹³fa horavanay ity tanàna ity, satria efa lehibe ny fitarainany eo anatrehan'i Jehovah; ka dia naniraka anay Jehovah handrava azy.

¹³for we are destroying this place, for their cry hath been great [before] the face of Jehovah, and Jehovah doth send us to destroy it.`

¹⁴Dia nivoaka Lota ary niteny tamin'ny vinantony, izay efa hanambady ny zananivavy, ka nanao hoe : Miaingà, miala amin'ity tanàna ity; fa horavan'i Jehovah ity tanàna ity. Fa nataon'ny vinantony ho tahaka ny mpanao vazivazy izy.

¹⁴And Lot goeth out, and speaketh unto his sons-in-law, those taking his daughters, and saith, `Rise, go out from this place, for Jehovah is destroying the city;` and he is as [one] mocking in the eyes of his sons-in-law.

¹⁵Ary nony maraina koa ny andro, dia nandodona an'i Lota ireo anjely ka nanao hoe: Miaingà, ento ny vadinao sy ny zanakao roa vavy izay eto, fandrao mba haringana ianao noho ny heloky ny tanàna.

¹⁵And when the dawn hath ascended, then the messengers press upon Lot, saying, `Rise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters who are found present, lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.`

¹⁶Ary nony nitaredretra izy, dia notantanan'izy roa lahy izy sy ny vadiny ary ny zanany roa vavy noho ny famindram-pon'i Jehovah taminy; dia nitondra azy nivoaka izy roa lahy ka nandao azy tany ivelan'ny tanàna.

¹⁶And he lingereth, and the men lay hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, through the mercy of Jehovah unto him, and they bring him out, and cause him to rest without the city.

¹⁷Ary rehefa nitondra azy nivoaka tany ivelany izy, dia hoy ny anankiray: Mandosira hamonjy ny ainao; aza miherika ianao, na mijanona eny amin'ny tany lemaka rehetra; mandosira any an-tendrombohitra, fandrao haringana ianao.

¹⁷And it cometh to pass when he hath brought them out without, that he saith, `Escape for thy life; look not expectingly behind thee, nor stand thou in all the circuit; to the mountain escape, lest thou be consumed.`

¹⁸Ary hoy Lota taminy: Aza an'izany, Tompo ô!

¹⁸And Lot saith unto them, `Not [so], I pray thee, my lord;

¹⁹indro, fa efa nahita fitia teo imasonao ny mpanomponao, ary efa nahalehibe ny famindram-ponao ianao, izay nataonao tamiko hamonjenao ny aiko; ary tsy afa-mandositra any an-tendrombohitra aho, fandrao hahatratra ahy ny loza, ka ho faty aho;

¹⁹lo, I pray thee, thy servant hath found grace in thine eyes, and thou dost make great thy kindness which thou hast done with me by saving my life, and I am unable to escape to the mountain, lest the evil cleave [to] me, and I have died;

²⁰indro, io vohitra io dia akaiky handosirana sady kely; masìna ianao, aoka handositra ao aho (tsy kely va izy io?), dia ho velona ny aiko.

²⁰lo, I pray thee, this city [is] near to flee thither, and it [is] little; let me escape, I pray thee, thither, (is it not little?) and my soul doth live.`

²¹Ary hoy izy taminy: Indro, efa nekeko koa ianao tamin'izany zavatra izany, ka tsy horavako io vohitra nolazainao io.

²¹And he saith unto him, `Lo, I have accepted thy face also for this thing, without overthrowing the city [for] which thou hast spoken;

²²Mandehana faingana, mandosira ho ao; fa tsy mahazo manao na inona na inona aho mandra-pahatonganao ao. Izany no nanaovana ny anaran'ny tanàna hoe Zoara.

²²haste, escape thither, for I am not able to do anything till thine entering thither;` therefore hath he calleth the name of the city Zoar.

²³Ary ny masoandro efa niposaka tamin'ny tany, raha tonga tao Zoara Lota.

²³The sun hath gone out on the earth, and Lot hath entered into Zoar,

²⁴Ary Jehovah nandatsaka tamin'i Sodoma sy Gomora solifara sy afo, avy tamin'i Jehovah tany an-danitra,

²⁴and Jehovah hath rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens;

²⁵ka nandrava ireny tanàna ireny sy ny tany lemaka rehetra sy ny mponina rehetra tao an-tanàna ary ny zava-maniry teo amin'ny tany.

²⁵and He overthroweth these cities, and all the circuit, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which is shooting up from the ground.

²⁶Fa ny vadin'i Lota niherika teo ivohony, dia tonga vongan-tsira mitsangana izy.

²⁶And his wife looketh expectingly from behind him, and she is — a pillar of salt!

²⁷Dia nifoha maraina koa Abrahama ka nankany amin'ilay efa nijanonany teo anatrehan'i Jehovah;

²⁷And Abraham riseth early in the morning, unto the place where he hath stood [before] the face of Jehovah;

²⁸ary nitsinjo an'i Sodoma sy Gomora sy ny tany lemaka rehetra izy, dia nahita, ka, indro, niakatra ny setroky ny tany tahaka ny setroky ny lafaoro lehibe.

²⁸and he looketh on the face of Sodom and Gomorrah, and on all the face of the land of the circuit, and seeth, and lo, the smoke of the land went up as smoke of the furnace.

²⁹Ary raha noravan'Andriamanitra ny tanàna tany amin'ny tany lemaka, dia nahatsiaro an'i Abrahama Andriamanitra ka namoaka an'i Lota hiala teo afovoan'ny horavana, tamin'ny nandravany ny tanàna izay nonenan'i Lota.

²⁹And it cometh to pass, in God`s destroying the cities of the circuit, that God remembereth Abraham, and sendeth Lot out of the midst of the overthrow in the overthrowing of the cities in which Lot dwelt.

³⁰[Ny niandohan'ny firenen'i Moaba Sy Amona] Dia niakatra Lota avy tao Zoara ka nitoetra tany an-tendrombohitra, dia izy sy ny zanany roa vavy; fa natahotra hitoetra tao Zoara izy; dia nitoetra tao an-johy izy sy ny zanany roa vavy.

³⁰And Lot goeth up out of Zoar, and dwelleth in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he hath been afraid of dwelling in Zoar, and he dwelleth in a cave, he and his two daughters.

³¹Ary hoy ny vavimatoa tamin'ny zandriny: Efa antitra izao raintsika, ary tsy misy lehilahy ambonin'ny tany hanambady antsika araka ny fanaon'ny tany rehetra;

³¹And the first-born saith unto the younger, `Our father [is] old, and a man there is not in the earth to come in unto us, as [is] the way of all the earth;

³²andeha hampisotrointsika divay ny raintsika dia handry aminy isika hananantsika fara avy amin'ny raintsika.

³²come, we cause our father to drink wine, and lie with him, and preserve from our father — a seed.`

³³Dia nampisotroiny divay ny rainy tamin'iny alina iny dia niditra ny vavimatoa ka nandry tamin-drainy; ary izy tsy nahafantatra izay nandriany na izay nifohazany.

³³And they cause their father to drink wine on that night; and the first-born goeth in, and lieth with her father, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.

³⁴Ary nony ampitson'iny dia hoy ny vavimatoa tamin'ny zandriny: Indro, efa nandry tamin'ny raintsika aho halina; aoka hampisotrointsika divay indray izy anio alina, dia midìra ianao ka mandria aminy hananantsika fara avy amin'ny raintsika.

³⁴And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that the first-born saith unto the younger, `Lo, I have lain yesterday-night with my father: we cause him to drink wine also to-night, and go thou in, lie with him, and we preserve from our father — a seed.`

³⁵Dia nampisotroiny divay indray ny rainy tamin'iny alina iny; dia nitsangana ilay zandriny ka nandry taminy; ary izy tsy nahafantatra izay nandriany, na izay nifohazany.

³⁵And they cause their father to drink wine on that night also, and the younger riseth and lieth with him, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.

³⁶Dia samy nanan'anaka tamin-drainao ny zanak'i Lota roa vavy.

³⁶And the two daughters of Lot conceive from their father,

³⁷Dia niteraka zazalahy ny vavimatoa, ka ny anarany nataony hoe Moaba; izy no rain'ny Moabita mandraka androany.Ary ny zandriny koa dia niteraka zazalahy ary ny anarany nataony hoe Benamy; izy kosa no rain'ny taranak'i Amona mandraka androany.

³⁷and the first-born beareth a son, and calleth his name Moab; he [is] father of Moab unto this day;

³⁸Ary ny zandriny koa dia niteraka zazalahy ary ny anarany nataony hoe Benamy; izy kosa no rain'ny taranak'i Amona mandraka androany.

³⁸as to the younger, she also hath born a son, and calleth his name Ben-Ammi: he [is] father of the Beni-Ammon unto this day.
