1[Ny fitarainan'i Joba noho ny fahoriana nanjo azy] Rehefa afaka izany, dia niloa-bava Joba ka nanozona ny androny
1After this hath Job opened his mouth, and revileth his day.
2nanao hoe:
2And Job answereth and saith: —
3Foàna anie ny andro nahaterahako sy ny alina izay nanao hoe: Misy zazalahy vao torontoronina!
3Let the day perish in which I am born, And the night that hath said: `A man-child hath been conceived.`
4Izany andro izany dia aoka ho maizina, ary aoka tsy hitady azy Andriamanitra any ambony; ary aoka tsy hisy mazava hamirapiratra aminy;
4That day — let it be darkness, Let not God require it from above, Nor let light shine upon it.
5Aoka ny aizina sy ny aloky ny fahafatesana hahalasa azy indray; Aoka ny rahona hitatao eo amboniny; Aoka izay zavatra mahamaizina ny andro hampahatsiravina azy.[Na:handoto azy]
5Let darkness and death-shade redeem it, Let a cloud tabernacle upon it, Let them terrify it as the most bitter of days.
6Izany alina izany aoka ny aizim-pito hisambotra azy; Aoka tsy hiara-mifaly amin'ny andron'ny taona izy. Ary tsy ho tonga amin'ny isan'ny volana;
6That night — let thick darkness take it, Let it not be united to days of the year, Into the number of months let it not come.
7Indro izany alina izany aoka ho momba izy; Aoka tsy ho velona ao ny hoby;
7Lo! that night — let it be gloomy, Let no singing come into it.
8Aoka hanozona azy ny mpanozona andro, Izay mahay mamoha ny dragona;
8Let the cursers of day mark it, Who are ready to wake up Leviathan.
9Aoka ho maizina ny kintan'ny marainany; Aoka hiandry ny mazava izy, nefa tsy hisy, ary aoka tsy ho faly mahita ny hodimason'ny maraina izy,
9Let the stars of its twilight be dark, Let it wait for light, and there is none, And let it not look on the eyelids of the dawn.
10Satria tsy nanidy ny varavaran'ny kibon'ineny izy ka tsy nanafina fahoriana tamin'ny masoko.
10Because it hath not shut the doors Of the womb that was mine! And hide misery from mine eyes.
11Nahoana re aho no tsy maty hatrany am-bohoka e, ary tsy niala aina, fony vao nivoaka avy tany an-kibo e?
11Why from the womb do I not die? From the belly I have come forth and gasp!
12Nahoana no nisy lohalika niandry ahy? Ary nahoana no nisy nono hinonoako?
12Wherefore have knees been before me? And what [are] breasts, that I suck?
13Fa raha tsy izany, dia efa nandry aho toy izay ka niadana, eny, natory aho ka afa-tsasatra,
13For now, I have lain down, and am quiet, I have slept — then there is rest to me,
14Teo amin'ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanolo-tsaina avy amin'ny tany, izay nanao ireny tanàna efa rava, [Na: namboatra][Na: fasana lehibe]
14With kings and counsellors of earth, These building wastes for themselves.
15Na teo amin'ny andriandahy izay manana volamena sady mameno volafotsy ny tranony;
15Or with princes — they have gold, They are filling their houses [with] silver.
16Na efa tsy ary toy ny zaza tsy tonga volana aho ka nafenina, dia toy ny zaza izay tsy nahita ny mazava akory.
16(Or as a hidden abortion I am not, As infants — they have not seen light.)
17Any no itsaharan'ny ratsy fanahy tsy hampitebiteby, ary any ny reraka no afa-tsasatra;
17There the wicked have ceased troubling, And there rest do the wearied in power.
18Miara-miadana avokoa ny mpifatotra; Tsy mandre ny feon'ny mpampiasa izy.
18Together prisoners have been at ease, They have not heard the voice of an exactor,
19Samy any ny kely sy ny lehibe, Ary ny mpanompo dia afaka amin'ny tompony.
19Small and great [are] there the same. And a servant [is] free from his lord.
20Nahoana no fahazavana no mba omena ny reraka, ary fiainana ho an'izay latsaka amin'ny fangidiana?
20Why giveth He to the miserable light, and life to the bitter soul?
21Izay miandry fahafatesana, nefa tsy avy izy, sady mitady azy mihoatra noho ny fitady harena nafenina:
21Who are waiting for death, and it is not, And they seek it above hid treasures.
22Izay faly indrindra sady ravoravo, raha mahita ny fasana,
22Who are glad — unto joy, They rejoice when they find a grave.
23Dia olona izay mandeha ao amin'ny maizina sady voafefin'Andriamanitra manodidina.
23To a man whose way hath been hidden, And whom God doth shut up?
24Fa mialoha ny haninkaniko ny fitolokoko, ary migororoana toy ny rano ny fidradradradrako;
24For before my food, my sighing cometh, And poured out as waters [are] my roarings.
25Fa Izay atahorako no mahazo ahy, ary izay angovitako no manjo ahy.Tsy mbola nahita fiadanana na fitsaharana na fakàna aina akory aza aho, dia tonga indray ny tebiteby.
25For a fear I feared and it meeteth me, And what I was afraid of doth come to me.
26Tsy mbola nahita fiadanana na fitsaharana na fakàna aina akory aza aho, dia tonga indray ny tebiteby.
26I was not safe — nor was I quiet — Nor was I at rest — and trouble cometh!
